Thank
you to all the students who submitted work into this year's Art Attack.
The show is a huge success with over 500 pieces. Congratulations to ALL the
winners this year, you can recognize their accomplishments by the ribbon
hanging on their pieces. If you haven't seen the show yet, check out the
east wing and the library to see what fabulous artists we have at AHS.
Bye Bye
Birdie opens tomorrow! Come see this talented group of actors, singers,
musicians and technicians put on this year's musical! There are only a few
seats left, so get your tickets at lunch. $8.00 for students, $10.00 for
adults. The shows start tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
The Class of 2016 has extended voting for prom royalty
until Thursday this week due to low voter turnout. Log on to your
Naviance account to vote. The Junior female nominees are: Atlee Witt,
Emily Harden, Petra Sikorski, Sam Bartolome and Sara Davis. Junior male
nominees are: David Packer, Ethan Snow, Foster Houts, Jacob Reed, and Steven
Goldy. Senior female nominees are: Ella Moynihan, Erica Petersen,
Jennifer Swomley, Mandee Middleton, and Natalie Betts. Senior male
nominees are: Anthony Ferrie, Max Geise, Mike Carlson, Nick Lipski, and Philip
Barner.
Attention
freshmen! Hearing and vision testing is
this week! Testing will take place
during your English class. Please be
sure to wear and/or bring your glasses or contacts to school. Thank you!
Attention Juniors and Seniors:
This year’s prom is on Saturday, May 2nd at The Wildlife Experience.
Tickets are already on sale online through a link found on the Arapahoe Home
Page. Each upperclassman can purchase two tickets for $35 each. Tickets
purchased online will be handed out starting Friday, April 24 - Thursday, April
30th with a student ID. Tickets will cost $40 per person if bought at the door
the night of prom.
Prom guest forms are located in the Attendance Office. All
forms are due by Tuesday, April 28th no later than 3:00
p.m.
Are you looking to go to engineering school? Do you want to use
the design process to “engineer” a part through CAD Design, Prototyping and
Manufacturing? Are you interested in an engineering related field? If you will
be a Junior or Senior next year and have taken Tech Studies with 9 weeks of
Cad, then Engineering 1 or 2 is for you. Engineering 1 is a Junior
level class and will be offered 2nd Semester, while Engineering 2 is a Senior
level class being offered 1st Semester. Please see Mr. Loptien or Mr.
McMullen about register for Engineering 1 or 2!
Auditions for the 2015
- 2016 AHS Choirs will be held April 20 - 24. Please see Ms. Parmenter in the Choir Room for
details and to sign up for an audition time. We are also looking for piano
accompanists for next year.
Athletics
Congratulations to the JV girls tennis team. The team defeated
Cherokee Trail going undefeated 22-0!! Great job Warriors. Come over to Powell tomorrow for the
last home game of this season.
Congratulations
to the ABK girls Varsity soccer team in their 2-0 win over Eaglecrest last
night bringing their record to 7-1-1. Goals were scored by Grace Parsons
and Dani Babb. Come out and support the girls in their other games this
week - Thursday at 4:30 at
Overland and Saturday at 2:00 against
Regis at the AHS Soccer Field. Go Warriors!
Attention
all lacrosse Fans: Come out to
support your Varsity girls lacrosse classmates. They are taking on Cherokee
Trail High School, at Newton Field today, at 4:30 pm. The girls appreciate the cheers coming from the stands!

out to cheer on your Warrior freshman baseball team as they play Grandview
today at 4:30 on
the AHS baseball field.
