Announcements
The latest edition of The Herald magazine
hit the news-stands today. Get your copy from your 2nd period teacher, or
look for copies in the cafeteria and the library.
Students, please remember that Arapahoe
has a strict no-visitor policy. As stated in your handbook, students are not
allowed to bring visitors to school during the school day for any reason.
The PSAT results are back! Please come to
the Guidance Office to pick up your score report and test booklet. These
resources are a great way to study for your next standardized exam.
Feed your mind and your stomach by
joining the world of e-books at the AHS Library. Starting this week, a winner
of a $10 gift card to a local eatery will be randomly drawn from those students
who have checked out and downloaded an AHS e-book during the current week. Winners
will be announced in the library at the end of second lunch each Friday for
five weeks starting today. Take a
chance to grow both your intellect and your waistline!
The Speech and Debate team is holding
their elections for Captain and Officer positions on Tuesday, February 23 in room C15. Please be there to vote for your
future team leaders! If you are interested in running for a leadership position
please refer to the website and fill out the application before the February 19th deadline.
Hey Warriors! We are excited to announce a
new event during Warrior Week. DECA is sponsoring a 3-on-3 March Madness
Basketball Tournament! All proceeds from the event will be donated to the
Joshua School, which is the charity we will be supporting during Warrior Week.
Registration packets for the tournament can be picked up in the business office
starting TODAY. Each team will consist of two boys and
two girls, with only 1 boy and 1 girl Arapahoe basketball player allowed per
team. First come first serve! There are only 20 spots available! Pick up your
registration packet so you can be a part of this exciting new event and help a
good cause.
Athletics
Your Arapahoe Girls Varsity Basketball
Team came home with the Win against Overland 74-37. Top scorers were Jordyn
Vega (12 points), Macy Ziegler (11 points), Grace Cadorette (11 points) and
Katie Crowley (10 points). Top rebounders were Amanda Brenner & Eliana
Kearby. Their next game is tonight at Smoky Hill at 7pm. The C Team also brought home a win over Mullen 54-47 in
tournament play last night. Top scorer was Megan Skirka. Top rebounder Brooke
Brenning. Way to go Ladies! On another note, our very own Varsity Basketball player, Jordyn Vega has been
selected as an Aspire Athlete of the Week semi-finalist for her “greatness"
demonstrated in athletics, academics, community involvement & character. Vote for Jordyn at ASPIREathleteoftheweek.com/ denver starting
this Sunday at 10am.
