Tomorrow, be here at AHS to support the Freshman Football team at 9:00 am and stay for the JV Football team at 11:00. It’s a great weekend to be a WARRIOR!

The boy’s JV 2 tennis team destroyed Castleview yesterday by a score of 11-2. Come out next Tuesday to support your Warrior Tennis Teams…Varsity will play at Littleton, JV will play here at Arapahoe.

Congratulations to the Freshmen Black Volleyball team for their victory over Cherry Creek.



Our very own Jasmine Oeinck has just taken 2nd place in the ITU World Cup Championship Triathlon in Hamburg, Germany. She was one of over 35 competitors from around the world who competed in the event. She finished with a time of 2hrs 2min 14seconds, one step closer to the Olympics in China 2008.

The boy’s varsity tennis team defeated Douglas County by a score of 6-1 yesterday. Come out to the Arapahoe and Powell tennis courts tomorrow to watch your JV tennis teams go up against Castleview.

General Announcements

SENIORS – Don’t miss being in your Senior Class Picture. The picture will be taken this Thursday, August 30, at 8:00 a.m. in the Gym. Please report to your first period class, and you will be dismissed from there to the Gym. Seniors, this will be the only time your Group Class Picture will be taken – so DON’T MISS OUT!

Juniors and Seniors: You need to have a valid parking permit to park in the student parking lots. Do not park in the fire lanes or areas that are indicated as no parking. This is a safety and security issue and parking tickets will be written.

There will be a lost and found table in the cafeteria this week. Please check the table for any missing belongings.

Congratulations to the golf team for the following performances: 1st place out of 15 teams at Grand elk led by Steven Moore’s 69 and Ben Sauer’s 72. 1st place out of 33 teams at Thorncreek led by David Perry’s 74, 1st place out of 7 teams at South Suburban led by David Holtgrewe and Dalton Becky with 75, 1st place out of 15 teams at Aurora Hills led by David Perry’s 73, and 5th place out of 22 teams at Riverdale Knolls led by Austin Wertz and Matt Leuders with 76.

FBLA had a fantastic win in Chicago this summer. Arapahoe students Raycel Hirsh, and Steven Doss placed 4th in Desktop Publishing. Former Arapahoe students Kelly Hanson, Mary Hayworth and Nikki Markison placed 8th in Emerging Business. They competed against 220,000 nationwide to place in the top.

Congratulations to the varsity softball team on winning their season opener over George Washington Friday by a score of 9 to 5. Lauren Leonard got her first win as a varsity pitcher and Megan Janes lead the team in hitting with a double and three RBI’s. Way to go ladies!

Seniors – the deadline to submit your senior picture and senior bio to the yearbook is next Tuesday, August 28th! Those of you who still need to have your senior pictures taken for the yearbook can sign up with Mrs. Fudge in room E-8. Photographers will be coming on Tuesday and Wednesday August 28 and 29th.

Students: If you had Ms. Price for a social studies class last year, please remember to give her your summer book reviews. She needs your good work for the “What Warriors Read” list.

The first Speech Club meeting will be this coming Tuesday, August 28, at 2:30 in room C-15. Regular meetings will take place on Monday afternoons. Stop by the Speech Club table this Monday during Club Cafe for candy and camaraderie! Speech Club officers will meet Friday afternoon after school in room C15.

Congratulations go to the team of Nick Turner and Laine Greaves-Smith who placed second nationally in the "Animatronics" competition, and to former Arapahoe Student Brian Ward who took a top ten finish in "Architectural Modeling".
