General Announcements
Juniors (and interested Sophomores) registration for PSAT is now
open! Come to the Guidance Department and sign up with Mrs. Ives. Cost for PSAT
is $18.
Registration is from now until Oct. 13th.
PSAT test will be happening Wednesday morning, Oct. 19th.
We are encouraging every junior to take this test. The PSAT is the
only exam to qualify a student for National Merit Scholar Status, when taken
during junior year.
There
will be NCAA/NAIA Compliance Orientation on Tuesday,
October 4th during lunches in the Forum for all Juniors and Seniors
interested in competing in athletics on the college level. For more
information and to sign up for this meeting, please stop by either the Athletic
or Guidance Office.
Attention seniors: The Daniels
Fund Scholarship application is now open. Are you a senior who
demonstrates strength of character, leadership potential, community service,
academic promise, and a well-rounded personality? The Daniels Scholarship
is a “last dollar” scholarship that will pay toward the remaining costs of a
scholar’s education after all other grants and scholarships are applied. The
scholarship is only awarded to students from our four-state area There is a
need-based component to qualify. Stop by the Guidance office and see Mrs.
Kostra for more information.
Attention Key Clubbers! We are meeting
in a different room today. Please meet in the forum for out meeting at 2:20pm.

Thank you to
all you came out to participate in, or
watch our 2016 Homecoming parade on Saturday! It was great to see so many
teams and clubs represented this year! We have tabulated the results from
the judges and are pleased to announce the winning floats. For the class
floats, the winner is....The Class of 2019!!! Awesome job,
Sophomores! And...the OVERALL float winner for the parade is...Girls'
Basketball! Congratulations to these two groups and thanks again for
another wonderful Homecoming parade!"
Congratulations to the Warrior Marching Band and Color Guard for their
excellent performances at the Douglas County Marching Invitational on Saturday
at Douglas County High School Stadium. Arapahoe placed 2nd in 5A (5th
place overall) with a score of 68.95. Congratulations Warrior Marching
Band and Guard!!!
Senior students and parents! Not
only do you have to apply to college, you also must pay for college. Come
to Financial Aid Night, one week from today, on Monday, October 10th from 6-7pm
in the theater. A financial aid expert will be here from the University
of Denver to discuss the two major changes in filing this year, to help you
understand the importance of applying, and to educate you on applying for aid
at public and private colleges. This is the only night this information will be
offered, so be sure to attend!
On Tuesday, the Post Grad Center will
host Case Western Reserve University, College of the Holy Cross, the University
of Oregon, the University of Kansas, Williams College, Boston University,
Denison University, and Wesleyan University. Log in to Naviance to sign
up.

Congrats to the JV softball team for
their 14 to 10 win over Smoky Hill last Thursday. Great Job Ladies. Come
support the Lady Warriors during their last home game on Wednesday against
Overland. Varsity game time is 4:00 pm at deKoevand Park and the JV game starts
at 4:30 at Arapahoe.
