General Announcements

Good Morning Warriors!  Cafe specials today are:  Chick Fil A sandwiches and calzones.  Lunch today is pig in a blanket, or breakfast bowls with a cinnamon roll, cold sandwiches, and salads.

Attention all Drama Club members, the first meeting for all old and new members is today after school in the auditorium.  We will be going over shows for this year, including auditions for the fall play Romeo and Juliet. You won't want to miss it!

Freshmen interested in running for a Student Council office should plan on attending one of the intent-to-run meetings after school today at 2:30 p.m. in C13.  See the student council website for more information.

Arapahoe Juniors and Seniors . . . a reminder that Herff Jones will be here during lunch to display the Arapahoe class ring program and hand out information and pricing and answer your questions. Finger sizes will also be taken. Orders will be taken next week on Wednesday and Thursday, August 28th and 29^th during lunches. We look forward to seeing you!

ATTENTION SENIORS! The Senior class photo has been rescheduled. The new date and time for the photo is Tuesday, September 10th at 7:50 a.m.  Please mark this in your student planners.  Again, the Senior class photo will now be on Tuesday, September 10th at 7:50 a.m. 

Seniors! Congratulations on being seniors. We hope your year is off to a good start! The yearbook deadline for your senior photo and bio is Thursday, Sept. 12. You can deliver them to the journalism room E-8. We will not use the student ID photo you took at schedule pickup in the yearbook, so be sure to make arrangements to take a formal portrait. If you need a quick, easy and inexpensive yearbook photo, we will have a professional photographer on campus on Sept. 3^rd and 4^th. She will take your yearbook portrait for only $20. See Mr. Anderson in the journalism room E-8 for details.

Welcome back Warriors! Are you looking for an activity to do after school?  Come check out the Drama Club! We will have a meeting for only freshman and those new to AHS today after school in Room E-15. The first meeting for all members, old or new will be tomorrow after school in the auditorium.

Warriors ~  If you do not intend to use your locker at all this year and would be willing to give your locker space to someone else, please come and talk to Mrs. Lewis at the front desk in the Main Office.

Attention Warriors!  The Cafe staff would like to welcome you back and remind you that our cafe specials today are Panda Express  and Chick Fil A's famous chicken Sandwiches.  We also have a variety of cold sandwiches, salads, snacks, fries, and frozen yogurt.  Don't forget that lunch is the best bargain in town at $2.90.  See you at 10:30 and 11:35 Warriors!!

General Announcements

Seniors:  Today is the last day to pick up your photo collage and your baby picture, they will be available at Fun in the Sun.

Grades 9-10 & 11 . . . today is your deadline to return all library materials.  Your registration card will be held if you have any outstanding fines.  Be sure to check both the library and bookkeeping lists. 

Students please be aware that during the four days of finals the library will be a QUIET STUDY AREA only.  If you need to have group discussions for an assignment please do it in the cafeteria. Thanks for your cooperation.

Attention Warriors:  The cafe will only be open Monday and Tuesday of finals week, so please plan ahead.  If you still have a negative balance, please be sure to pay that off before Friday the 17th.

All student fees must be paid this week!  If you have an outstanding balance you will not be able to complete arena scheduling next week.  Check your infinite campus account to see if your fees are paid; or check the lists outside the bookkeeper's office and the library.  Don't miss out on that class you really want because your fees are not paid!

Members of National Honor Society, please remember to turn in your Service Log before the end of the school year.  You can turn your service log into the basket on Mr. Smith's desk in the science office.  Thanks for a great year!

Student visitors are not allowed at Powell at any time during the school day. If they are coming to see a teacher, then they must get approval from the teacher, and then meet or "visit" with the teacher after 2:45 p.m.  Thanks!

Looking for something to do June 10 - 15? Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes at the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office? The Sheriff's Office will be hosting a free youth academy for six days in June. This is an opportunity to see the responsibilities and challenges of public safety in Arapahoe County. See Deputy Englert for more information.

Athletics

ATTENTION WARRIORS:  Here's some detailed information regarding the Boys Lacrosse game against Cherry Creek  tomorrow....  The State Championship Lacrosse game will take place on Saturday, May 18th at Sports Authority Field.  Game time is 4:30 pm.  Student tickets are $10 and parking is free in Lots A & B.  Spectator entrance is at Gate 10 and the Arapahoe section is on the Northwest side of the stadium.  Go Warriors!

All PE lockers must be cleaned out by the end of school today.  Locks will be cut and all clothing left after Monday will be donated.  This includes all athletic lockers and sports teams.
