General Announcements

*Hey Warriors! Make sure you stop by the cafeteria and write a note to your positive friend this week! Sources of Strength knows it has been difficult to not see your friends at school every day, so we encourage you to write a positive note to a friend and hang it on the positive friend wall. 

 

*Reminder: Special schedule next week! Next week Monday is President’s Day and no school. Group A will be having their in-person days on Wednesday (late start day as usual) and Thursday. Group B is in-person on their regular days of Tuesday and Friday. 

 

*Hey Warriors! Did you complete this week’s ahswarriorsofficial instagram Share the Love Insta Week Two challenge? You have the chance to win a Chick-fil-A gift card!

 

*Seniors planning to attend Arapahoe Community College!  Sign in to the Discover ACC event to learn about career pathways and earn scholarships.  For more information, see the event listing on the Post Grad Calendar.

 

*Seniors!  Metro State University of Denver is hosting a FREE application weekend!  This Saturday and Sunday, you can submit your application without paying the application fee.  For more information, check out this website: https://www.msudenver.edu/admissions/applyforfree/ or check out the event listing on the Post Grad calendar.  

 

*Graduating Seniors looking for scholarships: check out the latest scholarship additions to the Naviance scholarship list! There are scholarship opportunities for students interested in studying the arts, education, agriculture, or automotive careers; there's one for graduates who have a learning disability (including ADD), one for students with a parent or grandparent who served in the military,  and even one for those of you who relocated to the Denver metro area during high school! You won't want to miss fast-approaching deadlines so check out the list that is updated each week and apply!

 

*Students, now is the time to sign up for a locker partner for next school year. The Locker Partner Request Form is on the AHS website under Registration 2021-22.  

 

*Wow! Our teachers and staff are amazing! Have you watched this year’s AHS Teacher Dance yet? 

 

*Attention Juniors and Seniors: If you have not already done so please pick up your ACADEMIC VARSITY LETTER from Mrs. Dunsmore in the front office.  

 

*Seniors! Herff Jones will be at AHS on the south patio next week Thursday, February 18th & Friday, February 19th from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm to deliver graduation announcements.  You may still order announcements online at www.herffjones.com or in-person when they are here. Get yours now before they run out! If the weather is not cooperative, Herff Jones will reschedule and we will communicate any change.

 

*Have you ever thought about teaching as a career? Would you like to be better prepared to succeed in college? LPS offers 2 courses for students interested in the field of education: Teacher Cadet and Early Childhood Education. Both of these CTE courses are located at Arapahoe Community College with college credit opportunities.

*CALLING ALL AHS SNOWBOARDERS AND SKIERS!! Make sure to email Mrs. Abner your gnarly videos or photos by February 28th. Film or photo your talents in horizontal format, no more than 2 minutes.  Kabner@lps.k12.co.us

 

*Free virtual Alive @ 25 class for Arapahoe High School students is Wednesday March 3rd, 4:00pm - 8:30pm. If you are voluntarily taking the class the Sheriff's Office pays your $79 fee.  If you are 15 1/2 you can get your driver's permit after taking the class and many insurance companies give you a discount. This is a 4 1/2 hour class. Sign up on-line at www.aliveat25.us and the password is "arapahoe". Any questions ask Deputy Englert.

Athletics

 

*PLEASE SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!  On Saturday, February 13th, Nekter Juice Bar - Cherry Hills location 2500 Orchard Rd., Greenwood Village is donating 15% of all orders to support the AHS Boys and Girls Swim & Dive Team! Come in anytime between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM to support the team. 

 

*Please support the AHS Softball teams by dining in or grab-and-go at Chipotle on Tuesday, February 16 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Please show this flyer or use the online code for grab-and-go.  Every purchase will help us raise much needed funds for our field. Thank you!
