 General Announcements

*Juniors: This year’s PSAT/NMSQT test will be offered on Wednesday, October 12th.  This test is optional but it is used to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship program.  The fee is $20.  To register, follow this link to the September Drumbeat or this form in our announcement.  Sophomores may take the test if they like, but please know it is optional.  Sophomores have their own link.  The registration deadline is  Monday, October 3rd


*A reminder from Deputy Englert and Deputy Tipton, First Responder Club is tomorrow,  Wednesday 8:30am - 9:30am in  room E1287.


*Seniors, why sleep in tomorrow when you could be at College Application Boot Camp instead? Come learn the hottest tips & tricks for completing your applications so you can be done well before the holidays. Tomorrow, 8:30am, in the forum. Bring a laptop!


*Juniors and Seniors not currently in NHS - IF you are eligible to apply to National Honor Society, you will receive an email with instructions on how to apply. If you have questions about eligibility, please refer to the activities website for the NHS  "How to Apply" section.  If you still have questions, see Ms. Bownds (E1285) or Mrs. Gutierrez (World Lang office).  Seniors who are already members DO NOT need to REAPPLY. For these senior members, our first full council meeting will be Monday, September 26th from 3:40-4:00pm in the tiered classroom E1287.  Come and meet your Senior Officers!


*FBLA Warriors - join us for our Crumbl Kick Off to start off our year.  Meet us in the Forum after school this Thursday, September 22 for fun, information, and yes cookies! Can't make it, come to the Business office - S1404 and get the information to join FBLA!


*Hey Warriors, it’s fabulous to see you all in your GRAY. Come watch our staff battle it out in the Staff Trivia contest during both lunches TODAY!  Tomorrow - dress up is Wacky Tacky dress like Doc Day, the DECA barbeque at 6:00 pm, Powder Puff championship game at 6:30pm and Fireworks show at 8:45pm.

*Homecoming dance tickets & t-shirts will be on sale today in the cafeteria during both lunches.  Tickets are $20 today or $25 at the door.  Each shirt is $8.  Seniors and Sophomores wear black; Juniors and Freshmen wear gold. Cash or a check will be accepted for both tickets and shirts.

*If you are planning to bring a guest (someone who is not an AHS student) to our Homecoming Dance on Saturday, September 24th, please stop by the Front Desk or Activities office to pick up a Guest Pass Approval Form.  This approval form is due TODAY at 3:00pm.  Any questions, see Mrs. Peterson in the Activities office.

*Attention 9th, 10th & 11th graders - Are you interested in taking classes at the EPIC Campus? This facility will be open and ready for you in 10 months!  If you would like more information, please attend the EPIC Campus Information Night for AHS students and parents on Wednesday, September 28 at 6PM in the AHS Cafeteria. *Warriors, there is a free Alive@25 class Monday September 26th at 3:45pm - 8:15pm in room W1874.  There is still plenty of room to sign up.  This is a 4 1/2 hour class. Register on-line at www.aliveat25.us  and use the password  ARAPAHOE.  Any questions, ask Deputy Englert.




Athletics

*The Boys Varsity Tennis Warriors had a clean sweep victory, 7-0 against Chaparral last night.  Today, the Varsity Tennis Warriors travel to Pinehurst Country Club to take on the Mullen Mustangs at 3:45.

*Tonight our Volleyball teams take on the Mullen Mustangs in the first of this week's Homecoming matches. We would love to see you at Sitting Eagle Gymnasium for the Varsity match at 6:30pm.  Come cheer on the squad!

*Congratulations to the gymnastics team on their 2nd place finish at their home meet on Saturday.  Way to go!
