*Hey Warriors! Let’s overflow the food boxes for Field Elementary! Please bring non-perishables for collection through Friday, November 1st. Boxes are at all the entrances and items will also be collected at the Homecoming football game.

Again today is the orange plate that says Halloween! Good luck!

*Happy Halloween Warriors! Our 2019 Homecoming dance, trivia and virtual reality experiences is happening this Saturday from 8:00 to 10:30 PM. Tickets are on sale now during both lunches, and will be on sale for $15 until Friday. Tickets will be $20 at the door. Everyone looks fantastic in their Halloween gear! For tomorrow, our caravan is finally home again, so dress in your best Arapahoe spirit gear for our Homecoming assembly and football game. 

*Did you know you can earn college credit and high school credit at the same time?  Now before you run to Arapahoe Community College, you need details and the right paperwork. Come to the forum during your lunchtime on Monday, November 4th to find out the details. Bring your lunch!  

*Juniors and Seniors signed up for today's visit from University of Colorado - Colorado Springs, it has been moved to C-1466.  

*Juniors and Seniors - Last call for anyone interested in going on the 2020 Washington DC trip in March!!  Please see Ms. Winn in social studies to get enrolled! Deposits are due today!  

*The FBLA Membership Deadline has been extended to today. If you are interested in joining FBLA  this year, please pick up a packet from the Business Office.

Athletics

*Your Arapahoe Cheerleading program competed last Saturday in their first competition of the season! JV hit an amazing routine and came home with a 3rd place trophy! Varsity was also successful and earned 3rd place in their division & a bid to the National High School Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, Florida in February! Please consider coming out to Cherokee Trail HS on November 7th to see your AHS cheers compete for the Centennial League title! 

*Your Arapahoe Gymnasts are competing in Regionals on Halloween at Green Mountain High School!  Competition begins at 4:00 PM. This is their opportunity to qualify for State as a team and on individual Events.  Be fierce, Warrior Gymnasts!

*Arapahoe Volleyball is back in action today at home vs. Mullen. The match times are 4:15 PM for Freshmen and Sophomores, 5:15 PM for JV and 6:15 PM for Varsity. Go Warriors!

*Your Football Warriors fought hard against Eaglecrest last week and lost but are still in the hunt for the playoffs! Come cheer them on for your Homecoming celebration and last game of the regular season tomorrow 7:00 PM at LPS Stadium versus Overland High School.  

*Lady Water Warriors - remember your booster registration is due Friday, November 1 to guarantee delivery of your team gear by our first meet on December 3. Registrations received after the 1st will not guarantee delivery of your gear by Dec. 3rd. 

*IT IS FINALLY HERE... NOPE, NOT HALLOWEEN... NOPE, NOT HOMECOMING... 
IT IS TIME FOR AHS GIRLS BASKETBALL TO GET STARTED!!! All Girls that want to join an incredible group of players and coaches and be part of the AHS Girls Basketball program please plan to attend our Girls Basketball Preseason Camp beginning next week. The 1st day of Camp is Tuesday November 5th 6:30-9:00 PM in the Main Gym and continues November 6th , 7th and 8th. Camp also continues the Week of November 11th thru the 16th. This camp will focus on skill development and training as preparation for the upcoming season.

*Hey Warriors! You have a chance to donate to another great cause: Arapahoe Unified Basketball! They are in need of new basketball equipment. There will be a Miracle Minute during the Homecoming Assembly. Your link crew leaders will be walking around with Mason Jars for donation as well! Please bring all your spare change this week! 

*On Thursday, AHS will host the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.  Be sure to sign up in Naviance 24 hours in advance.  

*Still not sure if TSA is for you? Please come to our TSA meeting after school on Wednesday in E1284 for a fun activity!

*Juniors and Seniors - Last call for anyone interested in going on the 2020 Washington DC trip in March!!  Please see Ms. Winn in social studies to get enrolled and make your deposit by the 31st!  

*Warriors, if you want to bring a guest from another school to this year's homecoming dance, please stop by the front office to pick up a guest form. Any AHS student can bring a guest. Guest forms must be completed and turned in today.

*Seniors!  Do you have a November 15th college application deadline?  If so, blue forms are due by the end of the day on October 31st. Blue Forms can be turned during both lunches on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.  See the counselors at the transcript table outside the bookkeeping office.

*The Swim Waiver will be given for current AHS, HHS,LHS students at Arapahoe High School on Thursday, November 21st at 7:00 AM. The test/waiver will take approximately 1 hour. This is the only test for the 1st semester 2019 school year for current students. This is the ONLY Swim Waiver Seniors may take. If Seniors do not take and pass this test, they will be enrolled in swimming 2nd semester. Students must email Mrs. Leyden to sign up for the waiver. Space is limited. 

*Halloween is on Thursday! Grab your friends and have lunch in the cafeteria to partake in some fun Halloween games and contests. Please remember that while Halloween costumes are allowed they must be appropriate and adhere to school dress code. In addition, masks, face painting, weapons and/or any fake weapons are not allowed. Staff members will ask you to change if the costume is inappropriate.

*Hey warriors! have you seen the license plates hanging up in the north and south halls? they are apart of a special hoco challenge! Today.....the first five people to find and take a selfie picture with the red-bordered plate that says “traffic jam” and show it to Mrs rice in the library will be entered into a raffle to win a gift card at the end of the week. Look for the red one that says traffic jam. good luck!

*Hey Warriors! Our 2019 Homecoming dance is happening this Saturday from 8 to 10:30 PM. Tickets are on sale now during both lunches, and will be on sale for $15 until Friday. Tickets will be $20 at the door. Tomorrow, show your warrior pride by dressing as wacky and as tacky as you can. Tomorrow night, come out to the turf field for our first inaugural powderpuff game and firework show! Admission is free, but bring extra money for food trucks and hot cocoa. Tailgating starts at 5pm.

*Hey warriors! On our homecoming road trip this week we have a challenge for you and a chance to win homecoming dance tickets and a Starbucks gift card. Look for the license plates in the north and south halls. Today, the first five people to find and take a selfie picture of the purple-bordered plate that says “student driver” and show it to Mrs. Rice in the library will be entered into a raffle to win hoco tickets and Starbucks. ....again you are looking for the first five to find the purple plate that says “student driver”. Bring your selfies to Mrs. Rice in the library. 

*On Saturday, "The Pride of Arapahoe" Warrior Marching Band hosted their "State Championships Celebration" in front of a crowd of family, friends, alumni, and community members performing their 2019 show - “Exploring Solitude” - for one last time due to the weather cancelation of 5A State Championships this week. Our outstanding band put on a great exhibition performance under the direction of Drum Major Kimberly Williams, with solos by Jordan Camp (flute); Ethan Rael and Wyatt Lynch (trumpet); Fayth Rice (saxophone); Maddie Farr, Joey Phillips & Sarah Woosley (percussion); Carson Wedding and Anna Ogren (color guard). The band would like to thank our outstanding staff, the band boosters, and the AHS Administration and Staff for all of their support this season.  We would also like to thank everyone who came out on Saturday and joined us in our State Championships Celebration!!!

*The Varsity Boys Cross Country Team finished 17th in state competition and were represented by Seniors Coel Trautman and Stephen Haysley, Juniors Blake Hansen, Cameron Perdew and Mitch Lockard, Sophomores Zac Schmitt and Isaac Peterson and alternates Finn Voss and Jayden Thulson.

*On Saturday afternoon the following Varsity Girls Cross Country Warriors represented each of you at the State 5A Cross Country Championships. Freshmen Ava Escorcia, Ava Mitchell, Emily Lamontagne, Junior Megan Bergstrom, and Seniors Kira MacGill, Rylee Aksamit and Delia Guilbert, along with alternates Naomi deRidder and Kayla Renner ran themselves ahead of three nationally ranked cross country teams and a field of talented runners to earn the first ever Championship title for Arapahoe High School. That's right, the Warrior Girls Cross Country team is the 2019 Colorado 5A Champions! Congratulations to the lady runners and to all of the cross country athletes on an amazing season. We are all so proud of you!

*Congratulations to the Varsity softball team for an outstanding season. The Lady Warriors defeated Smoky Hill 12 to 1 in the first round of the state tournament, making it to the quarter finals where they were defeated by number 3 ranked Rocky Mountain. These girls had an amazing season and put Arapahoe Softball on the map. Congrats ladies! Be proud of all that you have accomplished this year!

*Our Field Hockey Warriors braved the weather yesterday and fought hard in the playoffs against Regis, the defending state champions. They lost but had an outstanding season making it to playoffs for the first time. Congrats Warriors! Thank you to all our fans for your support this season!

*Calling all Lady Water Warriors, don’t miss self defense class this Saturday at 3:00. Join your team captains at Tiger Rock Martial Arts in Lone Tree! Sign up online- AHSSwimDive.com.

*Grab a hat and coat and come cheer on your Football Warriors at HOME versus Eaglecrest. 7:00 PM at LPS Stadium and... it is Senior Night! The team will need your support as they continue to fight for a spot in the playoffs.

*Hey Warriors, your Lady Warrior Softball team is competing in the State Softball for the first time in school history. The first game is on Friday at 12:15 pm at Aurora Sports Park. We need lots of fans so come out and support the team.

*Your Varsity Boys Soccer team lost in overtime last night to Cherry Creek 1-0. The JV squad won their final game of the season against Cherry Creek 1-0.

*Warrior Varsity Volleyball lost in four games against Creek. JV lost a tough one as well. Frosh and Soph lost in two. All teams in back in action this Thursday at home v. Smoky Hill. Sophomores at 4:30 PM, JV at 5:00 PM, Frosh at 5:30 PM, and Varsity at 6:30 PM. Go Warriors! 

*Your LPS Girls Gymnastics Team competes in Varsity Leagues this evening & JV Leagues tomorrow evening! Both Meets are at Elizabeth High School with some challenging competition. Wish them luck as they secure their seed for Regionals!  You've got this Warrior Gymnasts!!!

*Come one, come all! The Fall Play Peter and the Starcatcher, a wildly theatrical story about Peter Pan and his friends, premieres this week in the AHS Theatre at 7PM this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Tickets are $8 online or at the door. This is one you won't want to miss! 

*Warriors, if you want to bring a guest from another school to this year's homecoming dance, please stop by the attendance and activities office to pick up a guest form. Any AHS student can bring a guest. Tickets go on sale next week, so make sure to get your guest form in soon! 


Athletics    

*Your Arapahoe Boys Varsity soccer Team travels this evening to play a 6:00 PM match against Cherry Creek at the Stutler Bowl,  Cherry Creek High School’s Stadium. The JV team plays Cherry Creek at 4:15 PM at Cherry Creek’s Village Green Fields; please note the different times and locations. Warrior Strong!

*Calling all Lady Water Warriors - join coaches, captains and parent boosters for the season information and registration night on Tuesday, October 22 at 6:00 PM in the Forum. Get ready for the season by picking up some spirit gear and capturing important season information.

*Our Field Hockey Warriors face Regis tomorrow in the quarterfinal state playoff game. Game time is 4:00 PM at Regis’ stadium. Come and cheer them on to victory! 

*Centennial League Volleyball Challenge Tourney is Tuesday 10/22, Thursday 10/24 and Tuesday 10/29. The Warriors play Cherry Creek @ home today. Freshmen @ 4:30 PM, JV @ 5:00 PM, Sophomores @ 5:30 PM and Varsity @ 6:30. Come out and support your Warriors!
