Last night the Warriors Special Olympic basketball squad was edged out in their home opener.  They lost a heartbreaker in the last minute.   The Warriors fought hard the whole game in a back and forth offensive battle.  They had several key steals down the stretch to help them try and pull out a win.  They also showcased their transition play with many fast breaks, making the game full of edge of your seat action.  Top plays were made by Mercedes Acosta, Kevin Stone, Justin Simmons and Mitya Yavich.  The support from the home crowd was fantastic and definitely appreciated; we have another home game this upcoming Mon. 2/6/06 at 7:30 p.m., please come out to support us again, and if you missed the action last night come next Mon. to see what everyone is talking about.

The Arapahoe Special Olympic basketball team celebrated another victory last night over the Southsiders.  The defense was stingy and every point was a battle but Arapahoe prevailed.  The most improved player for this season so far is Justin Simmons.  Defensively, Mercedes Acosta and Andrew Carlson put up strong showings, with steals and shot blocking, and they both still scored quite a bit against players twice their size.  Offensively, Tyler Clyatt and Kevin Stone continued their strong presence in scoring and passing for the team.  Billy Williams, in his first game this season, added another scoring boost for the Warriors.  The next game is our first HOME GAME, please come out and support your classmates.  It will be at Arapahoe next Monday 1/30/06 at 7:15 p.m.
