Good morning Warriors! This is Ms. Levi and today I want
to talk to you about a very important tradition at Arapahoe in which you’ll be
partaking this week: nominating members of your class for the 2013
Homecoming Royalty court. Homecoming
is the tradition of inviting alumni to return to their school. Upon their
return, we show these former students as well as teachers, parents, staff, and
community members what Arapahoe High School represents. Your Homecoming
royalty should represent this ideal. Consider, as you nominate, students
who embody the Warrior spirit, who are academically-minded, who are giving, who
take care of others. Ask yourself what, to you, it means to be a Warrior. I was honored by my class 10 years ago to be a member of the royalty court. I still
remember the people who were elected along with me as we were the people not
just representing our class that year at such events as the bonfire, football
and parade, but also representing our class in memory and yearbooks for all the
years to come. This year marks the 50th anniversary
of Arapahoe High School. I challenge you this week, as you nominate your
classmates, to contribute thoughtfully to this time-honored tradition.
Look for the links to the Homecoming nominations form on the Arapahoe website.
