Hey NHS members, listen up… Remember that we’ve got a National Honor Society meeting after school this Wednesday. We have some important information to share with you about upcoming activities, so please plan to be in the forum by 2:25 on Wednesday!

Hey Key Club! There will be a special meeting after school today at 2:30 in room C16. There will be snacks and we will be voting on events. Bring your friends!

Athletics
The Lady Warriors basketball teams would like to extend a special thanks to "The Boys"! Their cheers and signs were much appreciated during Friday's game against Cherokee Trail and helped our Ladies to bring home a victory! JV won 49-40 and Varsity brings home a 58-36 win over Cherokee Trail...congrats Ladies!

Don't miss our two home games this week! Wednesday, Feb. 2nd we host a game at AHS against Smoky Hill and Friday, Feb. 4th the Ladies will defend home court against Grandview. JV plays at 5:30 and Varsity takes the court at 7:00 on both days. So bring your signs and your spirit and cheer your Lady Warriors onto victory!!!

With just three games remaining in their regular season, the sophomore girls basketball team turned a corner on the defensive side of the ball. They got a great win at Cherokee Trails on Friday 45-23 to remain perfect. Go Lady Warriors.

Congratulations to the Freshmen Girls Basketball Team for yet another outstanding victory on Friday night at Cherokee Trail. That win pushes the Team record to 11 and 1. Great Job ladies.

Last night the Lady Water Warriors battled the defending state champion team The Cherry Creek Bruins, Arapahoe defeated the reigning state champs with a score of 98-88. Congratulations Ladies!

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Basketball Team for their convincing win against Overland 62-38 Friday night here at AHS. The win moves the teams league record to 6 and 1 and puts them tied for 1st place in the Centennial league. JV defeated Overland 56-20. Great job Ladies. All of the lady warriors will be in action this Wednesday night at home against Eaglecrest High School, JV at 5:30 and Varsity at 7pm. Come out and support your Lady Warriors!

Congratulations to the Girls' Sophomore team as they continued their winning streak against Overland High School. They won 52-12. This moves the Sophomore team record to 12 and 0. Great job ladies!

Tickets are on sale during both lunches. The cost is $10 per person in advance and will go up to $15 per person at the door. The dress is semi formal, and we have acquired the awesome DJ from last spring’s Prom!!!! So don’t wait to ask that special someone to “A Night in Lights”.

General Announcements

This afternoon, former Mayor of Selma Alabama, James Perkins will be speaking to students in the forum beginning at 2:30. Mayor Perkins is the first and only African-American to be elected to that position in Selma, (2000-2008 ). This opportunity has come about through the efforts of former AHS student Gwen Brown. Gwen is currently working in Selma with the Freedom Foundation attempting to improve the economic, social, educational and political status of the underprivileged in that area. All students are encouraged to attend.

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Basketball team for their exciting win last night over Cherry Creek 45-43. The win moves your Lady Warriors into second place in the Centennial League with a 4 and 1 league record.

Congratulations are in order for the JV Lady Warriors too. Although they finished the game with a loss of 50-51, they played a fantastic game and are sure to bring home a victory the next time we face Cherry Creek!

Congratulations to the girls' sophomore basketball team as they continued their winning ways with a great win over Cherry Creek last night 42-27. Go Lady Warriors!

Congratulations to Lady Freshman Basketball Warriors for defeating Cherry Creek last night 40-17. Great job ladies.

Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors may pick up yellow guest forms in the Attendance Office. Guest forms are due back today.

Warriors come and support the Special Olympic basketball team when they go up against the South Suburban 2 team tonight at 5:00 p.m. at the Buck Recreation Center.

Congratulations to the JV Girls Basketball team with their convincing 49 to 32 win over Mullen. We are now 4 and 0 in league play. And in an exciting and close game for Varsity, our Ladies brought home a much deserved victory with a final score of 56-53...a huge congrats for a job well done! It was an awesome Team win that moved their league record to 3 and 1 and sets up a game vs Cherry Creek on Wednesday at Cherry Creek. JV plays at 5:30 the Varsity at 7:00. Thanks to all of the students and staff that came out and supported the team against Mullen, see you all at Cherry Creek.

Funeral arrangements for Nick Lane will be at Grace Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 15. Viewing is from 10am to 11am. The funeral service begins at 11am. A brief reception at the church will follow the service. The church is located 1 long block East of Broadway on Arapahoe Road.

Attention FCCLA: If you are planning to attend state conference or the culinary events at Johnson & Wales please plan to attend our meeting today after school in room E2. Also, those of you on the cupcake war team will meet briefly afterwards. See you Friday FCCLA!

General Announcements

Funeral arrangements for Nick Lane will be at Grace Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 15. Viewing is from 10am to 11am. The funeral service begins at 11am. A brief reception at the church will follow the service. The church is located 1 long block East of Broadway on Arapahoe Road.

FBLA: we have a meeting today after school in room E9. We will update you on testing dates and times and we are having a scavenger hunt.

Tickets will go on sale beginning Tuesday, January 18th during both lunches. The cost is $10 per person in advance and will go up to $15 per person at the door. The dress is semi formal, and we have acquired the awesome DJ from last spring’s Prom!!!! So don’t wait to ask that special someone to “A Night in Lights”. The Muse has extended its Fall deadline into spring, and we are accepting poems, essays, stories and artwork for this week only. Please support the Girls Sophomore Basketball team tonight at 6PM as they play at Grandview High School. Go Warriors!

There are two big games this week for our Lady Warriors JV and Varsity Basketball Teams! Come show your support tonight at Grandview; JV at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00. Cheer our Lady Warriors on to victory at home when they take on Mullen this Friday with JV @ 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00.

Girls Tennis-Change of location: The January 18th tennis tryout meeting for players and parents has been moved to the cafeteria at 7pm. Please note this change of location for the meeting.

If you signed up for one of these events, you need to attend the TSA “run-off” Meeting next Thursday, Jan 13th after school promptly at 2:25 in room E6. Please come prepared to compete!

Athletics

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Basketball Team for their win over Smoky Hill on Saturday 53-42. The win moves the Lady Warriors to 2 and 0 in the Centennial League. Congratulations to the JV girls basketball team in defeating Smoky Hill 45 to 20. The win brings the team to a 5 and 2 record and 2 and 0 in league.
Next games are Wednesday, January 12 @ Grandview. JV plays at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00. Come and cheer our Lady Warriors on!"

The girls sophomore team got another great win at Smokey Hill on Saturday. They beat the Buffaloes by the score of 45-29. They are playing Grandview for first place in league on Wednesday. Good luck ladies
Congratulations to Lady Freshman Warriors basketball Team for their win over Smokey Hill 37-25 on Saturday the win got them back to their winning ways. Great job girls!

There will be a short, but very important TSA meeting after school today for ALL students attending the TSA state conference in February. This will be a mandatory meeting to finalize your event entries, as the official registration site closes at Midnight! No changes can be made after that! The win was a total team effort and puts the team at 1 and 0 in Centennial League play. The Lady Warriors next game is this Saturday 1/8 at Smoky Hill at 1:00 PM. Congratulations to the girls sophomore basketball team. The girls got the win against Cherokee Trail with a score of 61 to 27. Great team effort.
