Interested in playing in the FBLA Coed Volleyball Tournament?  Sign up packets will be available in the Business Office this Thursday, March 3rd.  Teams will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Be sure to grab a packet before they run out!  

Are you a senior boy? Are you talented, intelligent and charismatic? Do YOU have what it takes to be the next Mr. Arapahoe? If so, please pick up an application from the Activities Office! They are due March 18th!

Well it seems the luck of the Irish was with Rachel Kelley last week as she was the latest winner in the AHS Library's We Heart Digital contest. Wanna be a winner like Rachel? All you need to do is download the free BryteWave K-12 app and checkout an e-book or audio book to be entered in this Thursday's drawing. It's easy to do. If you have any questions, just drop by the library and talk to Mr. Murphy or Mrs. Rice.

Athletics

The Arapahoe Varsity Girls Basketball Team is headed to the Sweet Sixteen Playoffs! They earned the win in Round 2 Play Offs against Fossil Ridge Friday night 45-42! Scoring for the Warriors were Katie Crowley (16 points), Maddie Matthews (11 points), Macy Ziegler (10 points) and Jordyn Vega (8 points), rebounds were lead by Eliana Kearby! Great team effort for the win! Please come out in your black and gold and support this Tuesday night at 7pm as they take on ThunderRidge High School at ThunderRidge. They need Warriors standing behind them loud and proud!

Hey Warriors - spring sports officially begin today after school.  You must have a pink card to practice.  If you have not received confirmation that you have a pink card, please stop by the athletic table in the cafeteria during lunches today to make sure you are cleared to practice.  You must be registered online and have a current physical on file with the athletic office in order to get a pink card for practice today.

The test will be over in time for you to attend your first hour class.

Warrior basketball fans!  Our boys made it to the next round of the playoffs, with a thunderous dunk from Justice Tiritas!!  Come support the team tomorrow at Rock Canyon at 3:00pm.  We need to pack the house!

General Announcements

Congratulations to DECA on their record setting performance at the State Competition!  We came home with 8 honor mentions, 26 finalists, and 14 national qualifiers!  Great job!!

Attention boys volleyball players! Anyone interested in playing volleyball this spring must attend tryouts. Tryouts are being held from 6-9pm at Littleton High School all this week. No forms or fees, just show up ready to play! Remember that tonight is the Parent Meeting at 8pm at Littleton. See Coach Wright for further details.

Congratulations to the Unified team on winning their final home game against ThunderRidge on Monday night! The score was 70-54. Some of the stand outs of the game were Logan, Kyle, and Gwen.


Athletics

The Arapahoe Varsity Girls Basketball team won their first round playoff game against Pomona last night 57-39. Top scorers were Maddie Matthews 20 points and Katie Crowley 13 points. Top rebounders were Maddie Matthews, Amanda Brenner & Jordyn Vega. There was a nice block by Ellie Kearby. Nice team work to gain the win! The next playoff game is Friday night at Fossil Ridge High School. Thank you to the MOWB (Men of Women's Basketball), Cheers & Toms for the support!

Hey Warriors!  Your boys basketball team will host Rocky Mountain tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Gym for their first round of the 5A tournament.  No SBA passes will be accepted at tournament games.  Ticket prices are $7 for adults and $5 for students.  We will be pre-selling tickets for the game during lunches in the cafeteria.  Good luck to the team as they travel down the road of the tournament.  Go Warriors!!

Tennis Camp will start at 3:15 today due to the Faculty Meeting.  Tennis players are encouraged to go out to the courts after school and practice until camp starts at 3:15.

Attention NHS club members... Our club photo will be taken in the main gym tomorrow at 9am.  Please be there on time, ready to smile pretty for the camera.

It happened again -- Another student won a Chipotle ten dollar gift card simply by downloading an e-book or digital audio book using the AHS Library's BryteWave App. Friday's winner was Johnathon Henke. If you want a chance to feed your mind and your stomach, just do as Johnathon did by downloading an e or audio book by Friday morning in order to be entered in this week's We Heart Digital contest. Go to the Library's website to learn more about the app and how to access the AHS collection of over 1,500 e-books and more than 100 digital audio books. If you have any questions, please ask the library staff.

Congratulations to the Arapahoe TSA team that competed well in this weekend’s TSA conference. Over 1500 High School Student from across the state participated. Arapahoe came home with two 1st places  and a 2nd place finish.  We are proud of each and every one of you!  Special recognition goes to The Tech Bowl Team of Sanat Mehta, Connor O'Meara, and Ryan Phillips for taking 1st place, and The Children's Story Team of Jack Huston, Joe Miserlian, Aiden Sweezey, and Sam Huston for also taking 1st place. Connor O'Meara and Ryan Phillips also captured 2nd place in Underwater ROV event. Great Job!!

Hey Seniors! This is a reminder that your graduation announcement order will be ready for pick up in the cafeteria during lunches today. If you have a remaining balance due it must be paid in full prior to picking up your order. No personal checks are accepted at delivery.

Congratulations to the Warrior Winter Guard for placing 1st at their first two competitions of the season!  Their show, "The Perfect Equation", is becoming a true masterpiece scoring 71.9 points so far!  Way to go students and staff!!!
This weekend the Speech and Debate team competed at the Raptor Rumble at Eaglecrest High School. Congratulations to Elizabeth Eshleman for placing 6th in Drama! Also, the speech and debate team will be holding its elections tomorrow after school so, team members make sure to stop by and place your vote.

Hey Warriors! Registration for the 3-on-3 March Madness Basketball tournament is happening this week. Each team will consist of two boys and two girls, with only 1 boy and 1 girl Arapahoe basketball player allowed per team. First come first serve! There are only 20 spots available! Pick up your registration packet in the Business Office so you can be a part of this exciting new event and help a good cause.

Are you interested in cars? Do you want to explore the world of a mechanic? Then sign up for Arapahoe Community College’s Automotive Technology program. It counts for both high school and college credit. More details can be found in the counseling office or on the ACC website.

Be a winner to both your mind as well as your stomach by entering the AHS Library's We Heart Digital contest. Simply download the free BryteWave app and check out an e-book or digital audio book. Doing this automatically enters your name in today’s drawing for a ten dollar gift card to either Lark Burger, Einsteins, Chipotle, or Anthony's Pizza. Ask the library staff if you need assistance with the process. 

College Night is this coming Monday, February 22nd from 6-8 pm.  We are currently planning for 500 students and parents.  If you are coming and have not yet completed the google response form, please reference your email or click here to go directly to the google response form to respond today.    

Attention Students: Please check the table in the cafeteria for any lost and found items that may be yours. For smaller items, please check the Attendance Office.


Athletics

Tonight is SENIOR night for our Lady Warrior Basketball Team! They take on Cherokee Trail here at Arapahoe at 7pm. Please come out and support your team and school! JV game begins at 5:30pm. Also, Congrats to our C Team-this group of hard working athletes finished 3rd in their league tournament!

Attention: Calling all girls interested in playing tennis this Spring.  There will be an open tennis court drop in next week Monday thru Wednesday from 2:45 - 4:30.   Please check the tennis website for details or stop by and talk with Coach Leyden. Monday is only for new players to the AHS team. Tuesday and Wednesday are for all players.  If any returning Varsity players would like to help out on Monday, please see Coach Leyden.

Congratulations to Arapahoe Wrestler Tyler Eaton. Tyler wrestled very well last Friday and Saturday in the regional tournament.  Tyler's success has advanced him to the State Wrestling Championship Tournament at the Pepsi Center, February 18th through 20th.  Please congratulate him and wish him well at State!
