General Announcements

The after prom prizes are stacking up!  How about a new smart TV for your dorm room?  What about a new iPad? Beatz headphones, GoPro cameras, fit bits, a Bose speaker, all great prizes up for grabs!! After prom tickets will be on sale today during lunch and after school in the cafeteria. The cost of a ticket is $20 but will be $25 at the door.  See you there and hope you win!!

Attention Students – today is the last day to charge a meal on your lunch account.  Please check with your cashier to get a balance on your account and have additional funds added if needed for the remaining school year.   An ALTERNATIVE MEAL will only be allowed in place of lunch:  Cheese Sandwich, fruit, vegetable, and milk.  No charging of snacks and beverages will be allowed.

Attention Key Clubbers! Summer Break is right around the corner, but we still have a couple events! Be sure and join us this coming Monday for our last meeting so we can share the details.  Please bring in any final donations by next Friday. The last Jiminy Wickets event will be next Saturday, May 7th from 10 a.m. - 12 noon, so please come join us!

If you would like to work in the DECA Store next year, please stop by the Business Office for an application.

Have you ever wanted to play an instrument but didn't know how?  Have you ever wanted to wear a tuba?  Next week, the Arapahoe Band will have opportunities for YOU to try instruments like trombones, sousaphones, drums, saxophones, and more!  Bring your friends and go to the band room after school next Wednesday at 3 PM and next Friday at 2:30 PM to learn how to play these and other awesome instruments!

The Spectacular Arapahoe Color Guard is having tryout clinics and tryouts starting next week.  If you are interested, please attend our informational meeting on Wednesday May 4th at 630pm in the Theatre.  Visit our website for more dates of clinics and tryouts.  You can also talk to Mr. Funk in the band office for more info.  Be a part of a state champion team!  A-Team Hut!


Athletics

Congratulations Boys Varsity Lacrosse for a GIANT WIN over Cherry Creek Wednesday night!  What a victory! Thank you loyal lacrosse fans for filling the stadium and helping the guys finish strong with the win. The boys play Kent Denver tomorrow at 11am at Kent.  Come on out and kick start your prom weekend with some sideline lacrosse fun!

Prom is just around the corner so buy your tickets online through the bookkeeper's corner. Pick up your tickets in the cafeteria during lunch. We will take cash on today and tomorrow during both lunches only. Cost of a ticket is $40 but will be $45 at the door. Get your tickets now because the lines will get longer.

Congrats to the freshmen baseball team on their win of 19-3 against Eaglecrest! Go warriors!

Congratulations to the ABK JV team in their 2-0 win over Cherry Creek yesterday!  Goals in the win were contributed by Emma Purcell and Ashlyn Baird.  The JV team is having an outstanding season with an    8-1-1 record overall. The ABK C team also won last night in a 4-0 victory over Cherokee Trail! Goals were contributed by Sarah Haysley and Chloe Moore.  Great job ladies!  Next up - the Varsity and JV ABK teams take on Smoky Hill tonight - Varsity take the pitch at 4 and JV follow at 5:30. Bundle up and come out and cheer them on!

Congratulations to the JV girls tennis team for completing an awesome undefeated season yesterday against Cherokee Trail! We dominated the league and we are proud of you. Congrats also to the Varsity tennis team for winning their double header yesterday against Overland and Cherokee Trial. Good luck to Varsity at the Cherry Creek invite this weekend and Regionals next week!

                Diana Durnford and Avery Plantz are the 2016 Prom King and Queen.

Thank you loyal Warrior fans!  After travelling across town last Friday and cheering on the boys varsity lacrosse team, the guys eek-ed out a win over Mullen and took their season record to 9-2. Tonight they face arch rival, Cherry Creek, at 8 pm at the Stutler Bowl Stadium.  Bundle up, come out and make some noise!

Congratulations to the ABK JV team in their 6-2 win over Cherokee Trail.  Lindsay Carter, Emma Purcell, Anna McCollister, Kassi Robinette, Riley Tucker and Ashley Wutrich.  Great team effort in the win! Come out this afternoon to support them as they take on Cherry Creek at the Village Green Fields at 4:30. The ABK C team will take on Cherokee Trail at Fox Ridge Middle School at 4:30 today! Come out and cheer them on!

Come cheer on the Arapahoe Boys JV Black and JV Gold Lacrosse teams this afternoon as they take on Cherry Creek! JV Gold will play at Cherry Creek and JV Black will play at Powell Middle School. Both games start at 4:30. Go Warriors!

The Girls lacrosse team is back in action tonight against Cherry Creek.  Come out and support the girls!  Varsity plays at5:00 at LPS and JV plays at Newton at 5:50.

Come to the pool today at 4:30 pm to cheer on the boys swim and dive team as they compete against Cherry Creek! 

The ABK Varsity soccer team meets number 5 ranked team Cherokee Trail tonight in an important conference match-up.  Tonight is Senior Night where our senior AHS soccer players will be honored for all of their hard work throughout their soccer careers at Arapahoe.  Seniors this year include Darby Engerman, Izzy Benasso, Alex Jackson, Kaylin Robinette, Ali Decolati and Kelsey Vogel.  The senior night ceremony will start around 6:30 with game time slated for 7 p.m. at LPS Stadium. The JV also take on Cherokee Trail at 4:30 at the AHS soccer fields.  Let’s get everyone out to support the JV, Varsity and seniors tonight.  Go Warriors!

The big Mr. Arapahoe Competition is tomorrow night at 7 pm in the AHS theater! Tickets are only 5 dollars, and will be sold today and tomorrow at lunch or at the door. Bring your friends and come enjoy an evening of laughter and Warrior spirit!

Congrats to the freshmen baseball team on their win against Smoky Hill! It was a nail bitter with a final score of 19-16. Great job warriors!

Congratulations to the ABK Girls C-team in their 6-0 win Friday against the Cherry Creek Royals. Mallory Gueller and Carly Sweet each contributed two goals while Chloe Moore and Aubrey Stoddard each had one. Great game ladies!

Both teams of the men of volleyball had a great day at the Paul Hastings tournament on Saturday. Congratulations to the gold team on taking second place! Go Warriors!

Please join the Art Department this weekend in celebrating Earth Day with Habitat for Humanity. We are hosting a Pottery Sale at the Habitat ReStore Highlands Ranch location from 9am-7pm. All of the donations from this sale will go to support Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver, in helping them build communities for low income families. We hope to see you there!

Congratulations to the Men of Volleyball Black Team on their victory over Aurora Central last night! The boys fought hard to beat the Trojans in 2 games. Wish both the Black and Gold teams luck today as they have the Paul Hastings Tournament at Doherty High School tomorrow...GO WARRIORS!

Attention Seniors!  The Herald magazine prints a list and a map showing where this year's seniors will be next year.  In order to "make the map," please log-in to Naviance THIS WEEK to complete the Senior Exit Survey.  Please come to the Post Grad Center if you need assistance.

The final MUSE meeting will be after school today at 2:30pm in room E-11. We will be discussing the logistics for our upcoming Showcase event on the 28th and will be wrapping up any details to end the year. 
Please join in the celebration of your hard work.

The 2016 Prom Guest forms are available in the Attendance Office. Forms must be completed and returned to the Attendance Office by next Tuesday, April 26th.  Complete information and instructions are included on the form.  

Attention all FBLA Members.  There will be an FBLA meeting today after school in room E-9. Please bring your lettering sheet to the meeting.  Officer applications will also be handed out.
