General Announcements

Attention freshman!  Hearing and Vision testing is taking place next week starting Monday, April 4th to Thursday, April 7th.  You will be testing during your U.S. History class.  Please be sure to wear and/or bring your glasses or contacts to school next week. 

If you are interested in running for a class officer position in your Arapahoe Student Council, come to one of our Intent to Run meetings next Tuesday at 6:45am in the Forum or that same day at 2:30pm in C12. You don't have to be a current member of Student Council to run for office, so come to the meeting to find out about Student Leadership. See Mrs. Binney or Ms. Kershaw if you have any questions.

Hey Arapahoe Artists! This is the last week to submit artwork to this year's Art Attack!  If you are interested in entering please swing by the art office and pick up your entry forms.  Tomorrow is the last day to submit art work, so don’t wait.  For more information or answers to any questions please see Mrs. Hawthorne, Mrs. Svigel, Ms. Davidson, or Ms. King.

Attention Key Clubbers! Summer Break is right around the corner; however, we still have many important events this year.  Throughout this entire week, Key Club will be collecting children books for homeless families across Colorado. If you have any spare books in the back of your closet or basement, please donate them in the social studies department. Additionally, we have another Jiminy Wicket event this Saturday from 10AM to noon at Powell Middle School. It is very important for our previous attendees to be there, to help ease the effects of Dementia for our guests. See you there!

Food Trucks are coming to AHS today in the circle drive today from 5:15 to 7pm. Come taste the International Food from Crepes to South African Food. See you there with all of your friends! After getting your food come watch the FBLA Volleyball game for only $3.  Game time is 6pm!

Congratulations to the girls Freshman/Sophomore soccer team who defeated cross town rival Heritage 3-1 last night! Congrats to the ABK girls varsity team as well on their 2-1 victory over Heritage! Izzy Benasso and Audrey Weiss both scored goals in the win. The team is now 4-1 this year. Warriors have two home games at AHS this week for all you ABK Superfans-Thursday at 4:30 and Saturday at 11am. Hope to see you there! Go ABK!

The Girls Lacrosse teams are back in action today as they travel to face off against Air Academy. Varsity plays at 4:30 and JV plays at 6 pm.  Good Luck Ladies!!

The Warrior Varsity Soccer team meets rival Heritage tonight at 6 p.m. at LPS Stadium. Free ABK t-shirts (while supplies last) to all students who come to the game and show their Arapahoe Student ID. Come out and cheer on the Warriors in this cross-town rival match up.  Go ABK!

Attention volleyball players! It's that time of year again...Spring Open Gyms will be on Tuesday nights from 7-9pm in the Auxiliary Gym. No fees or forms required, just come ready to play...please get there a little early to help set up nets. We look forward to seeing you back in the gym!

Come cheer on your Warrior swim team today at 4pm at Littleton High School when they face Littleton and Heritage. Go Warriors!

This is the last week to submit artwork for this year's Art Attack!  If you are interested in entering please swing by the art office and pick up your entry forms.  We will be collecting art work now through THIS Friday, so don’t wait.  For more information or answers to any questions please see Mrs. Hawthorne, Mrs. Svigel, Ms. Davidson, or Ms. King.

Bump! Set! Spike it! That's the way we like it! Come join FBLA at the FBLA Volleyball Tournament this Wednesday. There is still room for a couple more teams in the tournament.  If you still have a packet, be sure to turn it into the business department today! Food Trucks will also be at AHS on Wednesday in the circle drive from 5:15 to 7pm. Come taste the International Food from Crepes to South African Food.

Baseball season is here! We have games this week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 4:15. Stop by and cheer on your players while you have a snack at the concession stand. Hot dogs and hamburgers grilled fresh at every home game! Go Warriors!

Hey Warrior soccer fans! Come out and support the girls varsity soccer team in their game against Heritage tomorrow at 6 p.m. at LPS Stadium. Hey Warriors! Today is the last day of Warrior Week and it’s been a great one! Today is your last day to buy a Warrior Week T-Shirt so stop by during lunch and pick one up. Thanks for all of your support this week!  Warriors continue to show amazing generosity and support to worthy organizations year after year!

Attention Senior boys!!!!  Today is the last day to apply for Mr. Arapahoe! Do you have what it takes?  Get your applications in to the activities office before 2:30 to be considered for this exciting event.

The latest edition of The Herald magazine hit the news-stands yesterday. Get your copy from your 2nd period teacher, or look for copies in the cafeteria and the library.

The 12th Annual Art Attack is underway and the art department is now collecting pieces for the show.  If you are interested in entering please swing by the art office and pick up your entry forms.  We will be collecting art work now through Friday, April 1st so don’t wait.  For more information or answers to any questions please see Mrs. Hawthorne, Mrs. Svigel, Ms. Davidson, or Ms. King.

Athletics

Congratulations to the Girls Lacrosse team for their 2nd win this week!  The girls dominated in the March snow with a 10-9 victory over Regis.  Great team effort girls!!

The Arapahoe girls soccer team defeated Ft Collins 5-0 to move into the championship game of the Warrior Invitational. Audrey Weiss scored three goals with additional goals scored by Aly Decolati and Darby Engerman. Come out to LPS Stadium at 7 p.m. tomorrow and watch the team defend their championship title against Monarch. Go Warriors!

It is baseball season once again and there will be games nearly every day starting at 4 pm, after spring break. Stop by and cheer on your players while you have a snack at the concession stand. Hot dogs and hamburgers grilled fresh at every home game!

Warriors, please remember tomorrow is the Arapahoe Tribal Assembly at 9:30 AM.  The adjusted schedules are posted around the building on gold paper.  

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Warriors! The end of Warrior Week is tomorrow but you still have plenty of opportunities to support The Joshua School! Tonight come to Southglenn and eat dinner at Bad Daddy’s Burgers from 5:00 to 8:30.  They will generously donate a percentage of the profits to The Joshua School. Tomorrow you can also show your support by eating lunch at Tom & Chee. Stop by from 10:30 to 12:30 and a portion of the proceeds will go to The Joshua School. Don’t forget to wear your Warrior Week T-shirts tomorrow for Spirit Day which you can buy during lunch for $10!

Congratulations to the sophomore baseball team on their 9-6 victory over Regis last night! Way to go boys!

Congratulations to the Lady Warrior Varsity Soccer team on their win against Dakota Ridge in the Warrior Invitational last night.  The girls were led in the victory with a goal from Haley Archuleta, assisted by Aly Decolati and a goal from Kelsey Vogel.   Come out and support the team tonight in their match against Ft. Collins in the second round of the tournament at 7 p.m. at LPS stadium.  Go Warriors!

The JV girls lacrosse Warriors take on the Regis Jesuit Raiders today at 5:30 at Regis! Varsity plays at 7pm. Come join us to cheer them on to victory!

Warriors, please remember this Friday is the Arapahoe Tribal Assembly at 9:30 AM.  The adjusted schedules are posted around the building on gold paper.  

Hey Warriors, it’s the third day of Warrior Week! Stop by the student council table at lunch to buy your Warrior Week T-Shirts! Our charity week for The Joshua School is off to a great start! We have raised $1,800 so far, but our goal is $15,000. We have a long way to go in just three days, but we know we can make it happen! Warriors take care of one another, and the preschoolers at The Joshua School are Warriors who need our help! Let's work hard to meet our goal to help build them a new school! Tonight is the DECA Basketball and Silent Auction at 6:00. The silent auction will have amazing items including a Fitbit, a Soybu outfit and a weekend stay in a mountain cabin!  Tickets are just $5.  Afterwards, head over to Yogurtland for some dessert. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Joshua School. Tomorrow is “It Ain’t Easy Being Green Day” so show your St. Patrick’s Spirit by wearing green!

Congratulations to diver Sophomore Caleb Ives for qualifying for the State Championship Meet over the weekend!  Go Water Warriors!

The Warrior Invitational Soccer Tournament starts tonight at LPS stadium.  The varsity girls meet Dakota Ridge at 7 p.m. Please come out and support the team! 

Congrats to the Girls Varsity Lacrosse team on their win against Chatfield last night.  Senior Atlee Witt hit a buzzer beater to win it 14-13! Great job ladies!

Come on out TONIGHT at 7:00 pm to the Peter Barton Stadium at DU to watch your varsity lacrosse boys take on Denver East High School. This is our only scheduled game at the DU Stadium, home of the 2015 NCAA lax champions!   Great venue.  Great teams.  Great Warrior Spirit. Your Arapahoe JV Black lacrosse team will take on Denver East today at 4:30pm at Powell Middle School. On Friday night, kick-off your Spring Break with back to back lacrosse games vs. Regis.  Varsity plays at 6pm and JV Black at 8pm, both at Regis.  These are games you won't want to miss!!  Please come out  to cheer on your lacrosse boys, they need your AHS support!!

Happy Flower Power Day, Warriors! Today is the 2nd day of Warrior Week and we are just getting started. Don’t forget to stop by the student council table at lunch to buy your Warrior Week T-Shirts! Tomorrow is “Freak of Nature Day” so be sure to wear your wackiest and tackiest clothes. Tomorrow night is the DECA Basketball tournament and Silent Auction at 6pm.  The silent auction will have amazing items including a Fitbit, a Soybu outfit and a weekend stay in a mountain cabin! Hey Warriors! It’s Warrior Week! Show your support for The Joshua School by coming to the CU Buffoons and AHS Singers concert tonight at 7pm. Tickets will be sold at lunch today for $3, and at the door this evening for $5. Also, grab a slice of pizza for dinner at Anthony’s from 4pm to 9pm. A portion of the proceeds will support The Joshua School. Don’t forget to wear you 60’s and 70’s gear tomorrow for “Flower Power Day!” Also, stop by the student council table at lunch to buy your Warrior Week T-Shirts!

Congratulations to Maren Singer for being last week's winner in the AHS Library's We Heart Digital contest. Maren won a ten dollar gift card for Lark Burger. You may not have won a gift card, however, everyone is a winner if they are a reader. Thanks to all who participated. Remember, the BryteWave app is free and the library is adding e-book and digital audio book titles to its collection on a continuous basis.
