Since it’s Valentine's Day tomorrow, the Freshman student council would love to give some appreciation to our fabulous staff at Arapahoe! We are so thankful for all that you do! All staff members are welcome to visit the staff lounge tomorrow morning before PLC meetings to enjoy a Santiago's breakfast burrito!!! Students, please stop by our table during 1st and 2nd lunch tomorrow and write your favorite teachers either a quick thank you or make them a special valentine! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!"
The PE and Health Department is sponsoring Wellness Week this week! All Staff and students are invited to participate in this challenge. Check the Arapahoe website for the wellness challenge worksheet. Look and listen for physical, mental, and social health tips all week long. And this WEdnesday, Valentine’s Day, we will be wearing the color red for heart disease awareness. Invest in your health today and join us today!
Free Alive @ 25 class next Tuesday February 20th at 2:30 pm in room W1874. If you are voluntarily taking the class the Sheriff's Office pays for your $79 fee. If you are 15 1/2 you can get drivers permit after taking the class and a lot insurance companies give you a discount. This is a 4 1/2 hour class. Sign up online at www.aliveat25.us to register for the class and the password is "arapahoe" Any questions ask Deputy Englert
The Swim Waiver for current AHS students will be Thursday, March 8th @ 6:00am in the swimming pool. Students must email or stop by and see Mrs. Leyden in the Women's PE Office to pre-register. Space is limited to 15 students. See Mrs. Leyden if you have any questions.
Students - Interested in the Health Sciences Program offered by LPS for next year? Stop by the Counseling Department and see your counselor. Applications are due by February 28th.
Athletics
Are you tired of the olympics? If so, come cheer on your Unified Basketball team tonight at 7pm against Front Range in the AHS main gym. It is Senior night, come honor our Seniors. Whoa, Nellie!!!!!!
Your LPS hockey team had a strong 3-2 WIN against Aspen in overtime on Saturday which puts them in the #1 spot in their conference. The team has 2 big games this week so please come out to cheer them on! They face Columbine on Thursday at 8pm at South Suburban and Res Christian on Saturday at NOCO in Fort Collins at 1:15 pm.
Congratulations to the Lady Water Warriors on their 4th place finish at State this past weekend! Diver Franny Cable was crowned State Champion, with a score of 531.45! Senior Delaney Smith finished her career in style with a 4th place finish in the 100 breaststroke and a second place finish in the 200 Individual Medley. Dive coach Jeff Smith was honored as the Diving Coach of the Year! Way to go team!
