 General Announcements

*Here is your mindful moment for the week: Instead of creating a "to do" list; create an "I did it" list at the end of each day this week. This will help remind yourself of all the wonderful things you accomplished.


*Thanks, Warriors, for an unforgettable Homecoming Week!  Congratulations to ABK for winning the float competition.  You brought spirit and creativity to the parade.  Gymnastics won 2nd place, and the swim and dive team took 3rd.  Thank you to the 30 clubs and sport teams who participated in the parade!


*Picture retakes are this Friday in the Atrium from 8am - 3:30pm.  If you need a retake be sure to stop by and get your picture taken. 

*Seniors!  Do you have an October 15th college application deadline?  The College Application Tracking Form will be due on September 30th by 3:45 pm for all schools with an October 15th application deadline.  See Mrs. Arnold in the main office or Mrs. Conn in Post Secondary if you have questions regarding the tracking form.

*Arapahoe Artists!  The Activities Office is looking for a few people to help us with our bulletin boards.  Must have good handwriting and love to draw.  See Mrs. Kuhlmann or Mrs. Peterson in the Activities office for more details. 

 

*This is a big week for college visits at Arapahoe!  Reps from almost SIXTY colleges will be on our campus, and in addition to the regular visits in the post-secondary center, you'll be able to meet with many of them during lunch without having to register! Make time tomorrow to check out NYU, Penn State, Scripps, Reed, Grand Canyon, Maryland, Utah, Loyola Chicago & more in the trophy hall or room S1401.  See your counselor, Mrs. Conn, or check Naviance for more details.


*Reminder: the Alive@25 class is TODAY in room W1874. If you signed up for the class please show up. If you have not registered but would like to attend you can still attend. We will start right at 3:45pm. Please be on time in W1874. Any questions as Deputy Englert.


*Unify with Unified!  We would love your support at our home Unified Kickball game against Heritage on Tuesday, Sept. 27th at 4:30pm. Come out to the baseball field to cheer for your Warriors.

*To new NHS invitees: If you missed last week's meetings, please come by Ms Bownds room (E1285) to get the link for the NHS application. There is still time to submit your application before the deadline Thursday Sept 29th. To all senior NHS Members- Please join your senior officers for a quick meeting after school TODAY, Sept 26th, in the tiered classroom E1287. 


*Juniors: This year’s PSAT/NMSQT test will be offered on Wednesday, October 12th.  This test is optional but it is used to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship program.  The fee is $20.  To register, follow this link to the September Drumbeat or this form in our announcement.  Sophomores may take the test if they like, but please know it is optional.  Sophomores have their own link.  The registration deadline is Monday, October 3rd


*Attention 9-11 graders - Are you interested in taking classes at the EPIC Campus? This facility will be open and ready for you in 10 months!  If you would like more information, please attend the EPIC Campus Information Night for AHS students and parents on Wednesday, September 28 at 6PM in the AHS Cafeteria. Athletics

*The Varsity softball team picked up 2 wins on Saturday, beating Eaglecrest 13-3 and Chaparral 12-7. These wins improved their overall record to 10 and 8. They have won 5 of their last 6 games and look to build on a 3-game winning streak on Wednesday at Cherokee Trail. 

*On Tuesday Sept 27th, grab some dinner from Garlic Knot on East Arapahoe Rd and support ABK boys soccer!

*Congrats to the JV Gold Boys tennis team on winning the Chatfield Invitational for the second straight year.  They finished 17 and 3 in the tournament overall. Amazing win and great team work on the courts!
