Hello
Warriors! We are extremely proud to
announce the names of the Semi Finalists, and Commended Scholars in the 2014
National Merit Scholarship Program.
These students are honored for their outstanding performance on the 2012
PSAT which they took last October. The
Semi Finalists are: Pierceson Brown,
Clairissa Hansen, John Michael McKoy, Megan Moore, Joe Redmond, Daniel Sabey,
Nick Sabo, Zach Waanders, and Sara Wilky.
The Commended Scholars are: John Barsch, Matt Cheney, Chad Curd,
Grace Marlowe, Kimberly McEntire, and Chris Retzlaff. If you see these seniors in class or in the
halls, please congratulate them. Great job

We are proud to announce the
name of our 2013-14 National Hispanic Scholar. Students who receive this
recognition from the College Board are at least one-quarter Hispanic/Latino,
have achieved a specific minimum PSAT/NMSQT score for their region, and must
have a junior year cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Please congratulate Dominic Martinez if you
see him in class or in the halls.
Lunch
specials today: Cafe Rio taco and enchilada
plates, chicken breast sandwich, Swiss bacon cheeseburgers. Also offered:
pizza, sub sandwiches, salads. Please submit your lunch applications before Monday if
you haven't done so already. See you at Lunch Warriors!!
Seniors,
Herff Jones representatives will be at Arapahoe High School today during
lunches in the cafeteria to accept your graduation announcement order and
answer any questions that you may have. October 8 will be the makeup date
to turn in graduation announcements.
Hey Key Club, don't forget that your t-shirt
money and your activity fee are due on Monday. You must have the activity fee in order to
participate in Key Club this year. For more information, see our Facebook
page, Arapahoe High School Key Club. Thanks so much.
Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, if you are
planning to bring a guest from another school to the Homecoming Dance, please
make sure your Guest Forms are turned in by 3:00 p.m. on October 1st to
Mrs. Scoglio in the Attendance Office.
Hey Warriors, homecoming is just around the
corner and we want to see your school spirit!
Monday is
Black and White Formal Day, Tuesday is
Colorado Pride Day, Wednesday is Wacky Tacky, Thursday is
Sports Day, and Friday is Spirit Day so be sure to look your
best! Also don’t forget to come to the talent Show on Monday night. Royalty
will be announced so don’t miss it! Also, be sure to stop by the cafeteria
today to purchase Homecoming t-shirts and tickets to next Saturday’s
dance. Tickets are $10 and t-shirts are $5.
The Homecoming Talent Show will rock the stage
on Monday at 5:00 and 7:00 in the AHS Theater. Homecoming royalty
will also be announced at the 7:00 show, and
the theater will be packed, so buy your tickets as soon as possible! Tickets
will be sold during both lunches through Monday.
The time is NOW, Warriors. The Race for the Cure is coming
up on Sunday, September 29th. You can sign up to run or walk the
race, or you can sign up to SLEEP IN for the Race. Yes! You can be
a part of our community efforts to have the largest high school team and you
can just SLEEP IN!!! Join our team!
Help find a cure for breast cancer! Go to the Race for the Cure
website and find our Arapahoe team.

Juniors, the PSAT test is coming. When? . . . October 16!
Registration has started and goes through
October 9. So, remember to bring $15 and your photo ID
to the Guidance Office to sign up for this important test!
Athletics
Congrats to the freshman, sophomore, JV, and Varsity
volleyball teams for the sweep over Smoky Hill last night.
The JV Tennis Team defeated Overland yesterday.
They play their last season match today at Creek. Come on over and watch the
team defeat Cherry Creek.
