General Announcements
Freshmen, sophomores and juniors, be sure to visit the voting
booths in the cafeteria today with your student ID to cast your vote for next
year's Student Council class and student body officers. Election results will be posted on the
student council website under the Arapahoe Activities' page.
Hey sophomores and juniors, if you are intending to take a
Social Studies AP class next year, you MUST come to one of the meetings this
week. For AP US History, Psychology, Economics, and Government - the final
meeting will be today after school in the Forum.
Students:
Major Karrie Bem, an Arapahoe grad and AHS's representative from the Air Force
Academy, will visit Arapahoe tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. Visit
with Major Bem in the Post Grad Center tomorrow.
Attention all Arapahoe students! We need all of you to open your
planner and flip to Tuesday April the 28th (Pause)
Nothing there? Please write, in pen, Mr. Arapahoe Competition because we wanna
see you there! Tickets are only $5 for a priceless night, some of our very own
wonderful Senior boys will compete against one another with talent, some
choreographed dancing, even some formal wear and the audience will vote for the
gentleman that represents Arapahoe the best. Make sure to get your tickets during
lunch, and bring posters to support your friends!
The Muses are here! The Muses are
here! Volume 13 of the Muse is now available, in four convenient locations
around the school. You can pick one up in the Library, the DECA store, the Language Artsoffice,
and the Art office. This year's Muse is
the best we've ever printed. It has poetry, photography, art and fiction, all
done by your fellow students. Pick up a lasting
memento of your time at Arapahoe, for only$10.
If you
are interested in reading the daily announcements next year, sign up for
auditions in the Attendance Office with Mrs. Ayres. Auditions will
be held April 27,
right after school in the Drama Room, E15.
Want to
win an Apple watch? How about a day at Water World with a group of
friends? After Prom is almost here! Tickets will be on sale during lunch on April 29- May 1.
Tickets are $20 each and $25 at the door. You must be a junior or a
senior to attend, or be accompanied by a junior or a senior. We still
need volunteers for the event, so please tell your folks to sign up! All
links are on the website.
Are you going to prom? Have
you already purchased your tickets online? Avoid the lines because you know
everyone else will wait until the last day, and come pick up your tickets today during both lunches!
Prom guest forms are located in the Attendance Office. All
forms are due by Tuesday, April 28th no later than 3:00
p.m.
Reminder:
Alive @ 25 class today in W101 at 2:45 TODAY,
if you signed up please show up. There is space still available for the class.
If you are 15 1/2 and are interested in taking the class it is free, it is
normally $39. Just show up at 2:45. The class goes until 7:15pm. Any questions ask Deputy Englert
Attention all seniors who have taken Personal Finance
class. Applications for the $1,000 personal finance college scholarship
are available in the post grad office. Applications are due May
1st.
Seniors…. Just a reminder to check the library and
bookkeeping lists around the building to make sure that you don’t have a fine
or overdue book. You WILL NOT be able to pick-up your cap and gown if you have
any outstanding fines. Deadline date to
return any library materials is Friday, May 8.
Deadline date to take care of any fines is Thursday, May 14.
For those
students who completed the survey indicating an interest in taking computer science
next year, please check your school email for a follow-up survey. Survey is due
by May 1st.

Have you thought about becoming an Engineer? Do
you want to learn more about the opportunities available in the engineering
field? Then consider signing up for the Engineering classes offered
through the Technology and Engineering Department. If you will be a
Junior or Senior next year then Engineering 1 or 2 is for
you. Engineering 1 is a Junior level class and will be offered 2nd
Semester, while Engineering 2 is a Senior level class being offered 1st
Semester. Please see Mr. Loptien or Mr. McMullen about registering for
Engineering 1 or 2!
Athletics
Today at 4:30 is the last home swim meet for your
Warrior boys' swim and dive team. Don't miss it! There will be a
farewell to the Seniors, many of whom will be swimming in collegiate pools next
fall. Come and see the guys who think oxygen is overrated. Go Warriors!
Come out
and support the Varsity and JV Warrior
Girls soccer teams today as they compete against Cherry Creek. JV kick
off at 4:30 at AHS while the Varsity game
begins at 7
p.m. at LPS
Stadium. Tonight is Senior Night before the Varsity
game so arrive early to honor our seniors, Sarah Gertz and Melissa Riley, and
cheer on the team. Go Warriors!
It’s
divide and conquer this afternoon, as your JV track and
field Warriors vie for top honors at the JV League championships. The
girls compete at the Stutler Bowl, while guys go for the Gold at Legacy
Stadium. All the action starts at 3:30 this
afternoon. Good luck, team!
Attention
all girls that are interested in playing softball in the fall. There will be a
mandatory Booster Club Meeting on Monday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m. in Room
E9. We would like players and at least one parent to attend. See Coach Krueger
if you have any questions.
All boys
interested in trying out for boys basketball summer teams. We will have tryouts
starting next
week Monday through Thursday. Teams will be made Thursday evening. If you are in
a spring sport tryouts will be held at 6:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday please plan on attending.
Shout out
to the Warrior fans for braving the cold and rain and heading to LPS last night
for the guys varsity lacrosse game. Tough battle, but as Warriors, we
fight on ... and appreciate the Warrior spirit of our fans!
