Did you hear that? It's the sound of the 2nd Annual Black Friday Avalanche of Toys & Miracle Minute Class Competition to help collect for the 16th Annual Toy Drive. On Fri., Dec. 1 at the start of Period 3, the classroom that brings in the most toys will receive a $5 Chipotle gift card for each student. The classroom that brings in the most $$ during the Miracle Minute will receive a doughnut party. A reminder to shop the sales on Black Friday and bring to school on Dec. 1! Let’s try to beat our amount raised last year which was over $2700 and 200 toys collected in one minute.
57% of seniors have submitted applications! If are not one of those students and college is in your future, come to the last College Application Boot Camp of the year on PLC Wednesday at 7AM. This session is for students needing help getting started, those with questions, or students simply needing work time. This week wraps up college visits for the fall semester. Seniors! If you have a December 1st deadline, please complete your blue transcript request forms and turn them in with payment to Mrs. Arnold no later than 11am on Thursday, November 16th. Be sure that your deadline dates in Naviance are exactly the same as the dates on your forms prior to submitting them.
Attention Sources of Strength Peer and Adult Leaders. We will be holding our monthly meeting this week, November 15th after school from 2:30-3:15 in the forum to discuss our December campaigns. Please show up with your computer, friends, and ideas. Also, check our Google Classroom for announcements. See Ms. Zimmerman or Ms. Hancock in the counseling department with questions.
The LPS Stride event was a huge success with nearly 2500 participants. Money raised is near $40,000. Thank you for helping make this a wonderful community event, which promotes a healthy and active lifestyle, a priority in our school! Congratulations to Pria Zaveri for placing 1st in the 5k Female 13-15 age division and Sarah Lorenzen for placing 1st in the 5k Female 16 - 18 age division, Grace Cadorette for placing 2nd in the 5K Female 16 - 18 age division, Alex Widdowson for placing 2nd place in the 10k Female 16-18 age division, Delan Palmer for placing 2nd in the 10K Male 16-18 age division. Please make sure to Congratulate our amazing runners!
Athletics
Congratulations to the Arapahoe Varsity Cheer team for their 4th place finish at the UCA Regional Mile High Cheer Competition this past weekend and earning a National Bid to the High School Cheer Nationals Competition in Orlando, FL in February 2018! Congratulations to the Arapahoe JV Cheer team for completing their competition season with 9th place at the UCA Regional Mile High Cheer Competition. Please join the Arapahoe Cheer Teams Tuesday, Nov. 14th for a Fundraiser at Cranelli's Italian Restaurant at 10047 Park Meadows Drive, Unit F, Lone Tree, CO. Cranelli's will donate 20% of all proceeds back the the Arapahoe Cheer Program. Come out and enjoy a great Italian meal!
