Hey Arapahoe!  Having those post-holiday blues?  Well, snap out of them by attending the 2006 Winter Dance!!  It will be held Saturday, January 21st from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. in the AHS Cafeteria.  This year’s theme is “A Night at the Grammys.”  Tickets will be on sale during each lunch in the cafeteria.  You will want to buy your tickets in advance for only $10/person because the price will increase that night at the door to $15/person.  And, this is that special dance of the year where the ladies get to ask the gentlemen!  Don’t forget . . . The 2006 Winter Dance “A Night at the Grammys” coming your way January 21st.

Warriors!  Here is some important information you need to know if you plan to attend the Winter Dance next Saturday, January 21st.  First, this dance is semi-formal in attire.  Therefore, you will not be permitted in the door wearing jeans, shorts, or other attire that is inconsistent with the AHS dress code.  Also, only sophomores, juniors and seniors that are current Arapahoe students will be permitted to bring outside guests.  Forms for these guests are due no later than, Thursday, January 19th, at 3:00 p.m. and are available in the Guidance Center from Mrs. Sisler.  No middle school students will be permitted to attend.  We greatly appreciate your support on these issues!

Attention Warriors!! This week and this week only the DECA store is having a major sale on clothing. Catch the hottest styles that Arapahoe has to offer. Come in and enjoy most of your favorite candy which is 2 for $1 for this week only. This promises to be one of the biggest sales the store has ever offered.  So hurry into the DECA store and catch the fever…. The spring FEVER!!!!!!!

An admissions representative from the University of Denver will be here at Arapahoe to meet with interested students on Thursday, January 19 at 8:30 am.  Sign up in the Guidance Center.

Sophomore and Juniors: Come to the Post Grad Center to check out summer internship and leadership program opportunities.

Lost and Found will be in the cafeteria today.  Please check for any items that you may have lost.   Items that are not picked up by the end of the day will be donated.

Good morning, Musers!  Welcome back to spring semester!  We need to see you today after school in our usual room, to finish up our decision-making for this year’s Muse magazine!  Rumor has it there may be PIZZA at this meeting!  We need to work on final choices for the magazine selections, and plan for our SHOWCASE night.  We need EVERYBODY there! 

And now, after an extended Winter Break and many arduous previews, your feature presentation. That's right, this January, Film Club returns with a vengeance.  Monday, January 23, the saga begins.  Bow chick-a bow.  And work on those films Arapahoe.  We really want to see your talent.

Attention LINK Crew commissioners. There needs to be a short meeting in the Language Arts office at 7 am tomorrow the 19th! Please be there or talk to a sponsor.

Please excuse all band students at 8:40am, from 2nd period on Friday, so they can perform at the Winter Assembly.  Please also excuse them until 10:25am during 3rd period.  Thanks for your support! 

Athletics

Congratulations to the Arapahoe girls swim and dive team for their victory over Highlands Ranch last night. The final score was 111 to 74. State qualifiers were Dawn Adams in the 500 free, Becca Getz in the 200 IM and 100 fly and Lauren Brock in the 100 breast. First place finishers were Kathleen Griffin, Melissa Lucero, Kylee Lautenbach, Nikki Markisohn, Lauren Miller, Molly Mazar, Emily Chambers and Carolyn Pasque. The top diver was Jamie Wilson. Great job warriors! Come support the warriors on Thursday in the meet at Littleton.

Attention girls soccer players, there will be no indoor practice this week at the Family Sports Dome bubble, we will begin next Tuesday.  There will be a brief meeting today in room N5 after school, so please bring your checks if you have not already done so.

Good luck to all members of Jazz I who will be performing at tomorrow's State Music Educators Convention performance!  You guys were amazing at last night's Hudson Gardens Concert - Congratulations!!  Jazz I performs in the new Broadmoor Hall, at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs tomorrow morning at 10:20am - good luck Jazz I musicians!!!

The Freshman girls basketball game against Douglas County will be played today at 4:30 in the auxilary gym.

Congratulations to the Sophmore Boys Basketball team for its 64-29 victory over Ponderosa last night.  The Warriors pushed their record to 7-1 on the season with another strong, team effort.

Special Olympic Players and partners, we have a game tonight at Thunderridge High School at 7:30.  Would Brent Ludwig, David Sabey, Emily Appleby, Alison Pukordol, Kristin Anderson and Katrina Schuler please come to S-6 to pick up uniforms.

Student Initiated Groups

Come to the Spanish Club meeting today, at 2:30 in C21.   We will have snacks and drinks and música.  No Spanish is required so bring your friends!  

Attention Young Democrats; there will be a meeting after school today to finish planning for the debate next week on drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.  Bring a friend.

To all warriors with an interest to bowl! Please plan on joining us at the AMF Littleton Lanes today.  Warm up will be at 2:45 pm and 2 games to follow. Drop-ins are always welcome. If you have any questions, please see Dr. Godwin in the Guidance office.
