General Announcements

*The Computer Science coding club meets after school today in Ms. Bownd’s room.

*Do you have any old blankets, coats, or gloves lying around? If so we encourage you to bring them and donate to our four boxes around the school. All warm clothing and blankets will be donated to Denver Rescue Mission to help the homeless community. You can also scan the QR code on the donation boxes and flyers to donate directly to a gofundme for the project. The drive will run for the next three weeks. Every donation counts! Thanks for supporting our Big Idea project.

*The Technology Student Association (TSA) competed in their state competition last week and had a great showing. Julia and Claire were semi-finalists in Children's Story, Noah, Brock, and Addison placed second in System Control Technology. Addison and Marie placed 1st in Data Science and Analytics. If you are interested in growing TSA, learning, and applying technology, please come on Thursdays after school in E1286 after Spring Break as we start to prepare for next year. See Mr. Babcock if you have any questions.

*The 18th Annual Art Attack is underway, and the Art department is now taking pieces for this year's show. We will be collecting artwork through Friday, March 18th, so don't wait. Please swing by the Art office for information on how to submit your work. If you have any questions, please email or come in and see Mrs. Hawthorne, Ms. Davidson, or Ms. King.

*Free Alive @ 25 class is Tuesday, March 16th, from 3:45pm - 8:15pm in room W1874. If you voluntarily take the class, the Sheriff's Office pays for your $79 registration fee. If you are 15 1/2 you can get a driver's permit after taking the course. Also, a lot of insurance companies will give you a discount. To register, visit www.aliveat25.us and use the password "arapahoe". If you have any questions, ask Deputy Englert. 

Athletics

*Your 5th ranked Girls Varsity Basketball team beat Lakewood Friday night by a score of 51 to 25. Arapahoe Warriors will host the Columbine Rebels in the third round of the 5A state girl's basketball tournament tonight. Game time is set for 6:00pm in the Sitting Eagle Gymnasium. A win against Columbine on Tuesday would put them into the Great 8. 

Ticket prices are $9 for adults and $7 for K-12 students and Senior Citizens. No student passes will be accepted. Tickets can be purchased by CASH ONLY at the door. *Tryouts for the 2022-23 Toms dance team will take place March 15-17th! There will be an informational meeting for Parents and Dancers this Wednesday, March 2nd, at 6:30pm in the Forum. Attendance at an informational meeting will be required to audition.

*Are you interested in trying out for the Arapahoe Cheerleading Team for the 2022-2023 season? Please visit the AHS cheerleading website to fill out the interest form and sign up for upcoming open gyms. Tryouts will run from April 11th to April 15th. There will be a parent and athlete interest meeting on March 31st at 7:00pm in the AHS tiered classroom to gain more insight into the program itself. We look forward to seeing you there!
