General Announcements

Hey Warriors! Dress up for spirit day and our Homecoming Pep Assembly tomorrow! Freshman and juniors wear gold and sophomore and seniors wear black. Your warrior football team plays Gateway High-school tomorrow night at 7:00 and the dance is from 8:00-11:00 on Saturday night! Happy homecoming week!

Students, we are as excited for Homecoming dress up days this week as you are! Please remember that you need to follow all dress code rules: no masks, no weapons, no underwear worn over clothing, and no inappropriate references on clothing. Thank you.

Attention Students! Art Club will be meeting every day this week to work on the homecoming float in room E5 at 2:30.

It’s that time of year for eligible juniors and seniors to start applying for membership in National Honor Society!  If you are a junior with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, or a senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher, then you are eligible to apply for membership.  Eligible students should have received a letter inviting them to apply and also explaining the application process.  If your GPA makes you eligible for NHS, but you haven't received a letter at home, please contact Mr. Smith or Ms. McGeorge in the science office, or Ms. Leclaire in language arts. This letter also tells about important informational meetings going on next week.  If you are applying for membership in NHS, you must attend one of these meetings to learn about the club and the application process.  Remember that these meetings are only for eligible juniors and seniors, so if you are unsure whether you are eligible, please contact Mr. Smith, Ms. McGeorge, or Ms. Leclaire.

Reminder all students planning to attend the homecoming dance need to bring their AHS student ID to get into the dance.  Also, if you have completed and returned a guest form, your guest will need to bring a photo ID with them as well.  Thank you!

Parents of Seniors;  this Friday, Oct. 9^th, is the deadline for putting your “memory ad” in the Yearbook for your Senior.  Begin by going to www.yearbookordercenter.com .  Memory ads begin as low as $75, and your senior will be anxious to see it next Spring when the yearbooks arrive.

Athletics

Your Varsity Boys’ Soccer team returns for a home match against Smoky Hill High School this afternoon at 4:30. The Junior Varsity will play Smoky Hill at 4:30 as well, on the JV field. Come cheer your Warriors to victory!

Registration for Wrestling is now open. If you haven't already registered for the 2015-16 Wrestling Season, please register online at ahswarriors.org or arapahoewrestling.org.

Attention AHS Baseball Players and Parents:  The first AHS Baseball Booster Club meeting for the 2015/2016 school year is set Monday, Oct. 12th, at 7:00pm in the Forum.  Coach Muller will be discussing the baseball program, winter workouts, strength and conditioning, etc.  The Booster Board will also be addressing important dates, fundraising and Fall Field Day, which is Oct. 25th.  Please plan on attending the meeting.  Parents and players are welcome (freshman parent(s) and player are required).
