 General Announcements

*Congrats to our 2022 Arapahoe Homecoming Royalty nominated by students and teachers. Freshmen: Giovanni Caranna, Michael Caranna, Will Edson, and Quinn Perrow. Sophomores: Isabella Brandberg, Hannah Cadwallader, Moya Goodiel and Brody Nelson. Juniors: Cole Domingo, Izzy Douchane, Michaela Powell, and Liam Rump. Seniors: Juliana Brandberg, Skylar Cotham, Addie Doyle, and Ryan Reynolds

*Are you searching for that perfect part-time job that won't conflict with your school work or activities?  Check out the AHS Student Job Board, just outside the Business office in the south hallway.  We've recently posted many new opportunities and the board is updated often.

*Juniors and Seniors not currently in NHS - IF you are eligible to apply to National Honor Society, you will receive an email with instructions on how to apply. If you have questions about eligibility, please refer to the activities website for the NHS  "How to Apply" section.  If you still have questions, see Ms. Bownds (E1285) or Mrs. Gutierrez (World Lang office).  Seniors who are already members DO NOT need to REAPPLY. For these senior members, our first full council meeting will be Monday, September 26th from 3:40-4:00pm in the tiered classroom E1287.  Come and meet your Senior Officers!

 

*Juniors: This year’s PSAT/NMSQT test will be offered on Wednesday, October 12th.  This test is optional but it is used to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship program.  The fee is $20.  To register, follow this link to the September Drumbeat or this form in our announcement.  Sophomores may take the test if they like, but please know it is optional.  Sophomores have their own link.  The registration deadline is Monday, October 3rd

 

*Holy 1.21 GIGAWATTS Warriors!  Terrific to see those Doc Browns out there. Tomorrow’s dress up is 80’s Throwback!  See you tonight at the DECA Barbeque, Powder Puff football game and fireworks show.

*Homecoming dance tickets & t-shirts will be on sale today in the cafeteria during both lunches.  Tickets are $20 or $25 at the door.  Each shirt is $8.  Seniors and Sophomores wear black; Juniors and Freshmen wear gold. Cash or a check will be accepted for both tickets and shirts.

*Attention 9-11 graders - Are you interested in taking classes at the EPIC Campus? This facility will be open and ready for you in 10 months!  If you would like more information, please attend the EPIC Campus Information Night for AHS students and parents on Wednesday, September 28 at 6PM in the AHS Cafeteria. *Warriors, there is a free Alive@25 class Monday September 26th at 3:45pm - 8:15pm in room W1874.  There is still plenty of room to signup.  This is a 4 1/2 hour class. Register on-line at www.aliveat25.us  and use the password  ARAPAHOE.  Any questions, ask Deputy Englert.


Athletics

*Congrats to the Sophomore, JV, and Varsity Volleyball teams for their wins over Mullen!  Thanks to all the fans who came to cheer on the squad, and the Cheers and Toms.  A special shout out goes to Mac Shaver and crew for broadcasting the game on Arapahoe Sports Network.  The Warriors compete in their second home game of homecoming week Thursday night against Eaglecrest.  JV starts at 5:00pm, Varsity at 6:30pm.  Come on out and cheer on the squad!


*The Boys Varsity Tennis Warriors trounced the Mullen Mustangs last night with a score of 6 to 1.  Another great team victory against tough competition! The Varsity Boys are in action again tonight, 4pm at Columbine High School.  


*The Boys JV Black Tennis team beat Mullen 12-2 on Tuesday winning 102 games to their 45.  We play Columbine on Wednesday to finish out the season.
