 General Announcements

*Congratulations to Arapahoe Climber Karson Hilgert for her 2nd place finish at the Denver Southeast Regional Championship competition yesterday. Both Karson and Jiro Moriyama have qualified for the State Championship competition and will be representing Arapahoe this Saturday at G1 Climbing Gym in Broomfield. Good luck climbers!


*Good luck to our AHS DECA students competing at the State Career Development Conference (SCDC) in Colorado Springs TODAY & TOMORROW.  There will be over 3,000 high school students competing in business, marketing, and finance. Go Warriors!


*Come check the Lost & Found tables in the cafeteria.  We have over 50 water bottles waiting to be claimed!


*Attention Sophomores and Juniors - Invitations to join National Honor Society were sent out to eligible sophomores and juniors.  Please check your email for instructions on completing the application.  Applications are due TOMORROW!  See Ms Price, Ms Dusto, or Ms Brock with questions.


*Warriors - do you like a good argument?  Come check out the AHS Speech & Debate Club.  We meet on Wednesdays at 2 times: 8:15am in the Library and 3:45pm in C1436 or across the hall C1438, depending on the week.  


*Warriors - new club alert! We have a dance club! Do you love to dance? Do you want to dance for your school but don't want a huge time commitment? If you do come to our interest meeting Monday, February 23rd after school in the Library.  Questions come see Mrs. Romero or Tahlea B. 


*Sophomores and Juniors- Northern Arizona University and University of Nebraska are coming to the Post Secondary Center on Wednesday, sign up in Scoir.  Seniors- new scholarship opportunities arrive everyday- stop into the PSC and pick up an application!



Athletics

*Congratulations to Lizzie Padilla, the new 5A CHSAA Girls 140lb Wrestling Champion!  Also, Congratulations to Daisy Padilla for placing 4th at the Wrestling Championships!


*Congratulations to our Centennial League Champions - our AHS Girls Varsity Basketball team beat Cherokee Trail on Saturday!   Now on to the playoffs!


*Warriors! Are you interested in being on the field at football games or on the court for volleyball and basketball games? Tryout for cheerleading! Your State and Nationally ranked cheer team team will be holding tryouts from April 21-23 . Please fill out an interest form and/or reach out to Coach Berry with any questions - mberry@lps.k12.co.us. We look forward to cheering with you soon!


*Calling all interested lacrosse players, the Boy's Lacrosse tryouts start TODAY! We will have tryouts Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (2/23-25th) from 8-10pm at the Arapahoe Turf.  Get registered with the athletic department and we'll see you there!

*Attention Sophomores and Juniors - Invitations to join National Honor Society were sent out to eligible sophomores and juniors.  Please check your email for instructions on completing the application.  Applications are due February 24th.  See Ms Price, Ms Dusto, or Ms Brock with questions.

*Warriors, our Girls Varsity Basketball team needs you to show up and be LOUD as they take on #1 ranked Cherokee Trail TOMORROW at 1:30pm at Overland High School.  Let’s pack the house and support your Warriors as they "Go for Gold"  in the Centennial League Championship!  Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students. Go Warriors!

*Congratulations to your Girls Swimming & Diving team who finished their season last night at the CHSAA 5A State Championships.  Your Warriors represented with a very strong 5th place team finish.  It was a true team effort with both swimmers and divers performing exceptionally!  A meet highlight was the 200 Free Relay team of Emme Andrews, McKenzie Luft, Naomi Mancherian, and McKinley Cain finishing as Second Team All State!  Congratulations to all our swimmers and divers on another great season!


*Calling all new and returning Flag Footballers!  Join us for an AHS Flag Football Interest meeting TODAY at 4:15pm in room E1287.  Learn about the program, offseason schedule, culture and expectations heading into year 3 of the program.  Newly interested athletes brought by returning players will be entered into a chance to win gear and equipment.  This is a player only meeting.  A parent meeting will occur closer to May. 


*Warriors - we need you TONIGHT!  Let’s pack the stands and cheer on our Girls Varsity Basketball team as they take on Overland @ HOME at 5:30pm.

*Congratulations to our Warrior Speech and Debate students John Eliot Fung who went to the final competition round twice in International Extemporaneous and Susie Benedict in Poetry Interpretation final round in recent Speech and Debate tournaments.  Our next Speech & Debate Tournament will be at Highlands Ranch High School this Saturday, February 21st.
