General Announcements
Arapahoe High School Winter Dance……. Come with a date, or come with some friends! Let’s dance the winter night away with our cowboy hats and boots on while supporting the Arapahoe Cheers and Toms teams! The dance will be held on Saturday, January 27 from 7-10 PM in the Aux Gym. Dress is western and the cost is $10 at the door or sold the week before in the cafeteria during lunch. If you will have a guest, please pick up a form in the Activities/Attendance Office. The form needs to be completed and returned back to the Activities/Attendance Office by 3 PM on Monday, January 22.
Seniors, three weeks from today, on Friday, February 2nd, the Post Grad Center will host an Application Day during school hours. Students will receive assistance completing their applications and all associated fees will be waived by the participating colleges and by AHS. Please sign up to attend with Mrs. Hall in Post Grad.
Do you like to write? Are you passionate about stories? Well, we have the place for you! The Writing Club has its first meeting next Tuesday, January 16th after school in room 1456 from 2:30 to 3:30. This club will feature author-visits, competitions, artwork, and more! Come join the school's most amazing team of writers!
Poetry Out Loud is coming to Arapahoe. Our school competition will take place on February 7, with participating students reciting 3 poems from the Poetry Out Loud anthology. The winner will qualify for the state competition and have the chance to compete for $200 and an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, DC, to compete for the national championship--and a $20,000 cash prize! Athletics
Our AHS Unified Basketball team is playing their 1st game of the season against Heritage next Tuesday January 16 at 7 pm in the Sitting Eagle Gym. Come and support our Unified Warriors as they take on the Unified Eagles! We can’t wait to watch Jaden set the bar high for scoring and watch Kyle show everyone what a true Sportsman is like.
All girls planning on, or interested in, playing tennis this spring: There will be a pre-season informational meeting next Wednesday, January 17th at 6pm in the Forum. We will be going over the schedule, tryouts and other important information, see you then!
Our Varsity Cheer team will be competing at the UCA National Championships in Orlando Florida coming up in early February. The team is holding a fundraiser to help with the cost of this trip. The fundraiser includes a Nuggets game. The Pepsi Center is reserving sections for us to the Nuggets vs Trailblazers game on January 22nd! Discounted tickets are available.
