General Announcements

Congratulations to all members of the Warrior Marching Band for being named the 2007 State Champion Runner-up 2nd Place 5A Marching Band at Saturday's State Championships!! This is the 2nd time Arapahoe has reached this high placement in the past 3 years!!! The Warrior Marching Band has placed no lower than 3rd, at state, since 2004!!!! Arapahoe scored 84 points on Saturday - just 2 points out of 1st place. The band would like to thank all their supportive fans who cheered them on throughout this competitive season!! You'll be able to see the Warrior Band's Championship Show at this Friday's Football Game. Congratulations Warrior Marching Band!!!!!

GO FIGURE!! EVERY NOVICE COMPETITOR COMPETING AT THE REGIS HIGH SCHOOL SPEECH TOURNAMENT ON SATURDAY SCORED AN EXCELLENT OR SUPERIOR RIBBON!! BE PROUD!!

The fall production of “Our Town” will be Thurs. Friday and Sat. at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at lunch all this week. Don’t miss it.

Attention Juniors and Seniors: If you are interested in taking college classes while attending school at Arapahoe, you must attend one of the P.S.E.O. informational meetings on Tuesday, October 23, 2007, during first or second lunch in the Forum.

Wednesday will be Rockies day. Wear your best Rockies attire. Enjoy a Rockies dog, chips, and soda for $3, brought to you by AHS administration and counseling department. Go Rockies!

The “Technology Student Association” or, “TSA club”, has a fun and exciting activity planned for you at our next TSA meeting on Tuesday, October 30th in room E10 at 2:25. Please remember your Dues! If you are new to TSA, come see what the TSA club is all about! A reminder to all TSA officers, don’t forget about the officers meeting on Monday, Oct 29th. See Mr. McMullen for questions.

Students: Picture retake day will be this Wednesday, October 24, in the Theater Hallway from 9:00 until 12:30. Bring in your original package for return. Thank you

Attention all Sophomores! Are you planning on going to college? If you are, please sign up for the PLAN test on Saturday October 27th. Come on in and sign up with Mrs. Oeinck in the counseling office from October 15th –October 24th.

How would you like to have dinner with Chris Crutcher, author of such books as Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes, Ironman, and Whale Talk?

Drop by the library to enter a contest in which two students will be chosen to join Mr. Crutcher for dinner Sunday evening, November 4th. All you have to do is answer these questions:

  • What is your favorite Chris Crutcher book and why is it your favorite?
  • What would you like to discuss with Mr. Crutcher at dinner? What questions would you like to ask him?

Two winners will be randomly drawn from all entries at the end of the school day on October 31st.

Spanish Club will be showing Tim Burton’s The Night Before Christmas on Wednesday October 24th at 2:30 in Room C-21. All are welcome! Please note this has been changed due to after school activities.

Athletics

Congratulations to the freshmen football team for another impressive victory on Saturday over Rangeview 28-0. This was another great “TEAM” effort that pushed the teams record to 7 and 1 and sets up a league championship game this coming Saturday against the currently undefeated Regis Raiders. Please plan to come out on Saturday and support your team!!! Game time is 9:00 AM.

Congratulations to the sophomore girls’ volleyball team for their impressive win against Gateway. The team finished the season with a 12 and 7 record and won 7 of their last 9 matches. Great season ladies.

Hey volleyball players! Don’t forget that uniform turn-in is tomorrow immediately after school in the gym. Please see your coach if you have a conflict! Don’t forget your jersey, warm-ups, and bag!

AHS Special Olympics Basketball is almost ready to start!

Any student who is interested in participating should come to room S-6 and see Mrs. Pepe for an application. Practices start at the end of November and the season runs through the first week of March. We practice once or twice a week at AHS in the evening.

Student Initiated Groups-

Attention Chess Players! Plan to attend today’s chess club practice in the Enrichment Room after school. Snacks will be served!

Habitat for Humanity will meet today, after school in C-18. We need volunteers to visit the elementary and middle schools about our big project. This is an important meeting, so please be there.

The Remember Club asks you to buckle up and take care of one another.
