ATTENTION ALL JUNIORS AND

2017 trip to Washington D.C. is here again! This trip is an amazing
opportunity to experience Washington D.C. and Capitol Hill first hand.
This year will be especially exciting and relevant because we will have a new
President and many changes in Congress. There
will be a parent/guardian meeting for those interested in this trip on
Wednesday, October 12th at 6 PM in the Room W-2882. Please
feel free to join your parent or guardian, and if you are unable to attend the
meeting, please see Mr. Hawthorne or Mrs. Winn in the Social Studies
department.
It’s that time of year for eligible
juniors and seniors to start applying for membership in National Honor Society!
If you are a junior with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, or a senior
with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher, then you are eligible to apply for
membership. Eligible students should have received a
letter inviting them to apply and also explaining the application
process.
This letter also tells you
about important informational meetings going on this
week. If you are applying for membership in NHS, and you
have not attended one of these meetings yet, you MUST attend
the meeting after school today at 2:20 in room
C-1457. Remember that these meetings are only for eligible
juniors and seniors, so if you are unsure whether you are eligible, please
contact Mr. Smith, Ms. McGeorge, or Ms. Leclaire.
Picture re-take day is today! from 10
a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the main entrance hallway. If you haven't had your
picture taken for the yearbook, now is the time to do it. If you need re-takes
please return your photo packet to the photographer.
Come to Dairy Queen in Southglenn tomorrow
between 5 and 8pm to help support the Choirs and Orchestra. Every sale helps us
out, so bring the family, bring your friends, bring your dog and your sweet
tooth see you at the DQ on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, the Post Grad Center will host Metro State, Belmont
University, and the University of Colorado at Boulder. The CU Boulder
visit will be held in the Forum. Sign up as usual in Naviance and bring
your signed blue pass to the visit.
Juniors and Seniors: Anyone
interested in taking a Concurrent Enrollment class next semester at
Arapahoe Community College should plan on attending a meeting this Friday, October 14th in the forum.
This will take place during both lunches, so feel free to bring your
lunch. Applications will be available at that time and the deadline
to register will be at the end of October. This is another great opportunity to
earn both high school and college credit. Please see your counselor for more
information.
Warriors, October is Safe Schools
Month! Stop by the table in front of the counseling office in the
cafeteria during both lunches to contribute to our gratitude chain and to pick
up resources for keeping yourself and others safe. Go out to the circle
drive during lunch to learn from our school resource officers about the dangers
of drinking and driving. We hope to see you there!
