General Announcements

Attention all juniors and sophomores: Are you ready for college? Please come to the Guidance Office to sign up for the PSAT exam. The test is Wednesday morning from 7:30-10:30 on October 17th, so you will not miss any classes. The cost is $20.00. The last day to sign up is today, Friday October 12th.

FINALLY, THE MOMENT YOU’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR…HERE’S YOUR DECA FUN FACT FOR THE DAY!! Did you know that DECA’s scholarship program provides over $250,000 in scholarships each year? GET INVOLVED AND GET SOME CASH! Go DECA!

THE BRONCOS WIVES FOOD DRIVE HAS BEEN UNDERWAY AND MRS. PARMENTER’S CHOIR CLASSES ARE WINNING. PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO THE FOOD DRIVE BY BRINGING IN YOUR FOOD ITEMS BY WED. OCT. 17th. IF AHS WINS THE FOOD DRIVE THEN THE BRONCO PLAYERS WILL COME FOR A VISIT. PLEASE HELP US WIN THE FOOD DRIVE!!

Seniors! Don’t forget Senior Memory Blocks are due October 15 – your parents received the order form last May.

Your Warrior Marching Band will be performing at the Douglas County Marching Invitational tomorrow at 4:30pm. This will take place at Douglas County HS Stadium. Arapahoe’s finals performance will be sometime between 8:15 and 9:15pm. Please come out and cheer on your band! Good Luck Warrior Marching Band!!

Help Wanted! We need all hands on board to help clean out and organize the After Prom shed and storage units. If you can give us a couple of hours, please join us by the south shed by the soccer field at 2pm this coming Saturday, Oct. 13th. If you’re a part of Link Crew or National Honor Society, this is a great opportunity for you to get some community service hours.

Athletics

Congratulations to the Freshmen Black Volleyball team for another dominating victory last night. They beat Mountain Vista 25-5, 25-13. Way to go girls. Be sure to come and cheer them on this Saturday at their tournament at Arapahoe. Their first game is at 9:15 am

The varsity volleyball team came back after losing the first two games to win the next three and beat Mountain Vista last night! Thanks to everyone who came and supported the team and our Think Pink night. It was a great success. Congrats Warriors!

Congratulations Junior Varsity Volleyball players for defeating Mountain Vista last night in 3 games, it was a great win!

The softball team will take on Grand Junction in district tournament action this Saturday, October 13th at 10:00 am. The game will be played at Mountain Vista High School. Good luck Lady Warriors!

Attention swimmers and divers: If you are interested in going out for either the boys or girls swimming or diving team, please attend the following meetings. The boys swimmers and divers will meet Monday October 15th. The girls will meet in the pool area on Tuesday October 16th. Each meeting will be go from 2:25 - 2:40

AHS Special Olympics Basketball is almost ready to start!
Any seniors who are interested in participating should come to room S-6 and see Mrs. Pepe for an application. Practices start at the end of November and the season runs through the first week of March. We practice once or twice a week at AHS in the evening.

Student Initiated Groups-
Interested in playing Ultimate Frisbee? Come to the outdoor classroom on Tuesday, October 16 at 2:30 to discuss our upcoming Frisbee season. Hope to see you there.

Attention Warriors of the Word. Although we don’t have school next Thursday or Friday, we would still like to meet. Please meet at the flag pole on Thursday at 11:00 for some Ultimate Frisbee and fellowship. Bring your friends. The Frisbee will be provided.
