General Announcements
Juniors and seniors! Thursday, the Post Grad Center will host Cornell College. Sign ups close by the end of the school day on Wednesday. Seniors! Remember no College Application Boot Camp this week. A new session begins next week!
On Thursday, October 12th, there will be an informational meeting for juniors and seniors interested in taking Concurrent Enrollment classes through ACC during the 2018 spring semester. This meeting will be held in the Forum during both lunch periods; students can bring their lunch and eat it during the meeting.
ATTENTION ALL JUNIORS AND SENIORS: The 2017/2018 trip to Washington D.C. is here again! This trip is an amazing opportunity to experience Washington D.C. and Capitol Hill first hand. There will be a parent/guardian meeting for those interested in this trip on Wednesday, October 11th at 7 PM in the Room W-2882. Please feel free to join your parent or guardian, and if you are unable to attend the meeting, please see Mrs. Winn in the Social Studies department.
Picture Retake day is tomorrow! Picture retakes will be in the East Hallway (by the Bubble) all day. This is your last chance to have your photo taken for the 2017-2018 school year! Please note: you will need to return your old packet to the photographer before getting your retake. Are you new to Arapahoe High School? Or did you simply miss all of the other opportunities to have your picture taken? No problem! Come and get your picture taken. Remember - this is your final opportunity of the year. Order forms are in the Main Office.
It’s time for eligible juniors and seniors to apply for membership in National Honor Society! If you are a junior with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, or a senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher, then you are eligible to apply for membership. If your GPA makes you eligible for NHS, but you haven't received a letter mailed to your home, please contact Mr. Smith or Ms. McGeorge in the science office, or Ms. Leclaire in language arts. This letter also tells about important informational meetings going on this week. If you are applying for membership in NHS, and you have not attended one of these meetings yet, your MUST attend the meeting after school today at 2:20 in room C-1447.
Do you love cars? Are you a gearhead? Or do you just generally like to look at some cool cars? If that's you come to Arapahoe High School's Inaugural Car Show Saturday October 14th from 9am -12 pm in the West parking lot! Bring your friends and bring your family! All donations will be going towards the Wounded Warrior foundation.
This week is National School Lunch Week! Today is Taste Test Tuesday, Come and try a new veggie recipe created by our nutrition services team.
Student Council would like to extend a HUGE thank you to all the students and staff who came to support our events last week during Homecoming! It was a wonderful week of school spirit and we are grateful for all the participation this year! We are also excited to announce the winning floats from the Homecoming Parade on Saturday! The overall winner for this year's BEST float is...GIRL'S BASKETBALL!!! And for the class float, we'd like to congratulate the SOPHOMORE CLASS for their awesome display of "A Week at Sea" creativity! Thank you again to everyone who attended and participated in our events last week. We hope you all had a blast!

Girls Swim and Dive -- Please join us Wednesday October 11th at 6pm in the AHS Cafeteria for the Parent information meeting and suit try-on night. The coaches will share important information about the swim/dive season, and swimmers/divers will have an opportunity to try-on the team suit, and check out the other team gear.
Your Varsity and JV Boys’ soccer teams travel this evening to play matches against Smoky Hill High School. Due to the weather/field conditions, exact times and locations are still to be determined.
