 General Announcements

*Freshmen - we are still doing Hearing and Vision screening TODAY & TOMORROW.  You will be called out during your U.S. History class for testing. Please be sure to wear your glasses or contacts to school.


*Hey Warriors! Are you a photographer, or interested in becoming one? If so, join the Arapahoe Photography Club! We meet TODAY and every other Thursday after school in room E-1288, so come check it out! No previous experience is necessary. If you're interested, look for the flyers around school to find our Google Classroom.


*Warriors - new club alert! We have a dance club! Do you love to dance? Do you want to dance for your school but don't want a huge time commitment? If you do come to our interest meeting Monday, February 23rd after school in the Library.  Questions come see Mrs. Romero or Tahlea B. 



Athletics

*Congratulations to our Varsity Cheerleading team on earning the bronze medal this weekend at the High School National Cheerleading Championships! We are so proud of your hard work and dedication. Be sure to stop and congratulate one of our incredible cheerleaders!


*If you are interested in playing Girls Golf this Spring, you and your parents must attend the Girls Golf Meeting TONIGHT at 6:00pm in the Forum.  Please see Coach Riordan in the World Language Office with any questions.


*Attention all girls interested in trying out for Girls' Soccer:  TODAY we will be having a kick-around at the AHS turf field right after school.  Bring cleats, running shoes, warm clothes, and a friend!  See you then! 


*Warriors, if you’re interested in playing baseball this spring, we have our optional pre-season camp beginning Tuesday, February 17th, after school.  Official tryouts begin February 23rd. Please see Coach Dollaghan for more details.

*In today’s What We Learn from Black History, we recognize and learn about Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett.  She is an immunologist who helped lead the development of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. She has made contributions to public health and mentored students in STEM fields. Dr. Corbett’s dedication and expertise continue to impact science and society. A Fun Fact about Dr. Corbett - she was named one of TIME’s 100 most influential people in 2021 and a quote from her - “Science can’t do everything, but it can do a lot.”

*Warriors - TOMORROW is the Skilled Trades Fair in the Post Secondary Center.  Visit with the Construction Industry Training Council at 9:55am,  Colorado Mountain College at 11:30am and WYO TECH at 1:00pm!  Learn about  hands-on careers in as little as 6 months and apprenticeships, certifications and degrees in high paying skilled trades.  Sign up in Scoir or stop into S1401 with questions.

*Congratulations to your Girls Swimming & Diving team who finished a very strong 2nd place at last weekend's Centennial League Championships.  The girls qualified an amazing 19 athletes to the CHSAA 5A Swimming & Diving Championships which will be held February 17th & 18th in Thornton. Congratulations to all of our Arapahoe Swimmers & Divers... way to represent with Warrior strength and Warrior pride!

*Warriors, come join us @ HOME, TOMORROW, February 7th from 8:00am-noon for the Unified Jamboree! There will be games, food, and skills challenges. We hope to see you there, go Unified!! 


*Attention Sophomores and Juniors - Invitations to join National Honor Society were sent out to eligible sophomores and juniors.  Please check your email for instructions on completing the application.  Applications are due February 24th.  See Ms Price, Ms Dusto, or Ms Brock with questions.


*Attention Freshmen! Hearing and Vision testing is taking place next week starting on Monday, February 9th. You will be tested during your U.S. History class. Please be sure to wear your glasses or contacts to school every day next week.


*Spring College Rep visits have started!  Next week Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design, Colorado Mountain College and the University of Alabama!  Sign up in Scoir!


*Hey Juniors and Seniors -  come to the Skilled Trades Fair on February 10th!  CITC-Construction Industry Training Council, Colorado Mountain College and WYOTech will be in the Post Secondary Center.  Do you want an apprenticeship in electrical, HVAC or plumbing or a certification, some in as little as 6 months, in welding, auto & diesel, carpentry, ski area operations & ski patrol, EMT, hospitality & culinary management and much more!  Sign up in Scoir or stop into S1401.

*Attention all Warriors, TONIGHT your top ranked Girls Basketball program will be celebrating Senior Night prior to tipping off against Cherry Creek! Come CELEBRATE our amazing seniors Ava Budler, Alexa LeDuff and Izzy Johnston. Let’s pack the stands and bring all of that Warrior energy and spirit!  Girls JV will play at 4:00 in the Aux gym.


*Come cheer on your Boys Basketball teams TONIGHT against Cherry Creek!  Varsity will play at 7:00pm and JV will play at 5:30 in the Aux gym.


*Good luck to your Arapahoe Girls Swimming and Diving team as they compete in the Centennial League Championships at HOME this weekend. Swimming preliminaries start TONIGHT at 5:30pm.  Diving will start Saturday morning at 9:00am, and swimming Finals will start at 3:00pm on Saturday.  Come out and support your Warriors! Good luck girls! Compete with pride and enthusiasm!"
