General Announcements

Attention Seniors!  The Boettcher Scholarship Foundation aims to keep Colorado's best and brightest students in the state for undergraduate studies by offering full ride scholarships to 42 graduating seniors across the state.  Come listen to a presentation by a Boettcher Foundation representative today during both lunches.  Bring your lunch to the Forum to learn about competing for this prestigious scholarship.  Interested juniors are also welcome to attend!

Calling all Arapahoe Artists! If you have signed up to be a part of the AHS Art Club or you would like to join, it is not too late!  Please come down to the Art Department today for a meeting in Rm E-11.  We will be discussing homecoming and other projects going forward.  We hope to see you there!

Attention Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors:   The election of 2016 is just around the corner and New Era Colorado wants to help you register and preregister to vote!  They will be visiting Arapahoe on Tuesday September 22nd, Wednesday September 23rd and Thursday September 24th. If you are 16, 17, or 18 years old and are a US citizen please bring a state issued ID to school so you can perform your civic responsibility of registering to vote!  Registration will take place in all Government and Economics classes and they will have registration tables in the bubble hallway for those that are interested!

Hey Key Clubbers! Thanks to all who showed up at Monday's Key Club meeting, we had a great turn out. If you were not able to come to the meeting, it's not too late to join! You can see Ms. McVey in the Social Studies office for a sign up form. Next Monday's meeting will be in the Forum, right after school at 2:20pm. Hope to see you there!

Hey Warriors!  The annual DECA Dodgeball tournament is about a month away!
That means it's time to register for the event. The theme for this year's tournament is Halloween! Registration packets may be picked up in the Business Office starting Friday, Sept. 18th. Teams must consist of 5 boys and 5 girls. The teams are chosen on a first-come first-serve basis. Only the first 20 teams to turn in completed registration packets will be allowed to participate in the tournament. Prepare to be SPOOKED!


Athletics

The JV Boys Tennis Team defeated both the Mullen Varsity & JV teams yesterday 15-9!! Way to Go Warriors! Come out to the AHS courts  Friday at 3:30 and watch the JV take on Columbine. This is the only match the JV will play at the AHS courts. 

Yesterday, your Boys’ Varsity Soccer team beat Chatfield High School by a score of 2-0 with another strong all-around effort! Chris Grauberger and Trevor Young each scored a goal for the Warriors.

All lady warriors interested in playing basketball this upcoming winter should plan on attending open gyms this week and for the rest of the fall season! Open gym times are listed on the arapahoeladyhoops.com website. Please see Ms. Hancock in the Language Arts department if you have questions. See you on the court!
