General Announcements

The You Matter Club will be meeting Tuesday, February 5th at 2:30 in the Guidance Center.  We hope to see you there!

Do you have any winter gear you don’t wear anymore? If so donate them to the Sox Drive bins in the cafeteria and help prevent homeless young adults from freezing.  Sox Drive will be accepting any mid condition jackets, shirts, pants, boots, shoes, and new socks. This competition between Littleton and Heritage will only last until Friday, February 8th so please check your closets and donate.

Hey Warriors, the competition to create the official prom design has begun! This design will be featured on the tickets and posters for this year's prom, "Beneath a Painted Sky." The contest ends tomorrow so be sure to submit your ideas to Mrs. Crookham in the Math Office as soon as possible. There will be a great prize for the winner, so enter today!

Interested in film making? Winter Film School is a place for beginning and intermediate film students currently enrolled at a Littleton Public Schools High School to write scripts, direct, act, film, and edit movies. Films will be submitted to film festivals for peer review. Winter Film School runs from February to April. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Office. 

Athletics

Congratulations to the Varsity girls basketball team for their win last night over Cherokee Trail 53-16. The victory was highlighted by terrific "team defense" and a strong offensive showing in the second half. The win pushes the Lady Warriors season mark to 15 and 1. Thanks to everyone that came out and supported us last night!  Your 4th ranked Lady Warriors are back in action tomorrow night against Cherry Creek at Cherry Creek, JV at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00. Come over to Cherry Creek and support your Lady Warriors.

The JV girls basketball team got another win last night against Cherokee Trail 50-30.  Highs scorers were Jordyn Vega with 13 point and Katie Crowley with 11 points.  They played well together as a team with 8 out of the 10 girls scoring.  This win brings their conference record to 7-0.  They are in action again tomorrow night at 5:30 at Cherry Creek High School.  Please come out and support them!

Congratulations to the Lady Warriors Freshman Girls basketball team.  They picked up another league win against Cherokee Trail HS.  They played extremely hard and well together.  The final score of the game was 36-18. Our league record is 10-0.  Keep up the great work ladies!

Attention all girls' lacrosse players.  Today, after school you will have the opportunity to try on samples of the new uniforms for your correct size.  Please come to Room C-26 at 3:00 p.m. today.

FBLA there is an importing meeting today after school at 2:30 in Room E9 about our district competition.

The AHS Science Bowl teams did an outstanding job this past weekend, placing 1st and 2nd in their flight.  The flight included teams from Thunder Ridge and Cherokee Trail.  Both teams moved into the double elimination round, where they just barely lost to Lakewood High School, who went on to win the regional competition.  Congratulations to:  Nick Sabo, Shannon Jones, Jordyn Griffyn, Zac Cherin, Logan Brock, Jeff Craig, Gerry Goldy, Joe Redmond, Meredith Lutz, and Sara Wilky.

It's time for the Arapahoe Herald's monthly survey. Please check your school email account or follow the link from the AHS webpage, and give us your opinions about relationships and the dating scene for the Valentines Day issue of the Herald.

The Speech and Debate Team will hold its meeting and practice today after school in C15 at 2:30. All members should plan to attend.

Athletics

The JV girls basketball team beat Grandview 52-45 Friday night.  It was a tough game from the start with aggressive play by both teams.  High scorers were Jordyn Vega with 17pts and 6 steals and Maria Haas with 12 pts, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks.  Their next game is Wednesday at home against Cherokee Trail at 5:30.  Please come out and show your support!!

The Freshman Girls Basketball team picked up a win against Grandview on Friday night by the score of 47 to 17.  The girls overcame a slow first half to earn the win.  The whole team fought hard and worked together.  Keep up the great teamwork and intensity.

Please come out and support the Special Olympic basketball team as they go up against  South Suburban  on Tuesday, January 29th at 7:00 p.m. here at Arapahoe High School's main gym.

Warriors, as you know, the Winter Formal Dance is this Saturday at 7:00. Please be aware of the Littleton Public Schools Dance Policy. It is printed on the back of your dance ticket. We are fortunate to be able to offer four dances a year and we hope to continue this great Arapahoe tradition.

Athletics

The Lady Warriors Freshman girls team picked up a hard fought win against Mullen last night by a score of 42-24.  The freshman girls continue to work extremely hard and persevere through a little adversity with injuries and sickness.  Keep working hard ladies.

Come to our own Sitting Eagle Gym tonight and support your #3 ranked girls basketball team as they take on #4 ranked Grandview. JV starts at 5:30 and the Varsity begins at 7:00.  See you tonight!

Heritage Hockey varsity home game is this Saturday 8:30 p.m. at South Suburban Ice Arena.
