General Announcements

*Starting today the Class of 2023 is kicking off the annual food drive to benefit Field Elementary. Please bring non-perishables for collection today through Friday, November 1st and donate them in boxes at all the entrances. Cash donations for the drive will be accepted at the school play on opening night and at the Homecoming football game. Let’s overflow the boxes for Field Elementary!

*On Saturday, "The Pride of Arapahoe" Warrior Marching Band hosted the 14th annual Arapahoe Marching Invitational and it was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who showed up to help at the event and/or watch the Arapahoe performance Saturday evening. Our outstanding band put on a great exhibition performance after a busy day of hosting 17 other bands from around the state.  The band would like to thank Mrs. Pramenko, Mrs. Kuhlmann, and Coach Sherman for attending our awards ceremonies and supporting our award winning marching band program. 

*If you didn't have a chance to see our marching band show this weekend, please join us tonight at LPS Stadium for the LPS District Marching Band Showcase featuring all three of the LPS marching bands. Performances will start at 7:00 PM and Arapahoe is scheduled to perform at 8:00 PM.  This event is FREE and open to the public so we hope to see you there!!!

*Attention all Gifted and Talented students and students with advanced learning plans: there will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, October 22 from 7:45 AM - 8:15 AM in room E1287. During this meeting you will receive your annual goal update, learn about G/T programming, and best of all, get a free donut! We're looking forward to checking in with you for the year. See you then!

*On Tuesday, AHS will host Cal Poly, Western Colorado University, and the University of Idaho. Sign up in Naviance if you want to attend.

*Juniors and Seniors -   If you are planning on going on the 2020 Washington DC trip you must get pre-enrolled by this Thursday.  Come see Ms Winn in the social studies office to do so.  

*Interested in joining FBLA?  Registration packets are due this Wednesday.  Be sure to turn your packet and registration check into the business department as soon as you can.  Packets are still available in the business department.  

*Start packing your bags Warriors!  We are going on a Road Trip. Our Road Trip HOCO starts next week. Pack for the beach, a day on the mountain, a stop at Halloween Town, flashy shoes for the dance and a few more pit stops along the way. Mark your calendars and join your friends at the Talent Show on October 28th and  the FIRST EVER Girls PowderPuff Football Game on Wednesday, Oct. 30th. This is a must see and we will top that night off with a fireworks show. YES, Fireworks! Pack your bags with warm clothes and extra blankets to view the fireworks from the Turf Field on October 30th. Dance tickets will be on sale next week for $15.00. Come along for the Riiiiide!

Athletics    

*The Arapahoe Warriors Cross Country Team was well represented on Thursday afternoon in the 5A Region 1 meet. The Girls placed second and the Boys finished third in two very competitive regional races. The next and final race of the 2019 season is this Saturday at the Norris Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs. The Boys compete in the 5A State Championship Race at 1:00 PM and the Girls compete at 2:20 PM. Please come and show your support!

*A huge Congratulations to the Varsity Softball team for being the Region 7 Champions and qualifying for the state tournament for the first time in school history. The Lady Warriors outscored their opponents 25 to 1 on Saturday. The State Tournament begins on Friday and we need lots of fans to support the team. More details to come. Way to go Ladies! 

*Our JV and C Team Field Hockey Warriors finished their seasons last week Thursday and Saturday with amazing team play against their competition. Varsity Field Hockey beat Dakota Ridge and East finishing out their regular season with a four-game winning streak in six days! They have qualified for 7th seed in the State Field Hockey Playoffs! They play Regis at Regis’ Laber Field on Wednesday at 4:00 PM. Go Warriors! 

*Centennial League Volleyball Challenge Tourney is Tuesday 10/22, Thursday 10/24 and Tuesday 10/29. The Warriors play Cherry Creek @ home on Thursday 10/24. Freshmen @ 4:30 PM, JV @ 5:00 PM, Sophomores @ 5:30 PM and Varsity @ 6:30. Come out and support your Warriors! 

*Calling all Lady Water Warriors - join coaches, captains and parent boosters for the season information and registration night on Tuesday, October 22 at 6:00 pm in the Forum. Get ready for the season by picking up some spirit gear and capturing important season information.
