General Announcements

The Performing Arts Department presents our Spring Band Concert tonight at 7:00 in the theater. Small ensembles begin at 6:30.

Attention all members of National Honor Society...  Our last meeting of the year is scheduled for tomorrow after school in the Forum.  At this meeting, senior members can just turn in their service logs and leave, and then juniors will hold elections for next year's officers.  For service logs, you can also turn them in at Mr. Smith's desk in the science office anytime before the end of the school year.  Juniors interested in running for office do not need to register ahead of time, but they should plan to speak about their qualifications for approximately one minute.  See you tomorrow at 2:25 in the Forum!

A reminder to all business students who recieved an invitation for the Business Department recognition dessert banquet.  The banquet will be held tomorrow night at 6:30 in the cafeteria.

Come see the best actors in school in their final performance of the year as the Company show is presented Wednesday May 8th at 7:00 p.m.  Come early to see the improv show at 6 p.m. Admission is free, you won't want to miss it.

Hey Warriors, Prom tickets will be available all week in the cafeteria for this year's 2013 Prom. Stop by the table in the cafeteria April 29th through May 3rd and buy your tickets for $35 dollars. Tickets will be $40 the night of the Prom.

Attention current AP students!  If you missed the pre-registration meeting, you MUST come by the guidance center this week to complete the pre-registration paper work.  If the pre-registration paper work is not completed by the end of this week, you will NOT be able to take an AP test.  It is very important that you see Mrs. Talen in the Guidance Center as soon as possible!

AP Students, payment for any AP tests must be received by the end of this week in order for you to take an AP test.  If payment for AP tests have not been received by Friday, May 3rd you will not be permitted to take the test.  Please see the bookkeeper for further details on payment.

Athletics

Good job by the AHS girls golf team at Rolling Hills.  The team took second place overall with Claudia Davis shooting a 71 to take second place and Holly Schaefer shooting a 76 to finish sixth.

The Varsity lacrosse team defeated Chatfield last night with a final score of 16 - 3. Way to go Warriors! The team has only two more regular season games so come out and support on Wednesday at 4:30 at Kent Denver, and on Saturday at LPS stadium versus Regis at 10:00 a.m!
 

Congratulations to the freshman baseball team!  They earned another victory in their 9 and 2 season with a win over Mullen.  The bats were hot!  Sixteen hits by the Warriors.  Dalton Keasling had four RBI's and David Harrell had a triple.  The next game is scheduled Wednesday at Arapahoe.  Stop by after school to cheer on your Warriors!

Today is the last dual home meet for our #4 ranked Warriors Boys Swimming and Diving, against the #2 ranked Cherry Creek Bruins.  This is going to be a great contest today at 4:30 p.m. -- here at AHS.  Come and cheer your Warriors and celebrate their great season so far--10 Warriors have already qualified for State!    Go Warriors--claim your lane! 

The Arapahoe Quarterback Club will host the Annual Kick Off Meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in the Forum. This is a mandatory meeting for all parents to find out about registration, summer programs and buy some discounted Warrior gear.

General Announcements

Hey Warriors, Prom tickets will be available all week in the cafeteria for this year's 2013 Prom. Stop by the table in the cafeteria April 29th through May 3rd and buy your tickets for $35 dollars. Tickets will be $40 the night of the Prom.

Do you like the show "Whose Line is it Anyway?" Well, Arapahoe is going to have its own improv comedy show on stage May 8th at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium.  Come see the Theatre Topics class perform for you as they prep for the district competition, then stay for the Company show that starts at 7:00.

Athletics

Congratulations to the Varsity girls' lacrosse team for their stunning victory over Chatfield on Saturday. Chatfield was ahead 12-10 at halftime, and throughout the second half. With 2 minutes left in the game, Arapahoe scored two goals to tie the game, 12-12.  During overtime, the Chargers scored one goal, followed by two goals by the Warriors, with the game winning goal scored by Alexy DaHarb on an assist from Kate Englert. The defense played a particularly superb game.  Led by Goalie, Brooke Engel, with eight saves, defenders Lindsay Sugo, Kendall Cooke, Carey Kocur, Lauren Carpenito, Hannah Heurlin and Lindsay Ansay held the Chargers scoreless in the second half.  The whole offense played well, also, led by Alexy Daharb with six goals. Way to go, Warriors!

Congratulations to the JV Black boys lacrosse team who won 7-5 against Chatfield Saturday! If you want to see the boys play again, come out to Denver City Park as they battle against Denver East at 4:30! Bring home another win Warriors!

Come out and support your Varsity boys lacrosse team tonight on Senior night as they take on Chatfield at 6:00 at LPS stadium!

Lower JV tennis match has been moved to Columbine HS today at 3:30.

Athletics

The Arapahoe swim and dive team won a close meet against Smoky Hill last night, beating the Buffaloes by a score of 101 to 85. The next swim and dive meet is this Tuesday against Cherry Creek at the Arapahoe Pool. This will be the most exciting meet of the regular season, so come out and support the team.  Tuesday's meet is the last home meet and also senior recognition night, hope to see everyone there!

The varsity lacrosse team came out victorious as they defeated the mountain vista team last night 15 - 6  Come out to LPS for senior night on Monday to cheer on the team as they take on Chatfield. Keep up the good work!

The Varsity Tennis Team defeated Eaglecrest 7-0 yesterday. Come out and support both the Varsity and Junior Varsity on Saturday morning at 10:00. This is their last home match. Varsity plays at the Araphaoe courts and JV will be playing at Powell. 

Congratulations to the Girls' Varsity lacrosse team on their victory over Smoky Hill yesterday afternoon.  The offense was unstoppable, leading the team out to a 13 - 0 halftime lead.  The end result was an 18 - 0 shut out.  Freshman attacker Riley Cooke scored a hat trick, and senior captain, defender, Lindsay Sugo, scored one goal, had 2 draw controls and 4 ground balls, covering both the offensive and defensive sides of the field.  Many other Warriors scored goals and assists to contribute to this Centennial League win.  Way to go, Warriors!

Tomorrow, Saturday, all three of the Girls lacrosse teams have games against Chatfield.  The Gold Team kicks off the day at 10:00 a.m., followed by JV at 11:30.  Then Varsity plays at 1:00 p.m.  All three games are at Newton Middle school.  Please come out and support your Warriors. Beat the Chargers, Arapahoe!

General Announcements

Get out and vote today for next year's Student Council officers.  Voting will take place all day in the cafeteria.

Drama Club meets today after school to vote on awards for the end of the year.  We will meet briefly right after school in the auditorium to fill out the awards ballot.  This is the last meeting of the year for seniors, see you there.

Congratulations to the following students for their participation in this year's JEM Debate Scholarship competition. Placing first and earning a $300 scholarship was Lizzie Stephani. Runner-up was Angie Mock --she will receive a $200 scholarship. Larson Ross placed third and earned a $100 scholarship.

Athletics

The Varsity and JV Tennis Teams defeated Mullen yesterday. The Varsity won 7-0 and the JV won 14-0. The Varsity plays Eaglecrest today at the Arapahoe courts starting at 3:30. Come out and support the team. 

This afternoon the Girls' Varsity and JV Lacrosse teams will battle Smoky Hill at Newton Middle School.  Game time is 4:30 p.m. for Varsity and 6 p.m. for JV.   Please come out and support our Warriors.

General Announcements

Hey Warriors!  It's the night you've been waiting for!  The Prom Talent Show is tonight at 5:00 and 7:00.  There's some amazing talent for you to see.  Tickets are $5 and are on sale today during both lunches and at the door tonight.  Come and enjoy the show!

Congratulations to all students that competed at the FBLA State Competition in Vail this week. Fifteen students placed in the top 10 and 6 of those students qualified for the FBLA National Competition in Aneheim, California this summer.  

Tomorrow is the Drama Club meeting where we vote on the awards for the year.  If you are a Drama Club member, make sure you attend so you vote can be counted.  This will be our last drama club meeting with the seniors.  Don't miss it.

Good Morning Warriors . . . This Friday, April 26th, will be the last day for mercy charges in the cafeteria.  Beginning Monday, April 29th, you must put money in your account, either cash, check or on line.  OR you may bring cash.  Your accounts will not be allowed to be negative.  NO MONEY, NO FOOD SALE.  Littleton Public Schools thanks you for your cooperation.

This evening all three Girls' lacrosse teams have games.  The JV lacrosse team will play Cherry Creek at 6:00 p.m. at Newton Middle School.  The Varsity team plays Cherry Creek at 7 p.m. at LPS Stadium.  The Gold will play Smoky Hill at 7:30 p.m. at the Stutler Bowl.  Please come out and support the girls' lacrosse teams tonight.  Go Arapahoe, beat the Bruins and the Buffaloes!
