General Announcements

*Seniors!  Each day this week, there will be a scholarship spotlight. While many of you will automatically qualify for merit based scholarships, which are based on GPA and test scores, did you know there are competitive scholarships awarded by your college that require a separate application? Look at the college websites to see the application requirements and deadlines and apply.  Every year, AHS seniors are awarded thousands of dollars from competitive scholarships!

*The next TSA meeting will be this Wednesday, November 20th @ 3:35- 4:00 PM in Room E1284 (Woods Classroom). Remember to sign up for your events AND turn in your affiliation dues!!  See you Wednesday!

*Juniors and Seniors: are you interested in competing in athletics at the college level? If so, there will be an NCAA/NAIA eligibility information meeting in the forum today during both lunches. Feel free to bring your lunch.

*The 9th Annual LPS Poetry Slam is tonight! Due to some unforeseen circumstances, the Poetry Slam location has been changed to Options Secondary Campus, 6557 S. Acoma Street, Littleton, 80120.  We will NOT be at Powell Middle School. It will still begin at 7:00 PM! It's a FREE event and open to anyone - due to some of the content, we recommend kids no younger than 13 attend. The LPS Poetry Slam is a way for high school students to reach out to their peers, families, teachers, and the community through the words of the individuals themselves. One minute you are crying and the next you are laughing as each poet shares their thoughts in 3 minutes or less. It is really an awesome way for kids to express themselves. And let me tell you... they've got something to say!
Please come by and check it out. The student poets will appreciate your support and I'm sure you'll be glad you did!

*Anyone wanting to help with Hour of Code, please meet today after school in room N1496 for a short training or email Ms. Bownds for an alternative time slot.

*Hey Seniors! Check your email for your opportunity to vote on your class flower, class song, and class quote that represents your class! The form is only open until this Friday.
