General Announcements

If you paid for an SBA pass but your ID does not say SBA on it this message is for you.  We are now set up to re-print ID's.  Take your current ID to Mrs. DeBow in the guidance office and she will give you a new ID with the SBA pass printed on it.

Wild Warrior Women, please remember to fill out the size spreadsheet and get your money turned in by today at 3 p.m. if you would like to participate. 
The yearbook deadline for senior photos and bios is Thursday, Sept. 12. We will not use your student ID photo, so be sure to take a formal portrait.  If you need a quick and inexpensive yearbook photo, we will have a professional photographer on campus on Sept. 3rd and 4th. See Mr. Anderson in the journalism Room E-8 for details. Sign up now!

Attention to those applying for the free and reduced lunch program: you need to get your applications in  as soon as possible. The policy has been changed and you will not be able to get lunches on a grace period until you are approved.  Turning in a form will not allow you a free or reduced meal that day until you are approved.  Please see the Cafe Manager Mrs. Lawrence for information.

Athletics

A Big Congratulations to both the Varsity and JV softball teams for their big wins against Heritage. The Varsity win was a wonderful display of teamwork with excellent pitching, solid defense and dynamite offense.  The JV team had a great come from behind win by scoring 10 runs in the last inning.  Nice work ladies. Good Luck next Wednesday against Mullen.

Congrats to the Boys JV Soccer team who defeated Lakewood 4-3 yesterday.

Congratulations to the Boys Varsity soccer team who defeated Lakewood last night 1 - 0.
Congrats to the Sophomore, JV, and Varsity volleyball teams for their great wins over Heritage last night.  The crowd was awesome, thanks to everyone who came out to cheer on the team!

Arapahoe will travel to LPS Stadium tonight to take on Heritage in a cross-town rivalry game at 7pm. We will be the visiting team therefore EVERY STUDENT must purchase a ticket to attend the game. Tickets will go on sale in the cafeteria during lunch today.  Student tickets will be $3 and adult tickets $5.  Let's dominate the stadium with Warrior Pride!  Please come decked out in "all black" for the game!  Go Warriors!!!

Arapahoe Fans, don't forget to stop by Qdoba at South Glenn immediately following tonight’s varsity football game for the 5th Quarter Party. There will be a $6 meal deal for Arapahoe players, students and fans.

Class ring orders will be accepted today and tomorrow in the cafeteria during lunches  - order packets are available in the counseling office.

The Senior class photo has been rescheduled. The new date and time for the photo is Tuesday, September 10th at 7:50 a.m.  Please mark this in your student planners.

Congratulations to the Varsity softball team for their come-from-behind win against Smoky Hill yesterday.  The Warriors were down 2 to 0 going into the 6th inning when sophomore Dasia Vavrik stepped into the box and hit a GRAND SLAM!  The Warriors won the game 4 to 2. Your Lady Warriors are back in action today against Regis. Come down to deKoevand Park at 4 p.m. to cheer them on.

Athletics

Congrats to the Varsity and JV softball teams for their big wins on Saturday against Overland.  Hot bats and great team play by both teams are what led the Lady Warriors to victory. Come out tomorrow and support the Lady Warriors as they take on Smoky Hill. The varsity game is at deKoevand Park at 4 p.m. and the JV game is here at Arapahoe at 4:30 pm. Good luck Warriors!
The Arapahoe High Girls Lacrosse Team will play Fall Lacrosse.   We welcome all grades and encourage the new freshman to sign up online at the South Suburban website (sspr.org).    Participation in Fall lacrosse is purely voluntary, and does not have any effect on team placement in the Spring.  There will not be any practices.  This will provide an opportunity for those who are not involved in other activities on to get a lacrosse stick in their hands in the Fall, and to get to know other lacrosse players.  The games will be on Saturdays beginning on September 7th and ending on October 19th.  Registration now is open until the deadline of today.  You may see a registration deadline of August 16th on the South Suburban website, but South Suburban has left registration open for Arapahoe until the 30th.  Please register on-line on the South Suburban website (sspr.org).  Indicate that you will be playing on the Arapahoe high school team.  You will pay the fee directly to South Suburban as part of the registration process.  The game schedule and team assignments will be distributed no later than September 1st.   Go Warriors!!

Happy Friday Warriors!!  Cafe specials today are: cheeseburger, chicken parmesan sandwich, and orange chicken w/rice.  Lunch today: PIZZA!! and fish sandwich, variety of cold sandwiches, salads, and fresh fruit/veggies.  New items will be featured soon Warriors, so keep listening to the announcements.  Just in case you missed breakfast, for $1.00 you can get a bowl of cereal and a milk to keep you going . . . don't forget we have those famous breakfast burritos that sell out quickly.  We open at 7:00 a.m. and hope to see you!!

If you are interested in auditioning for the fall play, Romeo and Juliet or you would like to work on a technical crew, sign up sheets are now posted in the theatre hallway by Room E-15.  For more information see Mr. Ahern.

Warrior Golf is in Full Swing! Congratulations to our Varsity Warrior Golf Team for placing second at the Sunday Devil Invitational and at the Meadow Hills League meet.
