Announcements
Congratulations
to our newly-elected 2016-2017 officers! We appreciate all the
applicants’ courage and effort and look forward to continuing to see them at
general council and class meetings next year. We also encourage
runners-up to apply for Ambassador positions in the fall. Thank you to
all the students who voted in this year's election. To find out who your
2016-2017 Student Council Officers will be, please refer to the slides in the
cafeteria!
Seniors, Your LPS Google Account will be deleted sometime in June. If
you want to take any of your documents/sites in your google account, you will
need to take care of that before then. Please see your email for more details.
If you are missing a couple of umbrellas from Prom, see
Mrs Lhotta in the math office.
Art Attack has come to an end. If your work was in the
show, please make sure you stop by the art department to pick it up.

auditions start at 2:30 today in room E-15. Haven’t signed up yet? There’s
still time! Please see Ms. Biggi in the Attendance Office if you would like to
sign up or if you have any questions. See you at auditions!
Yearbooks
will be distributed this coming Monday, May 9 from 2:20 to 3:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. You must show a photo ID
or an Infinite Campus printout with your photo to pick up your yearbook. All school fees and fines must be paid before you can
pick up your yearbook. Check infinite campus to
make sure your fees are paid. See the AHS website for more details.
Seniors -- all library materials are due no later than this Friday.
All library fines will need to be paid prior to picking up your graduation cap
and gown. Fines may be paid to the bookkeeper, Mrs. Cheney, or in the library
to Mr. Murphy or Mrs. Rice.
Have you ever wanted to play an instrument but didn't
know how? Have you ever wanted to wear a tuba? This week, the
Arapahoe Band will have opportunities for YOU to try instruments like
trombones, sousaphones, drums, saxophones, and more! Bring your friends
and go to the band room after school today at 3 PM and
Friday at 2:30 PM to learn how to play these and
other awesome instruments!

Color Guard is having clinics and tryouts starting this week. If you are
interested, please attend our informational meeting today at 6:30pm in the AHS Theatre.
Visit our website for more dates of clinics and tryouts. You can also
talk to Mr. Funk in the band office for more info. Be a part of a state
champion team! A-Team Hut!
Athletics
Congrats to your Boys JV Black
lacrosse team on their 19-1, win over Eaglecrest yesterday! Head over to Powell
today as they take on Regis at 4:30pm. This match-up never disappoints! Game
on for both the JV boys Black and Gold Lacrosse teams on Saturday! Watch Gold
defend their title in the annual rivalry between Arapahoe JV Gold and JV Black at noon at Powell.

league meet this Saturday at
Smoky Hill!
Congratulations to the ABK Varsity
and JV teams on their wins over Pomona last night! Varsity won 5-0 with goals
contributed by Camryn MacMillan, Dani Babb, Alex Jackson, Maddie Matthews,
Haley Archuleta. The JV score was 9- 0 with goals scored by Summer Mock,
Ashlyn Baird, Natalie Kuroda, Arianna Young, Annie Baker and Ashley Wuthrich.
Great Job Warriors! The ABK JV and C teams kick off the ABK JV
Invitational this afternoon at the AHS soccer fields. The JV take on
Arvada West at 4 on the south field and the C team competes against Bear Creek
on the north field. Come out and cheer them on!
The Girls Tennis Team is collecting gently used tennis
rackets for a charity called Rackets for All. You will receive a raffle
ticket for every racket you bring in. The winner will be announced next Monday, May 9th.
There will be a table in the cafeteria where you can donate your racket or drop
it off in the Mrs. Leyden's Office by the Aux Gym.
