Please do not leave your car parked in the West Parking lot after school on Friday due to the activities involving the Parade on Saturday.

Students if you signed up to participate in the Centipede Race or the
Tug-a-War please pick-up your color-coded bracelet in the Dean of Students’ office Friday, September 29.

Hey Warriors! Thanks for making this a great Homecoming week - but it's not over yet. The lunchtime activity for today is Name That Tune, so volunteer to name the titles of songs for all different decades. The Homecoming parade is tomorrow morning at 10:00 around the school and everyone should come and watch! The dance is tomorrow night from 8:00-11:00 in the main gym. There will be a MANDATORY meeting on Monday, October 2, 2006 in the Forum at 7:00 p.m. for ALL parents and players. Registration packets will be distributed, and information regarding the spring season and ordering uniforms will be discussed. See you on Monday!

The boys Varsity soccer team defeated Rangeview yesterday 1 – 0 on a goal from Connor Talbert. The boys junior varsity also defeated Rangeview, their score was 2 – 0.

Congratulations to the Freshman A volleyball team for their two game victories last night over Castle View! Come cheer on our Freshman A team this Saturday for their tournament at Thunderidge.

Hey Warriors! Great job dressing up for Superhero Day today! Remember that tomorrow is Colors Day so be sure to show your school spirit. And remember that tickets are still on sale for the Homecoming dance today and tomorrow at lunch for $10 - that's $5 less than at the door. Bring in cans for the Broncos' Wives Food Drive to get a discount. Today's lunchtime activity is the Frozen T-shirt Contest so volunteer to play. Have a "super" day, Warriors!

Hey Key Club members! Remember to come to our meeting Monday, after school in room C16. We are planning the Trick or Treat Street and could use your participation. There are several great opportunities for community service hours coming up, so come and check it out.

Congratulations to the Arapahoe JV softball team for defeating the Ponderosa Mustangs last night by a score of 7-6. Great hitting in the 7th inning helped the Warriors come from behind to win the game. Good job ladies. Way to hang in there and fight to the end.

Congratulations to the JV golfers who finished 1st at the City Championships led by Ben Sauer’s 75. They also finished 1st out of 23 teams at Coyote Creek led by Brian Zenk and Joe Smith with 74.

The Varsity boys soccer game that is scheduled for today against Rangeview has been moved to being played at Rangeview High School instead of Aurora Public Stadium. So come on out and cheer on both the Varsity and JV boys soccer teams today as they take on the Raiders at Rangeview High School. Game time is 4 pm.

Attention Coach Kakos's Freshman A volleyball team! For your Castle View volleyball game today, please meet in the gym at 4:45, dressed out and ready to warm up.

Congratulations to the girls’ varsity softball team on their 1 to nothing victory over Ponderosa last night. It is the first time, in the program’s history; the team has defeated a previous state qualifying team. Way to keep making history ladies!

Attention Wild Warrior Women. There will be a very important meeting tomorrow, September 26th in the Forum. Everyone must attend.

Hey all you FCCLA members and officers: Don’t forget that we are working on our homecoming float Tuesday and Wednesday after school in room E3. Bring plenty of cardboard as we plan to work on the construction of our ship.

Attention Mathematicians!! We need your talent! We are offering a new math competition at Arapahoe through National Assessment and Testing. Plan to attend the first event on Thursday, September 28th from 2:30 – 3:00 p.m. in Mrs. Blechschmit’s room, S-11. This first competition is fast-paced in which you try to solve 100 problems in 30 minutes! Join the fun! Snacks will be served.

Please join the ABK Boy’s Soccer team for a big game tomorrow against the Ponderosa Mustangs on our home field at 4 p.m. Also join us for a tailgate BBQ sponsored by the ABK Boosters - offering a great price of $3 to our students for a hamburger/chips & drink. Hey CSJC members! Community service just ‘cause has a meeting today, September 21st, in room C19. It won’t be long, but please try to get to the meeting by 2:15 so that we can get started quickly. We’ll be volunteering at an elementary school on Friday. See you on Thursday.

The Warrior Marching Band would like to invite you to the Arapahoe Marching Invitational at LPS Stadium this Saturday, 9/23/06. 20 bands will be performing in a Prelims/Finals Competition beginning at 10:30am. Arapahoe performs at 4:00pm and 9:45pm – be sure to catch our “New Orleans Jazz Revival” Show!! Go Warrior Band!!!

Congratulations to the 8 finalists who have been selected to move on to the finals of the 2006 Arapahoe Band Concerto Competition: Sean Case, Marimba; Colton Crandell, Trumpet, Gabby Miller, Clarinet; Roxy Steinberg, Flute; David Steinberg, Timpani, Jamie Stippich, Oboe; Matt Cullen, Bassoon, and Wes Leffingwell, Piano. Congratulations to all of you! They will perform in the theater on November 8th in front of a panel of Colorado Symphony Musicians to determine this year’s top cash prize winners!

Hey Warriors! It's that "time" of year again. It's Homecoming time! This year's Homecoming theme is "Journey Through Time." Homecoming week is next week and let's get into the spirit of the "times" by participating in the spirit days! Monday is A Black and White Affair so be sure to dress up nicely in black and white attire. Tuesday is Western Day - yeehah! Wednesday is Decades Day so pick your favorite decade and go on a "journey through time." Thursday is Superhero Day so dress up as your favorite superhero of all "time!" Of course, Friday is Color Day to show your support with the Warrior colors. All through the week, there are awesome activities to attend: Tuesday is the Homecoming Talent Show at 5:00 and 7:00 pm. Wednesday is the Bonfire at 7:30 pm on the baseball field. Don't forget to come to the amazing Homecoming Parade the morning of the dance, Saturday September 30th. The parade starts at 10:00 am. The Homecoming dance is next Saturday night from 8:00-11:00 in the main gym. Tickets will be on sale all next week in the cafeteria during both lunches for only $10. Tickets will be sold at the door for $15. Remember to bring your student ID! I hope you have a great "time" Warriors. And don't forget to dress up in black and white this Monday, the 25th!

The Boy’s Varsity Tennis team defeated Chaparral yesterday by a score of 4-3. The JV team also defeated Chaparral. Congratulations guys! Today we will go up against Rangeview. All tennis players need to listen for an announcement today after school to see if the weather will affect our match.

Congratulations to the varsity girls’ softball team on their 11 to 1 victory over Rock Canyon last night. Way to keep winning ladies!

Hey all of you interested in volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, we will have a short meeting tomorrow, September 20th in room C18 after school.

The PSAT/SAT Seminar today, September 19th will be in rooms W201 & W202.

Seniors: Boettcher scholarship applications are available in the Post Grad Center. You are eligible to apply for a Boettcher if you are in the top 5% of your class, scored 1200 or higher on the math and reading sections of the SAT –OR- 27 or higher on the ACT, have been a resident of Colorado for at least your junior and senior years of high school. Pick up applications in the Post Grad Ctr.

A representative from Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University in Minnesota will be visiting Arapahoe on Tuesday, October 10 at 12:30 to visit with students in the Guidance Center in Mrs. Thurnau’s office.

Attention all seniors! Do you want to be a part of making our last Homecoming the best one ever? Come to the senior class float meeting, tomorrow morning at 6:45am in room C1 to help design and plan the float in the Homecoming parade. Let’s win the float contest for the 4th year in a row!

The freshman record is now 2wins and 1 loss. They play Heritage Saturday morning at 9:00 @ Heritage come out and support your Freshmen Football team!

Congratulations to the boys and girls cross-country teams for placing 2nd overall at the Kadet Invitational this past Friday. Top finishers were Kalb Van Essen & Matt Ryan in the boys Race. Top finishers in the girls Race were Katie Monnett and Emily Kirchhofer. Congratulations to all finishers!

Congratulations to the sophomore volleyball team who defeated Heritage in the finals on Saturday to take first place in the Heritage Tournament. Margo Lips was named the MVP of the all tournament team, please congratulate her! The Warrior Volleyball team takes on Regis tomorrow night at home; we hope to see you there!

The boys Varsity soccer team defeated Chaparral yesterday 4 – 0. The boys Junior Varsity and Fresh/Soph teams also defeated Chaparral, with scores of 6 – 0 and 7 – 0.

Don’t forget to cheer on your Lady Warriors at the softball game today at 4:00 at deKoevand park!

Congratulations to the Warrior Varsity Volleyball team for beating Ponderosa in 4 games last night! It was a great team effort with Marci Logan recording 12 kills and Lauren Bloch adding 10 kills as well. Come support the team as they take on Rangeview tomorrow night at home at 7pm!

Congratulations to the varsity girls’ softball team on their 6 to 3 victory over Douglas County yesterday. It was the first time in school history that the softball team has defeated Douglas County. Leading the lady warriors were Carrie Rubida with a single, double and a triple for four runs batted in, Brittany Bouque with two hits and a run batted in, and Danielle Archuleta with two hits and seven strike-outs pitching for the win. Way to make history ladies!

Congratulations to the Freshmen “B” football team for its 22-0 victory over Thunder Ridge yesterday. Great job guys! Touchdowns were scored by Jacob Childers and Aaron Duarte. The Defense was awesome!

Most Valuable Player honors went to: Daniel Sidder goalkeeper, Gary Cole defender and Keegan Bast offense. The boys Junior Varsity soccer team also won the tournament defeating Cherry Creek 2 – 1 Saturday afternoon.

Congratulations to the freshman football team for their 28-20 victory over the Douglas County Huskies. The Warriors were lead by Davis Gunther with 3 rushing touchdowns and Kyle England with one passing touchdown from Greg Colosimo. Thanks to all of our fans that came out and supported us!

Congratulations to our Warrior Cheers and Toms! All of our teams made a great showing at their first competition of the year held last Saturday at Elitch Gardens' Spirit Fest. The JV Cheers took 2nd Place in the JV division, and the Varsity Cheers took 3rd place in the Varsity division."

We will be discussing our homecoming float plans as well as upcoming chapter activities. Congratulations to the JV golfers for finishing 1st out of 14 teams at Aurora Hills led by Nick Davis’s 70. They finished 2nd out of 26 teams at Ft. Morgan led by Nick Davis and Joe Smith. They finished 1st out of 13 teams at Littleton led by Brian Zenk.

The boys Varsity soccer team tallied a win in their season opener last night defeating Evergreen 5 – 0. Scoring for ABK we’re: Chris Carry, Ryan Taylor, Keegan Bast, Connor Talbert and Joey Madigan. Assists were given by: Ryan Taylor, Chris Carry, Keegan Bast, Zach Salas and Thomas Rapella. ABK will play Overland tonight at LPSS @ 7:30.

Congratulations to the golfers who finished 2nd out of 14 teams at Perry Park, led by David Holtgrewe’s 76. They finished 2nd out of 7 teams at Wellshire led by Ben Scully’s 73. They finished 2nd out of 23 teams at the Pinery led by Ben Scully’s 72.

The Boy’s Varsity Tennis team continued its unbeaten streak yesterday against Littleton. The Warriors won 6-1 and will play at Mountain Vista on Thursday. Thanks to all who came out to cheer on the team and special thanks to the 3 girls who did a fantastic job with the National Anthem. The JV lost a close match by a score of 5-7, with all of the matches being hard fought.

General Announcements

The Herff Jones representatives will be taking class ring orders today and tomorrow in the cafeteria during lunches. Please pick up a ring packet in the guidance center or main office for more information.

Hey freshmen! Remember to vote for your class officers today, September 5th. Voting booths will be open all day in the cafeteria. Don't forget to bring your student ID!

Drama club will meet tomorrow, Sept. 6 after school in the theater. There will be important stuff and audition information. Check the callboard.

Hey all seniors! What’s the best way to get involved in Homecoming this year? Be in the senior class skit for the homecoming talent show. Meet in room C1 right after school tomorrow, September 6th, to be a part of the skit. This is our senior year! Let’s make it amazing!

Hey freshmen! We have another homecoming organizational meeting tomorrow, September 6th at 7:00am in room S-8. If you can't make the meeting see Mrs. Crookham or Mrs. Kruck in the math office to get information on the parade float plans.

Due to safety issues there will be no tailgating at Littleton Public Schools Stadium for all sports events.

Looking for a way to get involved? Is business in your future or do you just want to have fun? Come to the first FBLA, future business leaders of America meeting, Monday, September 11th for information and snacks. Were planning some awesome events this year so join us in S1 at 2:15 and bring friends!

Attention all new and potential FCCLA members: FCCLA will be having a meeting on Thursday at 2:20 in room E3. Officer applications are due tomorrow (Wednesday) by the end of the day. We will be discussing our homecoming float plans as well as upcoming chapter activities. Even if you missed our first meeting you are still welcome to attend and get involved in one of Arapahoe’s most outstanding organizations.

Athletics

Attention Girls' Lacrosse Players: There has been a field change for the informal lax practice tomorrow. We will now be practicing at Newton Middle School on the east field. Please visit the website for further information.

Hey all you Bocce Ballers! Thanks so much for the enthusiasm and turn out of last Tuesday's meeting. Our next meeting will be right after school today, Sept 5th in room C15. Remember to bring your $10 membership fee. If you have any questions, see Jeff Hahl, Miles Lepry, or Sam Harper.

Arapahoe Boy’s swimming and interested freshman come to a team planning meeting tomorrow, September 6th, after school. Homecoming and upcoming events will be discussed.

Hey all you tennis fans, if the U.S. Open has not satiated your appetite for outstanding tennis, come on out to the AHS courts today to see your undefeated Warriors take on Littleton. The varsity match will start at 3:30 and the JV’s will start at 3:30 over at the Littleton courts.

Congratulations to the girls’ varsity softball team for winning three games this weekend at the Boulder Tournament. This is the most wins by any AHS team in this tournament achieved in school history. Way to go ladies!

The Speech Club will meet today, September 5th, instead of Monday for this week only. If you are interested in finding out more about the club, come by room C15, at 2:30! If you have dues and membership forms, be sure to drop them off!

Attention, Young Republicans! Our meeting has been changed to today, September 5th. We will meet after school in C-26.

There will be an important Amnesty International meeting today in N-6 right after school. Anyone interested in attending the AIDS walk on September 10th must come to the meeting and register. Amnesty T-Shirts will also be available for $10.
