“Ring Bells”

Final reminder to gather your loose coins and bills, and don't forget your unwrapped toy to bring to your 3rd period tomorrow for the 2nd Annual Black Friday Avalanche of Toys & Miracle Minute Class Competition.  This year's donations will go to help make the holidays a little brighter for the children at LPS's Field Elementary and the Denver Indian Center.  

For those students who do not have a 3rd period on Friday please bring your toys and/or cash to Mrs. Ryan in the Main Office.  Your name will be put into a drawing for a $5 Chipotle gift card.  

Now that you know all about the 16th Annual Arapahoe Toy Drive….., now is your chance to be an active part of this wonderful community outreach!  Students wishing to help deliver toys to LPS's Field Elementary on Wed., Dec. 20, after the last final of the day, should pick-up a permission slip in the Activities/Attendance Office.  Space is limited on a first-come basis.  

Seniors, if you have a January 1st college application deadline, please complete your blue transcript request form and turn it in with payment to Mrs. Arnold no later than December 1st.  Be sure that your deadline dates in Naviance are exactly the same as the dates on your forms prior to submitting them.  



Athletics

Congratulations to the Warrior Wrestling Team. The "Band of Brothers" defeated Bear Creek 54-21 last night in their season opener. The Warriors won 10 of the 14 weight classes, including 6 by pin! Next up is Overland on Friday night at 7:00 pm!

The LPS Ice Hockey’s-CHSSA season has begun! The varsity team plays this Fri, Dec 1 at 7:45pm against Pine Creek High School at South Suburban and then again this Saturday, Dec 2 at 2pm against Castle View High School at Big Bear. Also, the JV team plays on Saturday, Dec 2 at 4:50pm against Cherry Creek at the Ice Ranch. Come out and support our Ice Hockey Team!

Come cheer on your Lady Water Warriors.  Girls Swim and Dive Season kicks off with two home meets this week.  First, Diving and JV swim competes against Mullen today at 4:30.  Next, our Varsity girls take on Rock Canyon beginning at 10:00 AM on Saturday. We hope to see you there!

One of the best things about the holiday season is seeing a child's face when they get the toy of their dreams!  Help make these dreams come true for LPS's Field Elementary and the Denver Indian Center by purchasing a toy for the 16th Annual AHS Toy Drive. Welcome back Warriors!  We hope you had a good week off celebrating all we have to be thankful for!  And, that you had a chance to do some Black Friday shopping for the 2nd Annual Black Friday Avalanche of Toys & Miracle Minute Class Competition this Friday at the start of Period 3. Let's break last year's record of $2,700 and over 200 toys collected!  The class collecting the most toys will each receive a $5 Chipotle gift card; the class collecting the most money will earn a donut party!  For those students who do not have a 3rd period on Friday can bring their toys and/or cash to Mrs. Ryan in the Main Office.  Their names will be put into a drawing for a Chipotle gift card.

Warriors give thanks for all you have and enjoy time with your family and friends next week.  When you are out shopping the Black Friday sales, please remember the children at Field Elementary and the Denver Indian Center.  On Fri., Dec. 1 during Period 3, the challenge is on for the 2nd Annual Black Friday Avalanche of Toys & Miracle Minute.  The classroom that brings in the most toys will receive a $5 Chipotle gift card for each student. The classroom that brings in the most $$ during the Miracle Minute will receive a doughnut party.  Let’s try to beat our amount raised last year which was over $2700 and 200 toys collected in one minute.  


Students interested in learning more about the Naval Academy specifically or the NROTC program, please visit the military tab on the Post Grad website to view an upcoming opportunity on Monday, November 20th and another opportunity available over Thanksgiving Break.


After Thanksgiving Break, the Post Grad Center will host an ROTC presentation on Tuesday, November 28th at 11:00 in the Forum.  Please use the blue college visit passes to be excused from class.  ROTC is a full tuition scholarship program and offers outstanding leadership training.  Find out if it is an scholarship program that you want to pursue!


Attn. Senior Class – Herff Jones will be here today from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm in the AHS Cafeteria accepting your orders for the Class of 2018 Graduation Announcements, Accessories, Class Rings and Grad Gear. Remember that a down payment of $85 for your graduation order and if ordering a class ring another $85 deposit is required. Grad Gear will be delivered when you order at school. This will be the final “in-school” ordering opportunity this fall. Extra info is available in the main office.

Warriors, come check out the newly installed trusted adult wall in the hallway between social studies and counseling. If you haven't had a chance to identify your trusted adult on an index card, stop by counseling and add to our wall of trusted adults!

The MUSE is back in session and we need you. Submit your art, music and writing to the MUSE by today and you'll be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a gift card. Have an idea for the cover of the MUSE, submit your cover art designs as well. For more information, see Mr. Spare in the Language Art Department

57% of seniors have submitted applications!  If are not one of those students and college is in your future, come to the last College Application Boot Camp of the year on PLC Wednesday at 7AM.   This session is for students needing  help getting started, those with questions, or students simply needing work time.   This week wraps up college visits for the fall semester.   Log in to Naviance for details on this week’s visits.

Congratulations to the Arapahoe Varsity Cheer team for their 4th place finish at the UCA Regional Mile High Cheer Competition this past weekend and earning a National Bid to the High School Cheer Nationals Competition in Orlando, FL in February 2018!  Congratulations to the Arapahoe JV Cheer team for completing their competition season with 9th place at the UCA Regional Mile High Cheer Competition.  Please join the Arapahoe Cheer Teams Tuesday, Nov. 14th for a Fundraiser at Cranelli's Italian Restaurant at 10047 Park Meadows Drive, Unit F, Lone Tree, CO.  Cranelli's will donate 20% of all proceeds back the the Arapahoe Cheer Program.  Come out and enjoy a great Italian meal!

The LPS Stride event was a huge success with nearly 2500 participants.  Money raised is near $40,000. Thank you for helping make this a wonderful community event, which promotes a healthy  and active lifestyle, a priority in our school!  Congratulations to Pria Zaveri for placing 1st in the 5k Female 13-15 and Sarah Lorenzen for placing 1st in the 5k Female 16 - 18, Grace Cadorette for placing 2nd in the 5K Female 16 - 18, Alex Widdowson for placing 2nd place in the 10k Female 16-18, Delan Palmer for placing 2nd in the 10K Male 16-18   Please make sure to Congratulate our amazing runners!

Congratulations to the Arapahoe Varsity Cheer Team on earning 2nd place in the Centennial League Competition last night!  Way to go Warriors!  A special thank you to all those who helped volunteer and those who came to support Warrior Cheer!  A very special shout out to the athletic staff, Pat McCabe, Janelle Weems wrestling team, girls volleyball team and girls basketball team. The night wouldn't have been successful without all of you!

Wow!  Have you checked out the Activities/Attendance office?  NO, they are NOT skipping Thanksgiving, they are just geared up for the 16th Annual Arapahoe High School Toy Drive!  Between now and December 8, our goal is to collect 1,000 toys to go to LPS's Field Elementary and the Denver Indian Center.  Stop by and enjoy the decorations and get more information on how you can help!

Next week, the Post Grad Center will host the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, the University of Arizona, and the Rochester Institute of Technology.  Please sign in Naviance.

Both the JV and Varsity Cheer teams will be competing at the Centennial League here at Arapahoe tonight at 6pm.  Tickets are $4 for students, $6 for adults at the door, cash and check only.  Athletic passes are not accepted for tonight event. Please come support the girls that support the school.  Go Warriors!

Congratulations to both our JV and Varsity Toms for their performances last night at the Centennial League competition. Toms, your dancing amazes us and makes us feel proud to be Warriors! This coming Saturday, the JV and Varsity teams will compete again at the National Western Complex beginning at 9 am.  They'd love to see you there!


Anyone interested in being a part of the 2017-2018 Arapahoe Warrior track and field team should attend an informational meeting today at 2:30 in Room W-1529. We will be discussing the upcoming spring season as well as winter workouts and the indoor meet schedule. Come and be a part of the Arapahoe track family. If you are unable to attend please see Coach Lienemann sometime before the end of the week.
