General Announcements

Hey Warriors!  Today is the last day to bring in canned food for the food drive!  Help us support Field Elementary.

All FBLA applications are due today.  

As promised it is time to announce the winners of the candy filled pumpkin jar in the library and the staff candy jar in the main office. And the winners are . . .  Junior, Nick Thompson with the correct guess of 74 and Mr. Swomley with the closest guess of 65. The correct number was 66.  Please come to the library to pick-up your prize!  We want to thank everyone who participated!  Congratulations Nick & Mr. Swomley​.

SKYLER: You know what’s spooky?
RICK: There are still tickets available for the fall play Noises Off!
SKYLER: Tickets are being sold during lunch, but they can also be bought online. They are $5.00 for students, and $7.00 for adults. To find out more details, look on Mr. Ahern’s teacher page.
RICK: Noises Off is showing November 6th, 7th, and 8th, at 7:00 p.m., as well as a matinee performance on the 8th at 2:00 p.m.

Hey Key Clubbers:  Please don't forget to come to the Trick-or-Treat Street tomorrow right here at Arapahoe.  We will be meeting in the cafeteria at 12:00 noon.  Be sure to bring a bag of candy and any decorations for your room.  It will be a spooktacular time!

Sophomores, if you registered to take the Aspire test, it will be taking place tomorrow! Please note that the classroom assignments have changed, so you will need to check the classroom assignment list, which is posted in the cafeteria.tomorrow you need to arrive by 7:30 a.m. and enter the building through the east entrance. Remember to bring two #2 pencils, a calculator, and your student ID.

​​Remember, seniors, CMAS testing begins Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 7:30 a.m.  Classes begin at 11:35.  For freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, there are optional activities offered during the morning.  Please consult the bell schedule on the website for additional information.  Buses will pick up at regularly scheduled times and also pick up 4 hours after the regularly scheduled time if you are not attending any morning sessions.  Lunch will also be served beginning at 11:00.

You can now reserve the Group Study Rooms in the Library in advance online. Visit the AHS website and click on the link under the Library tab to check out the calendars to see when they're available, and then fill out the Google Form to request a room.  You can still reserve them in person at the circulation desk and, even if you reserve a room online, you'll still need to check in at the circulation desk when you arrive to use your room.

Does a steaming hot burrito from Chipotle sound good right now?  For this week only, if you submit prose, poetry, or artwork to the Muse magazine, your name will be entered in a drawing for a $20 Chipotle gift card!  Check the Muse web page for how to submit--and stay hungry, Arapahoe!

Hello all math students.  The UNC math competition is fast approaching.  The first round will be held at AHS on Wednesday, November 5th from 2:30-4:00 in Room S8.  The second round is Saturday, January 31st at UNC in Greeley, CO.  For more information and a practice contest, please see your math teacher or Mr. Cadwallader.

Lost and Found:  Please check the table in the cafeteria for clothing items and the Attendance Office for smaller items.  After today, all items will be donated.​

Athletics

Congratulations to Courtney Cissell and Brooke Dreier on making it to the 5A Gymnastics State Championship. Come support the gymnasts today at 3:00 p.m. at Thornton High School. Hope to see you there!

General Announcements

Congratulations to team Australia, the 2014 DECA dodgeball champions. After a subpar performance in last year's tournament, the team returned on a mission. Good job Australia! And a big thanks to all the teams, coaches, refs, and all the fans that came out to support the tournament.

‘tis near Halloween.”
Friday will be a “spooktacular day”!  All Hallow’s Eve will be a day full of viewing creative costumes and participating in holiday activities.  There will be a “Candy Cornhole Challenge” held during both lunches in the cafeteria.  Students may sign up for this exciting activity today during both lunches. One lucky winner from each grade level will receive a special prize for their participation in the challenge. Please keep in mind that the LPS District Dress Code will be enforced for this holiday.  No masks or hooded costumes and all face paint must be kept to a minimum – we must be able to recognize you!  BE POSITIVELY CREATIVE keeping in mind others feelings…

Varsity vs. Pomona today at 7:00 p.m. at North Area Athletic Complex (NAAC, 19500 W 64th Pkwy, Arvada, CO ) .  Come cheer your Warriors to the win! JV play tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. at AHS, and Freshman play tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. at Pomona High School (8101 W Pomona Dr, Arvada, CO).

What sport will you play this spring?  Girls lacrosse registration is being held tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the AHS Cafeteria.   Please bring your friends who have been playing others sports such soccer, cross country, basketball, etc.   Come join us and feel free to check out the AHS Girls Lacrosse Team website at http://girls.ahslax.org.  Go Warriors!

Hey Warriors...ARE YOU READY FOR SOME DODGEBALL??? Today is the annual DECA Dodgeball Tournament. Opening Ceremonies begin at 5:45 p.m. in the Main Gym. Come out and support your friends as they compete in the World Wide Dodgeball tournament. And did we mention there is a teacher team in the tournament. Admission to this fun and crazy event is on $3. We hope to see you all there.

Our six time State Champion Winter Guard is looking for qualified dancers, gymnasts, veteran performers and new aspiring members to be part of our team!  We will also be traveling to the Winter Guard Western Championships this year in California and can't wait to share this experience with you!  If you are interested in Winter Guard and would like to gain more performing experience, please attend our informational meeting  tonight from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the AHS Band Room.  If you have any questions, please talk to Coach Bailey or Mr. Funk.  See you there!

Would you like to pay off that library fine and at the same time donate to the Food Drive? Now until October 30th you will receive a .50 cent credit off your fine balance for every nonperishable food donation you bring in to the library.  Plus all money collected on fines during this time will be donated to the food drive.  To ensure that you receive credit toward your fine, personally hand your donation to any of the library staff. Help yourself while you help others.

Anyone interested in being a part of the 2015 Arapahoe Warrior Track and Field Team should attend an informational meeting today at 2:30 in Room S-14. We will be discussing the upcoming spring season as well as winter workouts and the indoor meet schedule. Come and be a part of the Arapahoe track family. If you are currently in a fall sport and unable to attend please see Coach Lienemann sometime before the end of the week.
