General Announcements

*Juniors & Sophomores: It's your turn to start exploring colleges! Get started here at AHS by signing up to meet with reps in the Postsecondary Center! These are low-key, casual visits where you can learn more about colleges from across the US without having to travel. This week's line-up includes Nebraska, Baylor, Fort Lewis, and Texas A&M. Find the Naviance icon in your Google waffle to register, and see Mrs. Conn in room S1401 if you'll miss class.

*Have you ever dreamed of sailing around the world? Check out the AFSA National High School Essay Contest where a 1250-word essay could get you full tuition for a Semester at Sea, a $2500 stipend, AND a trip to Washington DC! Apply by April 3th. See your counselor, or stop by the Post-Secondary Center for more details.

*Warriors, are you searching for that perfect part-time summer job that won't conflict with your school work or activities?  Check out the AHS Student Job Board, just outside the business office in the south hallway.  We've recently posted many new opportunities and the board is updated often.  All are in our local area and a few even offer college scholarship opportunities.

*Warriors, do you have any extra art supplies, stuffed animals, or sensory toys such as fidgets, small puzzles, or easy board games? Capstone group "Continued Care" is taking donations of new or used toys to donate to the memory loss unit at Windcrest Senior Retirement Home! Please donate to Mrs. Roebuck's room in C1452 today through April 1st!

*Support AHS Instrumental Music Programs and a new local business at the same time!  Zell's (across from AHS in the old Starbucks location) is hosting a restaurant fundraiser for AHS Bands, TOMORROW, between 2:00pm and 7:00pm.  Mention AHS Band Boosters and 20% of the sale will go to ABB.

*Hey Warriors! An AHS Capstone project created a Baby Supplies Drive with the goal of collecting items for new mothers in need! If you would like to help out, just bring in new baby clothes, used but clean clothes, and/or any toys or new diapers to help out the cause starting March 1st.  Donation boxes are located at the library and at the bubble. Thank you!
