 General Announcements

*Calling all writers! Do you want to refine your writing skills, craft fun story ideas, and explore different types of writing in a supportive community of like-minded writers? Then AHS’ Creative Writing Club sounds perfect for you! Our meetings are on Wednesdays from 3:40 to 4:40 pm in room C1457.  If you want to grow as a writer and make meaningful connections through your love of storytelling, then come by Wednesday afternoons and give us a try. Can’t wait to see you there!

*Picture retakes are this Friday in the West Atrium from 8am - 3:30pm.  If you need a retake be sure to stop by and get your picture taken. 

*Arapahoe Artists!  The Activities Office is looking for a few people to help us with our bulletin boards.  Must have good handwriting and love to draw.  See Mrs. Kuhlmann or Mrs. Peterson in the Activities office for more details. 

 

*Seniors!  Do you have an October 15th college application deadline?  The College Application Tracking Form will be due on September 30th by 3:45pm for all schools with an October 15th application deadline.  See Mrs. Arnold in the main office or Mrs. Conn in Post Secondary if you have questions regarding the tracking form.

*NHS invitees: Please be sure to turn in your application TODAY. Your recommendations and fee must be received by tomorrow, Friday, Sept 30th.  If you have questions, see Ms Bownds room E1285.

*Tomorrow's college visit line-up includes Wake Forest, Belmont, Montana State, Washington State, Oberlin, Syracuse & more.  Find them in the trophy hall during lunch or room S1401 throughout the day. See your counselor, Mrs. Conn, or check Naviance for more details.

*Warriors, did you know the Daily Announcements are on the AHS website?  Go to the little black box with the small megaphone marked Daily Announcements to catch any announcements you might have missed.

*Juniors: This year’s PSAT/NMSQT test will be offered on Wednesday, October 12th.  This test is optional but it is used to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship program.  The fee is $20.  To register, check the September Drumbeat or this form in the Announcements.  Sophomores may take the test if they like, but please know it is optional.  Sophomores have their own link.  The registration deadline is Monday, October 3rd

 

Athletics

*The Boys Varsity Tennis Warriors fought hard for a 4-3 win against Rocky Mountain High in the first round of the Team State Championship last night.  The win sends them to the Quarterfinals on Saturday where they will battle Fossil Ridge in Fort Collins!  Good Luck Warriors!

*Both the JV and Varsity Softball teams picked up wins last night against Cherokee Trail. The JV team won 6-3 and the varsity team won 12-2.  Both teams look to stay hot today as they take on Cherry Creek TODAY.

*ABK JV and Varsity take on Cherry Creek TODAY.  Varsity will play at 6pm at Stutler Bowl Stadium and JV plays at 4pm at Village Green Fields.  Come out and cheer them on! 

*The LPS/Heritage High School Gymnastics team will travel to Cherry Creek TODAY.  The first event is scheduled to start at 5:30pm.  On Saturday it's a "Think Pink" Invitational at Lakewood with the first event starting at 10:00am. We hope staff and students will come out and support the LPS/Heritage Gymnastics team this week!
