Good Morning Warriors, for our pep assembly this afternoon: just a reminder that backpacks and belongings are not allowed in the gym for safety and security reasons. You will be dismissed from the assembly back to your 6th hour class to retrieve your belongings.

 General Announcements
If you ordered student photos, please come to the Attendance/Activities Office to pick them up during your off periods.

Academic Letter Night recipients, please come see Mrs. Clark in the main office to pick up your certificate and academic letter. 

 It’s the Friday before homecoming! Do you have a date yet? Are you going to the game? Don’t forget- the Homecoming parade is tomorrow morning at 10 AM starting in the AHS West parking lot, the dance will be in the main gym from 8-11 pm. Warriors, you’ve been showing your spirit all week this week. We can’t wait to see which class wins it all at the assembly with the tug-of-war and the caterpillar race.

There will be NCAA/NAIA Compliance Orientation on Tuesday, October 4th during lunches in the Forum for all Juniors and Seniors interested in competing in athletics on the college level.  For more information and to sign up for this meeting, please stop by either the Athletic or Guidance Office.

Would you like a pair of your own Arapahoe High School sunglasses?  FBLA will be selling Sunglasses and black and gold beaded necklaces during lunch in the cafeteria this week.  Come show you Warrior Spirit!

This Monday, the Post Grad Center will host the University of Miami, the University of Tulsa, the University of Puget Sound, Arizona State University, Swarthmore College, and the Ohio State University.

Juniors (and interested Sophomores) registration for PSAT is now open! Come to the Guidance Department and sign up with Mrs. Ives. Cost for PSAT is $18.
Registration is from now until Oct. 13th.   PSAT test will be happening Wednesday morning, Oct. 19th.  We are encouraging every junior to take this test.  The PSAT is the only exam to qualify a student for National Merit Scholar Status, when taken during junior year.


Athletics

Congrats to your Arapahoe Volleyball Program on their sweep against Smoky Hill last night! Varsity swept in 3 sets...come out and support us as we take on Cherry Creek on Wednesday. GO WARRIORS!

Love seeing all these stars today, way to transform the hallways of Arapahoe into the sidewalks of Hollywood. Thank you all for coming to the DECA BBQ and the bonfire!  Tomorrow will be the homecoming assembly and the homecoming football game. We hope to see you all there. Tomorrow, start the day out right by dressing up in your spirit wear- Freshman and Juniors wear old gold, Sophomores and Seniors wear black.

Athletics

Attention volleyball fans! We have another home match tonight against the Smoky Hill Buffs! Come out to support out team as they begin league play.  Sophomore starts at 4, JV and Freshmen begin at 5, with Varsity taking the court at 6.15! GO WARRIORS!

The varsity boys tennis team wrapped up their regular season with a 6-1 win over Columbine.  The team finished the season with a 10-2 record and a 2nd place finish in the Centennial League.  Next up, is the regional tennis tournament next week.  The undefeated JV tennis team finishes their season today with an away match against Columbine. 
   
"Congratulations to the girls cross country Varsity and JV teams for sweeping the Dakota Ridge Invite yesterday. Of the 15 teams on the line, the girls were the best of them all. The boys team is running a split squad this week and the JV runners managed to finish 4th in the Varsity race and 2nd in the open race. Good luck to the Varsity Boys this Saturday at the Mountain Vista/Metro State Invite"

Woah warriors, you look outta this world. Tonight, come to the DECA BBQ at 5:30 and join us on the Varsity Baseball field under the stars for the bonfire at 7. Tomorrow, we’re gonna reach for the stars and dress up as your favorite celebrity. Please remember no masks, and only partial face paint.

On Thursday, the Post Grad Center will host Oklahoma State University, Azusa Pacific University, Boise State University, Vanderbilt University, Willamette University, Carroll College, Purdue University, and Rice University.  

Attention current members of National Honor Society... we have our first club meeting of the school year today after school in the Forum.  Please join us for some quick but important info right after school!

 There is an FBLA meeting today after school in room E1287.  Be sure to come and participate in the scavenger hunt and sign up for the Shred-A-Thon event.


Athletics

Yesterday, the Boys’ Varsity Soccer team was victorious over Grandview High School by a score of 3-1. Caleb Loring, Mason Gueller, and Zach Tripp scored for Arapahoe. Stellar defensive work was led by Jeremy Belin, Evan Bunch, JJ Carl, Jacob Vogel, and Trevor Young. The Junior Varsity lost a tight game to Grandview. Great effort Warriors!
Congrats to the sophomore and Varsity volleyball teams for their Homecoming victory over Grandview last night! League play begins tomorrow against Smoky Hill. Be sure to come to our home game tomorrow against the Red and Green Buffs! GO WARRIORS!

Guest forms for the homecoming dance are due today by 3 pm.  Your form has to be fully completed and include a legible photo of your guest.  Please  see Mrs. Railey in the attendance office with any questions. 

Are you interested in a career in the medical field?, be sure to attend the presentation in the forum today during 4th and 5th periods. For more information, please see Mr. Sawyer in the Business Department.

 The 1st  TSA Informational meeting is today after school from  2:25- 3:00 in Room E1287.  See you there!"

*    Calling all prospective divers!  There will be a quick meeting today after school in the forum.  Anyone interested in representing Arapahoe on the diving team please attend.  If you have a background in gymnastics, trampoline or just like flipping and twisting, please attend!  The meeting will start at 2:29.  If you are currently participating in another sport, do not miss that practice!

*    Your Varsity Boys’ Soccer team returns for a home match against Grandview High School this afternoon at 4:30. The Junior Varsity will play Grandview at 4:30 as well, on the JV field. Come cheer your Warriors to victory!
