General Announcements
Do you have any
finals that require a presentation? How about a final that is a speech? If
you've got some public-speaking-related finals, let the Speech and Debate Team
help! On Tuesday, May 9th and Thursday, May 11th, Speech and Debate team
members will be available in room C 1452 to help their peers practice public
speaking and presentation skills. Come on out, from 2:30 to 3:30 pm on
Tuesday or Thursday. The team will also be available the following week, May
16th and May 18th!
All students
registering for A.P. Literature and Composition next year need to pick up their
summer reading packets from Ms. LeClair’s desk in the Language Arts office. The
assignment is also available on her website.
Students, do you
have a flair for public speaking? The activities office is looking for daily
announcements readers for the next year, now. Please come to the Activities/Attendance
office and sign up for a trial reading with Mrs. Bailey.
Important reminder to everyone attending after prom
this year. The school dress code will be strictly enforced and you are not
allowed to wear any items of clothing that are deemed inappropriate by
Arapahoe staff and administration (for example, t-shirts with inappropriate
language/sayings on them). You will be told to change, or to cover up with a
t-shirt provided by AHS or to leave after prom all together if found in
violation of the school dress code. Thank you for your cooperation.
Need to get a summer job? Then you should attend the Young Adult
Job Fair this
Friday from 4 to 6 pm at the Arapahoe/ Douglas Works
Workforce Center. 13 employers will be there looking to hire for various
positions. For more information, please see Mr. Sawyer in the Business
Department.
Seniors-please check your lunch money account
this week, if there is a balance you can get a refund, if you owe anything,
this account must be paid up, please check in with the AHS kitchen staff.
Monies you have left over can be transferred to a sibling or donated to the
“Lunch Shares Program”, have your parents check with the Nutrition Services
Office.
Juniors and Seniors: Don't forget to Jet Set to international
destinations when you attend After Prom on May 6th. Your favorites are back - casino, caricatures,
tattoos and more along with new entertainment you don't want to miss -
laser tag and hypo-comedian! Eat all your favorite foods and win amazing
prizes! You will not want to miss out on the best After Prom party in
Colorado. Tickets on sale for $20 during both lunches TODAY. Tickets at
the door will be $25. Bring your ticket and ID to After Prom.
The varsity girls’ tennis team competed
in regional' s on Wednesday and Thursday. The team places 2nd and
qualified 9 players for the state tournament. Congrats to Annie Betts,
Caroline Mchillips, Kaylee Whitehouse and Bettina Meske for taking first place
at their respective positions. Congrats Warrior tennis players!
Friday, May 5th:
Please cheer on the Arapahoe boys varsity lacrosse team tonight at 7 PM for
their last regular season game. They will be playing Mountain Vista at
Littleton Public Schools Stadium. Go Warriors!
There will be an informational meeting for the upcoming 2017 fall boys tennis season in the Forum at AHS Monday, May 8 at 6 p.m. Entry will be through the North Forum doors (northwest side of building). Coach Weyhrich will be there and will go over summer camps, drop-in drills and other information for the summer and upcoming season.
Anyone interested in trying out for the
Arapahoe baseball summer teams, we will be holding tryouts May 8th and
9th from 5:30-8 pm on the JV baseball field.
Tryouts for the 2017-2018 cheer team are being held starting at 5:00 p.m. on May 8th in the
Wrestling Room. Please check out the Cheer team page on the Athletic
website for more details.
Attention
girls hoping to try out for volleyball next fall. We will have open
gyms on Tuesday nights from 6.30-9 pm, now until finals week!
Please show up early to help set up nets. No forms or fees, just show up ready
to play! GO WARRIORS!
