 General Announcements

*Come cheer on your Unified Basketball team tomorrow, February 10th at the Unity Through Unified Tournament from 6:00-8:00pm in the AHS main gym. 


*Graduating Seniors… are you innovative, creative, fearless, and willing to risk failure in the pursuit of something new? Submit your own original project in fashion, technology, visual or performing arts – anything from a novel to an opera to a new car design – for a chance to win the $20,000 MCA Denver Failure Scholarship! No idea is too absurd! Deadline is March 1st.


*Come to Arapahoe Vocal Music's 6th Annual Valentine's Cabaret on Friday, February 17th.  The event will  feature the Arapahoe Vocal Music students showcasing their diverse talents in the program’s primary annual fundraising concert.  Tickets are available now at: Arapahoe Cabaret Tickets.


*Arapahoe Celebrates School Counselor Week!  Here is another one of our awesome 

Mrs. Mckee is also in her first year at Arapahoe serving students with the last name D-GO. She was born and raised in New York graduating from Bethlehem Central High School and receiving her Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Cortland.  Mrs. Mckee has lived in Colorado for about a year and loves the city of Denver as she explores the food and coffee scene. She is the youngest of four and definitely brings that baby energy to AHS!


*Today’s African American Pioneer in Mental Health.  Jennifer Eberhardt is our African American Pioneer of the day! She is an esteemed professor of psychology at Stanford University. She is an expert on the consequences of the psychological association between race and crime and has done extensive research on the topics of implicit bias, criminal justice, and the education system. Her work has provided the evidence needed to educate law enforcement officers in implicit bias training. In 2014, Dr. Eberhardt's work earned her the famous MacArthur "Genius Grant" Fellowship.


*Earn high school graduation credit this Spring/Summer by taking driver education.  Go to https://littletonpublicschools.net/driversed. Classes are filling up quickly so register as soon as possible.  



Athletics

*Are you interested in playing baseball with the AHS Baseball team this spring?  There is a meeting TONIGHT at 7:00pm in the Forum.  See Coach Dollaghan for more details.


*Congratulations to all of our 13 Girls Swim and Dive Warriors who have qualified for the 5A State Swim & Dive Championships.  Good luck to them as they compete today and tomorrow at the VMAC in Thorton.  


*Make sure you wish all the Warrior Wrestlers GOOD LUCK as they compete at Regionals Friday and Saturday. Varsity Boys will compete at Valor HS and Varsity Girls will compete at Douglas County HS.  


*Congratulations to our JV and Varsity Boys Basketball teams for their wins last night against Overland.  Great job Warriors! Stay tuned for details on the upcoming tournament games.  


*Warrior Girl Golfers, there will be a Mandatory Player and Parent Meeting for the upcoming season on Monday, February 13th in the Forum at 5:00pm. See Coach Riordan with any questions.
