opportunity to experience Washington D.C. and Capitol Hill first hand.

It’s that time of year for eligible
juniors and seniors to start applying for membership in National Honor Society!
If you are a junior with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, or a senior
with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher, then you are eligible to apply for
membership. Eligible students should have received a
letter inviting them to apply and also explaining the application
process. If your GPA makes you eligible for NHS, but you haven't
received a letter at home, please contact Mr. Smith or Ms. McGeorge
in the science office, or Ms. Leclaire in language arts.
This letter also tells you
about important informational meetings going on this
week. If you are applying for membership in NHS, you must attend one
of these meetings to learn about the club and the application
process. There are still 3 more meetings for you to
choose from this week: tomorrow morning, and also today or tomorrow after
school. Remember that these meetings are only for eligible
juniors and seniors, so if you are unsure whether you are eligible, please
contact Mr. Smith, Ms. McGeorge, or Ms. Leclaire.
Picture re-take day will be tomorrow! from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the main
entrance hallway. If you haven't had your picture taken for the yearbook, now
is the time to do it. If you need re-takes please return your photo packet to
the photographer.
Come to Dairy Queen in Southglenn on
Wednesday October 12th between 5 and 8pm to help support the Choirs
and Orchestra. Every sale helps us out, so bring the family, bring your
friends, bring your dog and your sweet tooth to DQ on Wednesday.
Senior students and parents! Come
to Financial Aid Night this evening from 6-7pm in the theater. A
financial aid expert will be here from the University of Denver to explain the
two major changes in filing this year, to help you understand the importance of
applying for financial aid, and to educate you on applying for aid at both
public and private colleges. This is the only night this information will be
offered, so be sure to attend! Underclassmen and parents are also welcome
to come and get a preview of the financial aid process.
This week, the Post Grad Center will
host Metro State, Belmont University, the University of Colorado at Boulder,
Cornell College, and Chadron State College. Log in to Naviance for
