Athletics
Congratulations
to the Varsity girls' lacrosse team in their victory over Heritage/Littleton
last Friday night. After a ceremony honoring our graduating seniors, the
Warriors won the Three Sisters Trophy for the second year in a row by a score
of 17 - 13. The team played exceptionally well as a unit, particularly in
the second half, coming out and scoring five unanswered goals in a row. Britt
Klosterman led the charge on offense with four goals, three assists, followed
by Kate Englert with five goals, one assist, and Freshman Atlee Witt with a hat
trick. Alexis Linhardt helped to keep the ball on the Warriors end by
winning seven draw controls, and the defense led by Lindsay Sugo contained the
Gryphons' offense to maintain the lead. Well done, Warriors!
The girls
Gold Lacrosse team lost to Grandview 7 - 8 on Friday. Gold started the
game with no substitutes. Injuries during the game left them 3 short of a full
team by the end of the game. It was a valiant effort by the team.
The
freshman baseball team won both their games this weekend. Thadeus Labuszewski went 1-2, sparking Arapahoe Warriors
Freshman to a 6-2 victory in seven innings over Cherokee Trail on Friday at
home. Smoky Hill didn't have a chance on Saturday, as the Warriors won
in blowout fashion, 12-1 in six innings at Smoky Hill. The team is taking
on Cherry Creek at 4:30 at Arapahoe tonight. The Snack Shack will be
open; stop by the field and cheer them on!
Attention all cross country and distance runners. Come and get summer running information and registration forms tomorrow at the start of either lunch out at the baseball bleachers. Forms are also available online. See Coach Lutz in the Science Department if you are unable to attend.
