General Announcements

SHARING STUDENT INFORMATION WITH MILITARY RECRUITING OFFICERS
Each fall, military recruiting officers request information from Littleton Public Schools of all 11th and 12th grade students for recruiting purposes.  Students and/or parents have the right to request that their information be withheld from release to the military.  If you DO NOT wish to have this information released to the military, please drop by the guidance office and complete the military opt-out form and return it to the guidance office.  The Deadline is Friday September 30th, 2005.


Attention Students: The library will be closed today during 6th hour and after school. If you need to utilize the library please try to do so before we close. Sorry for any inconvenience.


Current National Honor Society Members – please plan to attend our regular meeting today, September 28 at 2:20 p.m. in the Forum.  We will receive information about our planned blood drive from a representative from Bonfils Blood Center.


Don't be left out at the Homecoming Pep Assembly! Come and buy your Homecoming t-shirts for $5.00 in the cafeteria starting Thursday, September 29th thru Thursday, October 6th.  T-shirts will be sold at both lunches.  Remember: freshmen wear black, sophomores yellow, juniors green and seniors blue!


The Homecoming talent show is this Friday, September 30!  That’s right folks, this FRIDAY!  This year’s show features 2 class skits, guitars, singing and dancing galore!  The show starts at 7pm.  Tickets are $5 and are being sold at lunch all this week.  Be there to kick off Homecoming 2005.


FBLA members don’t forget to turn in your forms and dues by this FRIDAY.  Extra form packets are available in the business office.  See Ms Moots if you have any questions.


Seniors: the Post Grad Center is offering an event, College Admission-Fact and Fiction, for you and your parents on Saturday, October 1st,  from 9-11AM.  Speakers will give short presentations followed by a question-and-answer session.

Leadership and volunteer opportunities are plentiful!  Stop in the Post Grad Center to find out more.  


Retakes on school pictures will be NEXT WEDNESDAY, Oct. 5. If you don't claim your pictures you won't know if you need a retake. Pictures are in E8, in the hallway across from the theater. Get them before and after school and at lunch.

Hey DECA members, there is a mandatory meeting this Thursday, September 29th.  Come enjoy free pizza, meet your officers, and learn what’s currently going on with DECA! 
AVOID THE LINES!!  What Lines?  The Homecoming BBQ lines!  That’s right- Homecoming BBQ!  Next Wednesday the annual homecoming BBQ will take place!  Meet us at the south entrance during lunch.  Avoid the lines- Pre Purchase BBQ tickets for $3.00 in the DECA Store.  Need a sweet treat?  Ice Cream will be available for a $1.00 the day of.  Come show your spirit! 


Do you love candy?? Would you like to be lost in a world of candy? Well, this years homecoming theme is Candyland and it’s going to be sweet! Homecoming week starts next Monday with Black and White dress up day for the royalty assembly. Tuesday will be decades day so dress in your favorite 60’s 70’s or 80’s clothes. Wednesday is SUPER HERO day. Thursday will be Western Day so get your cowboy hats and boots out. Friday is the ultimate Class Color Day for the big pep assembly.
Along with the dress up days, we have the homecoming talent show this Friday at 7:00pm
On Wednesday, Oct. 5th we invite everyone to come out to the bonfire at 7:30pm on the baseball field.
On Friday, Oct. 7th, our Warriors will play Louis Palmer at 7:00 at LPS.
Come see the PARADE on Saturday morning Oct. 8th at 10:00am. And of course, that night is the dance. The dance goes from 8-11pm and it will be held in the large gym. The West gym entrances will be used this year. Tickets will be on sale in the cafeteria all next week during lunches. Buy them in advance for $10.00 or wait and pay $15.00 at the door.

Athletics-            

Attention all senior girl’s swimmers and divers. There will be a very important “senior” meeting in the tiered classroom near the main office. The meeting will be today, Sept. 28th, at 2:25. If you cannot attend, see Coach Richmond.


Congratulations to the Varsity Girls’ softball for their two wins this week, beating Gateway 16 to 0 and Rangeview 3 to 0. The lady warriors were lead by Carrie Rubida in the Gateway win with 10 strike-outs. Leading the team to victory against Rangeview was Suzanne Chang, Danielle Archuleta and Carrie Rubida with two hits each. Way to go ladies!


 The Boys JV Tennis team defeated Littleton yesterday by a score of 4-2.
Winning for the Warriors were:  Matt and Ryan Beckett; Nick Sebesta and Roy Teng; Matt Shaw and Alex Henze; Jeff Gunnell and Doug Bui.  Our last match of the season is tomorrow at Highlands Ranch.  The varsity tennis match against Littleton was not completed due to the weather.


Varsity Volleyball earned a huge league victory last night over Mountain Vista.  The Warriors battled through five games, winning game 5, 15-13.
The Warriors were lead by Rachel Stemper's 11 kills, Cassy Hanneman's 42 assists, and great defense by Kim Goodwin and the rest of the team.  Good luck tomorrow night against Chaparral.

French Club Members! Don’t forget the French Club Dinner on Thursday, September 29! We will meet in the east parking lot at 5:30 p.m. You MUST pick up “Permission to Ride” or “Permission to Drive Forms” from the World Languages Office.


Attention all Pride Tribe members:  Our shirts are in but many of you have not paid.  Bring your money tomorrow because if you signed up you have to pay.


Hey Everyone!  This Thursday, we have another meeting for CSJC, community service just ‘cause, in room C19.  We’re planning several upcoming events and possibly another trip to the animal shelter.  Snacks will be provided at this meeting, and remember it’s not too late to join.


Drama Club meeting is at 2:20 today. in the Green room, E15.  Don't miss it.  Everyone is welcome.     


Attention Young Democrats, there will be a meeting at 2:45 today in room C-6 to prepare for the next debate.


Attention all Culture Club Members.  We will be learning about the Vikings and where they came from and what they did.  So don’t forget your dues and t-shirt payment this club meeting in room C-20 after school, Thursday, September 29th.  See you all there!
