General Announcements

Students - We are as excited as you are for a spooktacular Halloween today! Don’t forget there will be lunchtime activities today with prizes, and find out who has best costume in each grade!

Are you guys in for a spooky treat? Concert Choir has teamed up with “The World’s Scariest Haunted House” to help feed local families. Bring 4 cans to the Haunted House for 3$ off tickets!! For more information go to worldscariesthauntedhouse.com

The Fall Food Drive has started! Arapahoe, we have a chance to contribute to bettering the wellness of multiple families right here in the Littleton community. This year all food we collect will be donated to families at East Elementary and Centennial Academy. The class of 2019 student leaders have distributed boxes throughout the school. Help fill those boxes up with non-perishable healthy foods. The Fall Food Drive runs now until November 9th

This month is Colorado Safe Schools Month! Please look to video announcements and tabling in the cafeteria for resources about health, wellness and safety. We need your help, students! Make a link in the "3 good things" paper chain and participate in "Delete Day" today. "Delete Day" is a special time for you to focus on cyber safety and delete pictures, followers, groups and applications that no longer benefit your life. Please see a member of the Guidance Team for more information. 

FBLA-it is the last week to sign up to be part of our community service, competition and connecting with others. Paperwork to join is in the Business office.

The winner of Mrs. B’s Candy Jar Count is Lauren Ramsey. Congratulations! Please come to the library and collect your loot!


Athletics

Your Varsity Boys’ Soccer team posted an opening round playoff victory yesterday against Rock Canyon High School. The score was 2-1 with Trevor Young and Max Gueller scoring the goals for the Warriors. Next home game is Wednesday 10/4, details to follow. Go Warriors!

Hey Warriors!  Winter sports registration is now open.  Pink Cards will be distributed in the cafeteria during lunches on WEDNESDAYS.  Please remember that you must have a current physical on file with the athletic office and be registered online before you can receive your pink card.

Early Signing Day will be November 11 at 11:05 am in the Arapahoe Cafeteria. Please stop by the Athletic Office for more information and to let the office know your intentions.

Come and support your Warrior Football Teams this weekend! Varsity plays tonight at 7pm vs Smokey Hill at LPS stadium (this is also senior night). Freshman play tomorrow at 9am and JV plays at 11:30 vs Smoky Hill at AHS. Go Warriors!

Please remember that costumes must be school appropriate: no masks or makeup that conceals your identity, and no weapons of any kind are allowed. On Friday we will have lunchtime activities with prizes and even judge the best costume!

The Fall Food Drive has started! Arapahoe, we have a chance to contribute to bettering the wellness of multiple families right here in the Littleton community. This year all food we collect will be donated to families at East Elementary and Centennial Academy. The class of 2019 student leaders have distributed boxes throughout the school. Help fill those boxes up with non-perishable healthy foods. The Fall Food Drive runs now until November 9th

Hey Warriors! The most exciting event of the year is almost here. The DECAween Dodgeball Tournament is tonight from 6 to 9 pm in both gyms. Admission is only $3 per person. During half-time we will have some fun Halloween games for spectators. So come cheer on your classmates as they compete for the coveted title of Dodgeball Champion. But wait there's more....we will be selling the original DECA cookies at the tournament. Don't miss out!

Congratulations to the 23 DECA students who brought home trophies at the Wolverine Invitational yesterday!  A big shout out to Henry Schaefer, Petra Sikorski, Haleigh Schultz, and Sarah Shortall for earning first place!

Attention Seniors: Make Up orders for the “Official” 2016 Graduation Announcements, Senior Accessories, Grad Gear and Class Rings will be this Friday during lunches in the Cafeteria. This will be our last “In-School” ordering event. Don't miss it!

Congratulations to the Warrior Marching Band and Color Guard for their excellent performances at the CBA State Marching Band Championships on Saturday, October 24, 2015!!! The band placed 6th in 5A competition with their highest score of the year - 79.70 points!!!! Thank you to everyone at Arapahoe for your support throughout the season.  Awesome job Warriors!!!!

Students! Come to the Financial Aid 101 Seminar given by DU's Assistant Director of Budget, Research, and Analysis  tonight at 6:00pm in the theater.  This presentation on the financial aid process is new to the Arapahoe High School community and will provide valuable information you need!  The presentation is an hour in length with an additional 30 minutes for questions. 


Athletics

Congratulations to your Centennial League Champion Varsity Boys’ Soccer team! They will be opening the state playoffs with a home game this Thursday at 3:30 on the varsity field against Rock Canyon High School. Come out to root on your Warriors! Please also congratulate your JV Boys - they finished with a 12-0-2 record, and the Fresh/Soph team, which finished with a 6-2-3 record. Great seasons Warriors!

Congratulations to the Varsity football team with their win over Rangeview Friday Night 14-7. With this win you clinch the League title! Way to go Warriors! Congratulations to the JV team with their win over Rangeview 31-12 and our Freshman football team with their win over Rangeview 38-8.

Congratulations to both the varsity girls and boys cross country teams for qualifying for state last Friday. The girl’s team finished in third place and the boys finished in first place with Mason Brevig coming in first overall. Good luck this Saturday at State!

Have you heard the news? Inherit the Wind is awesome! Don't miss out on seeing this show. Today is your last chance to buy tickets at lunch for the performances tonight and tomorrow. The show is at 7pm, and tickets are $5.00 for students and $7.00 for adults. What better way to spend your weekend than with a gripping courtroom drama?

GSA Club will be meeting today in E-5 at 2:30.  Hope to see you there!

Attention Warriors!  If you are playing in the DECAween Dodgeball Tournament then you are required to attend one of the two rules meetings.  These meetings will take place Monday at 2:30 in the Forum and Tuesday at 5:30 also in the Forum.  Attendance at one of these two meetings is required - you will not be able to play if you do not attend. 

Hey Key Clubbers! Thanks to all who have brought food bags in over the past several weeks. We've just learned that we can collect food bags through Monday of next week. If you signed up to bring a bag in this week and did not get a chance to bring it in yet, please make sure you bring it to Monday's meeting. This will be the final day for collecting food until after the new year. 

Seniors: The deadline to apply for the Daniels Scholarship Program is only four weeks away! The application will close on November 13.  Please see Ms. Schoonover for more information.

Do you play piano or know someone who does? Accompanists are needed for the December choir concert on December 9th and 10th with a mandatory rehearsal on December 8th. Please contact Ms. Summers for further details. 

Good luck to the Warrior Marching Band and Color Guard as they compete in the CBA 5A State Marching Band Championships this weekend!!!  The band and guard is currently ranked 6th in the state in 5A and will perform at10:00 AM in semi-final competition on Saturday morning at Hughes Stadium in Fort Collins.  Please come out and support your Warrior Marching Band and Color Guard!!!

Hey Warriors! Your Varsity Warrior football team plays tonight at 7:00 pm against Rangeview at LPS stadium. Come cheer them on! Come out and support your freshmen football team tomorrow at 9 am on the AHS field against Rangeview and JV at 11:30. Link Crew will provide free donuts, bagels and Starbucks coffee. Your freshmen football team is currently 4-1. Come cheer them on to another win. Go Warriors!

Varsity Volleyball lost a tough battle last night against Cherokee Trail in 4 games...JV and Sophomores both had victories. Congrats to the Sophomores who were undefeated in league play. There is a game in Brighton on Monday, which is the last game for the lower levels. GO WARRIORS! Remember, any boys interested in playing volleyball in the spring need to sign up in Coach Wright's office in the Copy Room to get more information.​

All girls interested in playing for the Lady Warriors basketball team this winter, should come out to our last week of open gym before preseason camp begins next week. If you would like to try out for the team, please make sure you attend preseason camp next week. For any questions, please see Ms. Hancock in the Langauge Arts Department.

Great News Student Warriors!! This week is National School Lunch Week.  In observance of this special week, every time you purchase one breakfast meal and one lunch meal per day, your name will be entered in a raffle to possibly win a prize. One Grand Prize will be awarded:  A Portable Bluetooth Speaker, and two Runner-Up Prizes: iTunes Gift Cards. Winners will be announced next week.  See you at Lunch!!
  
Attention Art Club members! We will have a meeting tomorrow after school in room E-11 to discuss our next steps, and projects we will be working on for the remainder of the semester. New members are always welcome, so feel free to bring a friend! See you tomorrow!

Attention Warriors!  If you are playing in the DECAween Dodgeball Tournament then you are required to attend one of the two rules meetings.  These meetings will take place Monday at 2:30 in the Forum and Tuesday at 5:30 also in the Forum.  Attendance at one of these two meetings is required - you will not be able to play if you do not attend.
