General Announcements

*Our AHS Thespians present the “Game of Tiaras”! Performances are this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 and available at Arapahoe High School Thespian tickets. This modern comedy imagines what it would be like for Disney princesses to fight over rule of the land, like Game of Thrones. See you there!


*Eat dinner out at Modern Market Eatery at the Streets of Southglenn on Wednesday, October 13 and support your Arapahoe Band while getting a little music to your mouth!  See flyer details and get 30% of your meal’s price will be donated back to Arapahoe Band Boosters!

 

*FBLA will have our third meeting this Thursday in the forum after school.  Come to the meeting to have some fun, sign up for activities and learn about FBLA competitive events.  Students who register for FBLA and pay for membership by this Friday will earn a bonus 10 lettering points.  Be sure to sign up soon.


*If you signed up for the PSAT, please pick up your free practice booklet in the counseling office.


*If you are interested in taking a concurrent enrollment course at ACC, drop by the counseling office this week or next. The deadline for applying is coming soon! This is only for courses that are offered at Arapahoe Community College not those offered here Arapahoe High School. 


*Are you a Junior or Senior?  Have you taken 3 business classes?  Then you may be eligible to be part of the National Business Honor Society.  Stop by the Business department to learn more about this great opportunity.  But hurry, fall applications will only be accepted until this Friday, October 8th.  


*Boo! Warrior Media is hosting a Scary Story contest for the Halloween season! Write a short scary story with the theme of "Black Magic." Enter by October 23rd for the chance to win a prize and maybe even get published! Join the Scary Story Google Classroom with code "uuetflz" for more details! Look for posters around school and/or email us at ahsjournalism@lpsk12.org with any questions.


*Calling all puppy lovers!! Come join the puppy raising club run by Freedom Service Dogs Association; our first meeting will be Wednesday, October 13 from 4:00-4:30 p.m. in the forum. Through this club, you will be able to raise and train a puppy to become a service dog. Parents are encouraged to attend if you are planning to adopt a puppy. Even if you cannot adopt a puppy, come to the meeting for more information to see how you can get involved, or look on the club website for more information.


*Let's Go Warriors!  Register to participate in this year’s STRIDE RUN/WALK or SLEEP event on Sunday, October 24, 2021. So far we have the most registrations for all three high schools. Let’s keep it that way! If we get the most for our level we WIN and therefore KIDS WIN! Challenge your friends, teams, families and neighbors to register! *The Swim Waiver Test will be held on November 10th. All students who are interested in trying to test out of the required swim class have an opportunity to take the swim waiver test. You can find the swim waiver sign up on the AHS Website. You can also ask Mrs. Bradley or Mrs. Abner to help get you signed up.


*Come to the FBLA Shred-A-Thon this Saturday, October 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the AHS east parking lot. We will have a shredding truck on site and we will be accepting donations of $10 per box of paper.  


*Seniors! Do you have a November 1st college application deadline?  The College Application Tracking Form is due on October 12th by 3:45 p.m. for all schools with a November 1st application deadline.  See Mrs. Arnold in the main office or Mrs. Conn in Post Secondary Center if you have questions regarding the tracking form.


*The AHS College Fair 2021 for Juniors and Seniors is fast approaching! Come visit in-person with over 50 Colleges on Thursday, October 28 from 6:00-7:00 p.m!


*Did you know you can earn  high school graduation credit by taking driver education? Go to https://littletonpublicschools.net/driversed. We have Saturday classes, after school classes, and online only classes this Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer. Need a license test before, during, or after school onsite at LHS in LPS Driver Ed cars, call 303-347-4380.


*Free in-person Alive@25 class is Monday, October 25 at 3:45 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. in room W1874. If you are voluntarily taking the class the Sheriff's Office pays for your $79 fee.  If you are 15 1/2 you can get a driver's permit after taking the class and many insurance companies give you a discount. This is a 4 1/2 hour class. Sign up on-line at www.alive@25.us. The registration code is "arapahoe". Any questions, ask Deputy Englert.




Athletics

 

*Congratulations to your 2021 boys golf team!  They backed up their #1 ranking by winning the 5A state championship that was contested on Monday and Tuesday at the Colorado Spring Country Club.  Your Warriors beat 15 other teams while defeating second place Cherry Creek by 17 strokes.  All four individuals placed in the top 10 with Senior Will Kates winning the individual state title in a two hole playoff.  This is the second boys golf team title in school history, the first happening in 1988! Great job Warriors!
 
*Last evening, the Boys’ Varsity Soccer team was victorious over Overland High School by a score of 5-1. The Junior Varsity shut out Overland 4-0. Great effort Warriors!
 
*C Team Field Hockey competes tonight against Mountain Vista on AHS turf at 7:30. 
 
*The latest rankings are out and the Boys Varsity Tennis warriors have moved into second place in the 5A state rankings!  The team is traveling to Boulder for regionals today, Good Luck Tennis Warriors!
 
*Boys interested in playing Lacrosse this Spring, please bring your parents and join Coach Bobzien to hear all about the upcoming season TONIGHT in the Forum at 7:00 p.m. See you there!
 
*Interested in swimming with the girls AHS Swim & Dive team? Coach Mike will be hosting an informational meeting Tuesday October 12th from 3:40 pm - 4:15 pm in the Library Forum.
