Congratulations to the Arapahoe Warrior Marching Band and Color
Guard who competed last night at the CBA 5A Metro Regional Qualifying
competition!!!! The band and guard earned a score of 75.20 and placed
first making them the 5A Metro Regional Champions!!! Congratulations for
all of the hard work that you have put in this season! Please come out to Douglas County High School
stadium on Saturday, October 19th to see the band and color guard in action
again! They will be performing on Saturday afternoon
at 3:45 p.m. and this will be their last performance before the State
Championships on October 26th. They hope to see you there!!!
Congratulations
to the staff members and editors of the Arapahoe Herald newspaper and the
Calumet yearbook. Both publications won the highest award, All-Colorado status,
from the Colorado High School Press Association at the annual Journalism Day
convention on Friday, October 11. The newspaper also won 2nd place in the Best
of Show contest, and the yearbook received an Honorable Mention.
The
Arapahoe Herald student newspaper hits the newsstands today. Look for your copy
in classrooms or in the cafeteria.
All Speech and Debate Team members should attend today meeting and
practice after school in Room C15.
Imagine a
project so captivating that you want to spend hours working on it to get it
just right. If this sounds intriguing, then the Technology Student
Association Club is for you! That’s what happens when TSA members compete
at the State Competition. Students work individually or as a team in such areas
as agriculture and biotechnology, website design, dragster design, flight challenge,
film technology, CAD with 3D modeling, desktop publishing, extemporaneous
speaking, structural engineering, Fashion Design, Video, and many
more. To find out more about this exciting opportunity, please come to the first TSA meeting of
the year today at 2:25- 3:00 in Room E6. Hope to

Students, this is a reminder that the PSAT will take
place tomorrow morning. Students signed up to take this test need
to arrive no later than 7:15 a.m. to report to their assigned
classrooms. Please check the room assignments that are now posted in the
cafeteria. The test will end at approximately 10:30 a.m. and
classes will begin after lunch at 11:00 a.m. Buses will run normally in
the morning and again three hours later than normal to pick up students who are
not taking the test. Students who are testing should remember to bring two
#2 pencils, a calculator, and I.D.
Students,
This is a reminder that Arapahoe High School will host a regional college
fair on Monday, October 21 from 6:00 to 7:30
p.m. in the Sitting Eagle Gymnasium. Over 50 Colleges from Colorado and
neighboring states will attend. Plan to come and talk to representatives
from colleges that may be of interest to you.
Please park on the west side of the building. Doors will open promptly at 6 p.m.

artists and writers! The Muse magazine is now accepting YOUR submissions of
art, poetry, and prose. The Muse is a student-run literary and arts magazine
featuring the products of Arapahoe's most talented and creative students – and
you don't want to miss this opportunity to be one of them! To submit, visit the
Muse page under the activities tab on the school website.
Attention
dodgeball players! All competitors participating in the DECA Dodgeball
tournament must attend one of the rules meeting held on Monday, October 21st
at 2:30 in Room E9 or Tuesday, October 22nd
at 5:30 in the Forum.
Remember it is MANDATORY for every member participating on a team to
attend one of these meetings. If you do not attend a rules meeting, you will
not be allowed to play in the tournament.
The 2013 Stride is
almost here! Run or Walk The Stride 5k or 10k and help support the LPS
Foundation. All proceeds benefit Littleton Public Schools Foundation and
the work they do supporting teachers, students, and staff. Students and staff
we need your help to win the extra participation award. Hurry and get moving
fast to register. Check out www.runthestride.com or register with any Physical Education
Teacher. The race is Sunday, October 27th beginning at Ketring Park @ 8:00 a.m.
Attention all Arapahoe Students . . . we are calling
on you to help others in our community who are in need. October 21-November 1 we will be collecting non-perishable
food for the students and community at Field Elementary. Please help us support
the Food for Field drive by bringing cans or non-perishable food to the boxes
located in each classroom. The winning class will receive a prize. We will also
be hosting a raffle during both lunches. Please bring 2 non-perishable items in
exchange for a raffle ticket. The winners of 10 Deca Dollars will be
announced on
Friday the 25th and Nov 1. Show
your support for the community and make sure to donate!

to the Varsity Cheerleading Team as well as the JV Cheerleading Team!
They both took 1st place at this past Saturday’s Americheer
competition. Great job girls!

to the Ultimate Frisbee Team for taking 2nd place last weekend at the Monarch
Invitational.
Attention
AHS Baseball players and families. This Sunday, Oct. 20th, is Fall Field Day. Please come to the
baseball field to work on our entire baseball facility and get it all
wrapped up for the winter. We'll start at 12:00 and
hopefully be done in a couple of hours; way before the Broncos kickoff at 6:30.
Please bring shovels, painting supplies, wheel barrows and tools. Thanks
